I live in Houston and go to Cyclebar frequently so wanted to visit while in San Antonio visiting family. I signed up for a morning class on a weekend and had no issues in getting booked. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the owner of the studio as well as the other employees. They offered help in getting me checked in/ setup on my bike but I luckily was OK on these things. Additionally, this location had adorable merch so I had to do some shopping. The instructor all offer a different style of class so there is something for everyone which is nice. I also love that they have a wide variety of class times so I can do early mornings when I'm in town during the work week. The studio itself is well maintained and goes above and beyond with the offer of snacks, mints, hair ties, etc. I love how friendly the other riders are here too as you feel part of the group immediately. I already bought more rides for the next time I'm in town! Definitely worth checking out! read more

I've been cycling for the past year at a place in Waco and I wanted to continue each time I came home to satx. Tried Joyride but it wasn't as organized or welcoming/friendly as I'm use to. Cyclebar is a bit further drive for me but it's so worth it. Today was my first class and it was everything I'd wanted out of a spin class. Loved all the staff! Brittany, my instructor was super motivational and energetic. Falyn at the front desk was rly sweet and helpful. The location is easily accessible, very organized and clean. Really enjoyed the stat screen bc I like to check my rpm throughout my workout. The music was trendy and motivational. I will be recommending this place to friends visiting satx. I am a huge fan of Cyclebar! I'm a member at their Henderson, Las Vegas location and grabbed a 3-class pack to use during my recent stay in SA. Online process was quick and easy, picked my bike in advance and reserved shoes, got immediate email confirmation! Studio is nearly identical to others, check-in process is the same. My 3 classes were all pretty diverse with different instructors and styles: Didi's performance class was super-intense, Katie's classic class was a little more casual with a room full of regulars, and Brittany's Janet Jackson concert ride was different than any other class I've taken, with concert video up on the screens while we rode and several intense hill tracks. This was also the class that was the most full, definitely a fun way to start off the weekend! Went for the free intro to cycling and it was a great experience! Only 30 minutes but it was still an awesome workout. They walk you through how to clip your shoes in - yes you get shoes included like bowling but no extra cost and how to set up your bike. Then they go through the workout to expect when you sign up for the 50 minute class. I'm sure my butt will be sore tomorrow but I'm excited to sign up for the next class which is also free for first timers! Even after the free class, I am prepared to start spending money on classes because they have a lot of fun ones like mimosa Sundays and wine Wednesdays woohoo!! This is the best place to go and not be intimidated by working out in front of people bc the lights are so dimmed try it and have fun!! read more

If I could leave a negative star I would. After being a dedicated member for over a year, sometimes taking 3 rides in one day, investing money into the gym, and developing friendships.... When a cycle instructor doesn't like you for personal reasons outside the gym they have full permission to kick you out of class. I Booked a class online as I always did. Sat in the same bike seat as I always did. And it was a theme ride I've been to before because I enjoyed it. Did I get a phone call notifying me I was kicked out of a class? No. An email from management? ALSO NO. What I did get was a text message the day before. Not even the courtesy of 24 hours before. It read something like .... "hey girl sorry but you can't be in Taylor Moore's class because of her headspace and the issues she has with you right now" I'm sorry what? In what other group fitness gym can you kick someone out (whose already paid) with no valid reason? I should also mention it would have been a MILESTONE RIDE OF 370 rides. But they do not care. They also willfully gave out other members phones but that's neither here nor there. Don't go here. It's not even open. Be prepared to be filled with toxic body image issues and food shaming too. read more

Took my first ride here on Monday and I cannot wait to come back. I hadn't done a cycling class in years and thought that this class would be awkward and embarrassing for me and it wasn't! The staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They take you on a tour when you come in, help you set up your bike and they're not annoyingly pushy to get you to sign up for a membership or anything. I have been going to CycleBar for three years. I love absolutely everything about the studio. My favorite part are the CycleStars. They always give me a really good workout and they are so positive and inspirational, I always have so much fun! Recently Hillary became the newest cycle star and she is just amazing. Hillary is the best person to represent Cycle Bar because she has the passion and the drive to give each studio member or anyone trying out cycle bar for the first time an unforgettable experience. I have tried out many cycle studios in San Antonio; joy ride, gold cycle, and CycleBar. Overall CycleBar Has been the best since day one. Their login system and app for your smart phone is great and their service and bikes are the best. I love going to the studio and it really is one of the best workouts that I experience each and every week. When you walk into a cycle bar you check in at the little iPad and then you get your shoes with the corresponding bike number that you're on. Depending on the ride that you choose there will be a different experience for you. For example, the connect ride will have no numbers associated with it meaning your stats won't be shown on the screens and the purpose of the ride is just to connect with the music and yourself and tune out the numbers. On the other hand, you have the performance ride where are you raised everyone in the studio and if your competitive you can fight for that number one spot on the board throughout the whole class. There is also a classic ride that and incorporates are you bar that you use to do arm exercises during one song. When you go you really don't need anything, they provide shoes and a towel. Oh and don't forget to bring your water bottle they have a nice water fountain that you can use it and a gift to Coldwater that you'll need throughout the ride.If you do forget your water bottle they will provide you with one. Love this place! The people there make you feel like you're part of the team. From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with a smile and feel at ease. I have really been enjoying the CycleBar classes I have attended so far! I bought a Groupon with a coworker and it came with 4 classes. They provide you with water bottles, cold or room temp water, shoes, post work out snacks (bananas or apples), body wipes, towels, lockers and they also have showers available. The cycle studio is dark with fun colored lighting! They have a tv up so you can see (if you choose to sign-up) what ranking you are in the class which depends on how fast, you "power", etc. The music and intensity is dependent on what instructor you sign up for and I would say all the instructors so far have been good. Some, of course, are better than others but once you get to know each one you'll be able to decide who works best for you. I highly recommend trying this place out! read more

I've been going the past few weeks and average three classes, this is a great place, new bikes and they offer shoes if you don't have your own with clips. Additionally, they offer fruit and have water bottles available if you forgot your own or your running in on an empty stomach. The bikes are new, nice and well built. I remember when a Spin class was squeaky fan bikes in a gym. These are not those. The dials and monitors are fantastic. There is a leaderboard that shows your placing. The music, to me, it sucks. I'm not going to dock them a star for their choice in music because it's not my style and it isn't easy to find the appropriate Widespread Panic, Moe or Phish song but I'd sure as hell be happy to let them know what song would work out. I tried a class with my 16 and 17 year old kids and we all three loved it. The employees were friendly, they helped us feel less intimidated, and we got an amazing workout. The kids are high school athletes and were surprised how hard they worked in the CycleBar class. The facility was new, very clean, and upscale. This place is awesome! This was my first spinning class and it was amazing. I was greeted immediately by someone who checked me in. They handed me my shoes, which were provided, then walked me over to my locker. Water bottles are provided and you get an option of room temperature water or chilled water. Next I was walked over to my bike and positioned in correctly. The instructor came over and greeted me as well. Danielle was amazing, she pushes you, the music was great and upbeat. The stats are shown on the screen if your competitive. For being a newbie, I didn't feel out of place or lost, the staff did a great job making me feel welcomed. Afterwards, they have snacks for you! Overall great experience and will become a regular! My only con, is there are not very many classes offered during the day, it seems geared towards the working 9-5 pm. Early a.m. and late evening classes. I'd love to be able to squeeze a cycle in while my kids are in school. read more

I visited CycleBar this past weekend for the first time and was completely blown away! I've been to (almost) all the other cycling studios in the area and while they are all mostly great, they aren't up to the same level of quality as CycleBar. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by multiple people and feel welcomed. Since it was our first time, we were shown where our shoes were (which were already ready for us with our sizes). They took us over to the locker room area and then finally the theater. Now THIS is a theater! It is huge, roomy, complete with a DJ bar, and has beautiful lighting. I love that the bike keeps track of your stats and displays it on the monitor! Also love that they have fresh fruit and water bottles available (because sometimes I forget mine). It's places like this that make working out actually fun and enjoyable. I even find myself looking FORWARD to it! As for pricing, I think it's completely reasonable for the level of quality and service you are getting. Can't wait for my next CycleBar Ride! read more
