I've only been going here for a short amount of time, but this place is great. Donne, the owner and trainer, owns the gym and really cares about his clients. He is all about the "results" as he says and you can tell he isn't lying. Many of his clients are very happy with him and you can tell they have made tremendous progress. I love to work out without too many people around, I feel comfortable, plus there's no wait for any machine. The only hiccup I foresee is the fact that I didn't see more than 1 pair of 5 and 10 dumbells. So if more than 1 person is using one of those weights time could be wasted. Plus there were no 8 or 12 lb weights. There were only 5, 10, 15lbs. Sometimes 10 is too light and 15 is too heavy. A 12lb dumbell would do nicely. The main reason I'm joining is because it's open 24hrs and close to my house. I'm a busy mom of two, who works in the city, has to leave at 6am to get to work and return at 6/6:30pm. Joining a regular gym with regular hours wouldn't work for me. It's slightly pricier than other gyms but for me this works. And I can't wait to try out the classes!

Locker / Upkeep - Staff - Maintenance needs to be worked on. Often out of toilet paper. Sometimes flying little bugs in the shower stalls. Locker / Upkeep - Members - Etiquette - pretty good Members / Locker room behavior is okay - You always have some just walking around nude for too long. Gym equipment availability - Barbell's and dumbbells are left all over the gym like if children are at play. Good luck finding the weights that you are looking for. Overall: I decided to go to the other gym down the road at half the monthly cost. Too many don't understand gym etiquette (leave stuff all around/don't re-rack, hog (3) machines/stations at once (happens daily, while they play on the phone for an hour). After that I thought I heard a guy laugh at me so I sped walk because I was embarrassed. An employee "Risa" if that's even her actual name, ran to me yelling at me aggressively and aggressively grabbed my shoulder pulling me towards her. I was confused at the fact that she laid her hands on me. I understand they might've saw the situation differently but she had no right to grab me like that and after I told management she put her hands on me she denied it. Staff was rude and unprofessional aside from the guy who scanned my ID he is always kind to me and my friends. Management didn't do anything to correct her or try to stop her from the continuous insults that she kept yelling at me. I am a non confrontational person so having someone grab you, yell at you and continue to throw insults at you while sticking up their middle finger an EMPLOYEE at that is scary. Not once did I raise my voice at her or any of the staff as I tried to explain the situation, nor did I insult anyone. I even asked management to pull up the footage from the cameras but he refused to stating he had "already spoke to her" (as she continued to interrupt the conversation between the manager and I). For someone who pays monthly to be able to work out at a gym in peace, you would think that the company would have a standard for the type of behavior they expect from their employees. An employee should never lay a finger on a paying customer, especially one who didn't even raise their voice at her and reacting like that over a billboard accidentally being knocked over and picked back up is concerning. I hope LA Fitness can do something to prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future.

The gym floor was immaculate and clean and fresh smelling. The bathroom was the same immaculate fresh smelling and clean the equipment however was extremely old and outdated and broken. Every piece of equipment that we tried to use was visibly rotted and rusted broken handles on tricep push down pads, broken on seat seats, and the equipment was not spaced apart enough so that a person could extend their arms to give themselves adequate space to work out. It seems as though this Planet Fitness hasn't had their equipment exchanged in quite so many years, very outdated and very broken and it's a shame because it's really a nice gym. The members were very pleasant and kind and friendly. But the equipment can really use an exchange.

Gerrick does a really good job at incorporating partner/team workouts to promote camaraderie at the gym. Every time I walk into class, I feel like I am welcomed by family even though I have never met some of the people there before. Gerrick is also very knowledgeable and is extremely dedicated to helping each of his clients reach their goals. In the middle of a full class, he is able to target an individual's weakness and help guide them to finish the workout safely and successfully. All of the workouts are programmed to fit any fitness level. Although the workouts are pretty challenging, he is somehow able to keep the workouts fun and still functional. I began training with Gerrick back in 2016 at a gym that was less than two miles away from my house. Now that he has opened King in Cranford, I am willing to drive upwards of 45 minutes every weekday in crappy weather just to train with him. Don't even get me started about to cancel one of these memberships. I went into Resurgence curious about lifting heavy, with good form and was genuinely greeted with kindness and curiosity. They wanted to know what my goals were and how I wanted to get there. I'm an active woman in my 40's with a previous injury so joining a powerlifting gym could feel intimidating. But this was not the case. I felt very welcomed and got started with one of their trainers, Carl ( the best!!!!) The fees are very reasonable, which has made it possible for me to really commit and frankly change my life. I deal with a lot of caretaking on a daily basis and getting stronger in this space has made that possible without feeling that I am harming my body. Everyone here knows your name and is available to help but you have space to explore and learn on your own. This is truly a place for everyone.

I can't say enough about CFTH. I was hesitant about joining crossfit, I'll admit. I heard all…read morethose horror stories about crossfitters hurting themselves because they went way too hard. CF athletes doing crazy and dangerous lifts and stunts to impress their fellow crossfit bros. And paleo. Paleo everywhere. I'm happy to say that CFTH is not the stereotypical Crossfit box you hear about, and I have nothing but praise for this box. First, the facility is beautiful and spotless. Two people live in my apartment and it's a mess. 50+ people go to CFTH every day and you could lick the floors. They keep the facility up, and have up to date equipment. Second, the coaches are knowledgeable and focus 100% on form and safety. If you look like you're lifting too much weight, they will tell you to try something lighter. If your form is wrong, they will help you fix it so you don't hurt yourself. If you're in pain, they'll tell you to listen to your body and try something different or go foam roll. And if you have an injury, they'll help you change or scale down movements to help you. They really want you to put your health first. So for anyone on the fence about crossfit and joining this box... if you want to become part of a positive community that will push you to work hard while you have fun and see results, CFTH is the facility for you.
