The layout is horrible. This place is always packed so be prepared to wait for everything. At least 6 machines are broken and they've had out of service signs on them for too long. Two cable machines and like 3-4 machines. It's wild. But if you know gym equipment you know why... they for whatever reason decided to be the only LA in town that uses the absolute worst cost cutting machines: Star Trac. If you want private restrooms guess what? Oh yeah the two in the back of the building are locked always with service signs on them as well. I can't make this up. The GMs days are definitely numbered because this type of unkept will lead to him getting let go. You hate to hear it but this is the honest truth. Don't bother with this location unless you don't want to workout or if you want to just ruin your mood for the day.

At Gold's Gym, I meandered from machine to machine, half-heartedly gave the treadmill a go and looked over at the free weights section like it was the boss fight that I wasn't leveled up enough to attempt. I would lose a pound here and there but it was all just so.. boring. Alio doesn't do boring. Every day there's a new circuit that works a different set of muscles than the previous day. Add in the music and lighting and Alio makes Gold's look like the Wal-Mart of gyms. Danny and Sam are amazing trainers. Don't know what the heck a sumo squat pulse is? They're there to demonstrate and watch your form to prevent tweaks. Not sure what weight you should use for a single arm kettlebell swing? They're there to help you figure out what'll work for you. On the other end, if you're someone who loves a challenge, they are ready (and willing!) to make a circuit harder for you like adding in extra cardio and/or going up on the weights/reps. The best part of Alio Fitness Club? Results! I've personally witnessed many people get in shape here ranging from people whose goal was weight loss to others who put on serious muscle, it's always inspiring. There's a lot of interaction between trainers and members, music is great, which makes the workout fun but at the same time challenging too. I've also tried a few yoga classes, which I've enjoyed. One small note: if you forget your own mat, they do provide some, but a few of them are a bit worn--definitely an area that could use some improvement. The pool is on the smaller side with four lanes, and it tends to be busy when I go. I'm not much of a swimmer yet, but I'm hoping to get some laps in. There is something…read moreabsolutely amazing about CrossFit 925 that makes it different from all the other Boxes I've been to. I started CrossFit in 2012 as a way to improve my fitness level. Being active duty at the time and just having a baby I needed to do something. I loved what Crossfit had to offer but was missing something. Fast forward to 2016 and I needed another Box home due to a move. I found CrossFit 925 searching for a Box near me and let me tell you, it was the best thing I could have done. The coaches, the owners and the athlete community here are amazing. Crossfit 925 feels like a home with a second family. Everyone is so inviting and so friendly. There has never been a time that I arrive and I haven't been greeted with a smile. And the coaches, well they care deeply about their athletes not only here in the BOx but outside as well. They take notice when you haven't shown up and they take the time time to text you and/or call you. They ensure that you're moving well and take the time to give that extra needed attention when they see you struggling. The classes here are small, with no more than 15 people per class. So it feels like your always getting a personal training session. What more could you ask for? And the owners Ben and Diana, they are the greatest. They are family-oriented and big on community. Their Box, Crossfit 925, is a safe place to bring your kids and just hang out. I'd definitely come to check it out. I promise you won't regret it. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the owner of the studio as well as the other employees. They offered help in getting me checked in/ setup on my bike but I luckily was OK on these things. Additionally, this location had adorable merch so I had to do some shopping. The instructor all offer a different style of class so there is something for everyone which is nice. I also love that they have a wide variety of class times so I can do early mornings when I'm in town during the work week. The studio itself is well maintained and goes above and beyond with the offer of snacks, mints, hair ties, etc. I love how friendly the other riders are here too as you feel part of the group immediately. I already bought more rides for the next time I'm in town! Definitely worth checking out!
