I've been going to StretchLab Burlingame for about three months now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've made for my body. Before joining, I was getting a body massage about once a week. Massages are great because they require me to do absolutely nothing , and they definitely help with stress and relaxation. But for me, the benefits always felt temporary. I would feel good during and immediately after the massage, but not long after, my body would pretty much feel the same again. StretchLab has been completely different. Instead of just relaxing my body, I feel like I'm actually working on it. Over time, I've become noticeably more flexible, my body feels more open, and I feel like I have more energy. Until you have a trained Flexologist helping you, you really don't realize how many different stretches there are or how certain movements can open up muscles you normally wouldn't know how to stretch on your own. After working with several different Flexologists, I've definitely developed my preferences depending on what I need that day. When I want a really deep, intense stretch, I tend to book with someone who can apply more strength and really push my range of motion. Other times, I prefer a gentler, more controlled stretch. Everyone I've worked with has brought something different to the session, and I've had great experiences with both the male and female Flexologists. RJ also does a great job keeping us updated on schedule openings and availability, which I really appreciate. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, bright without being overly bright, and very easy to get to. And I have to mention their playlist -- it is OFF THE CHARTS. Whoever is controlling the music deserves some credit too! Three months in, I can actually feel the difference in my flexibility and how my body moves. These stretch sessions WORKS! I've been plague with pain, soreness, tightness or stiffness due arthritis on both feet, back shoulders, knees and hands. Mobility is crucial but because of my joint pains my physical activities were limited to weights swimming, Tai Chi but the stretch sessions have done wonders. My Flexologist, Cristal S. is amazing, knowledgeable and spot on. Her mantra is "what shall we work on today!" It's great because I can tell her exactly what and where the problem areas are and she goes on the attack. I love the tools they use to relieve the pain and stiffness, like the massage guns, the boot socks that get your blood circulating, deep stretches I couldn't do myself and all the surprise tactics she has up her sleeves to get the job done. My husband and I had our initial visit last week and could not be happier we came. The place is located near a Safeway parking lot so parking is not a problem. Their place in Burlingame is clean and not cluttered. The flexologists are nice and welcoming. I appreciate Juliana who put me at ease and explained each step. She works on my focus areas listening and getting feedback often. My husband valued Bob's input teaching him maneuvers to help him with his stretches. You feel that they are genuinely invested in helping you to maintain stretches even beyond your sessions with them. They have packages available but since I travel for work, I opted for walk-in appointments. Best to set up yout next appointment as soon as you know your schedule since they fill up easily. I am a 73 year old male. After 3 years of "physical therapy" with no relief from the pain in my legs. (I tried all of the exercises and none of them worked!) I was using a cane & a walker! I am very happy that I get to enroll at StretchLAb. My range of motion is gone, I cannot raise my arms, and pain and heaviness in my shoulders are my issues. I remember my 1st session, I could not do anything because it was really bad. With RJ G's awesome help, today, I am feeling much better, and I can do my range of motions again. Yay! I've been coming to StretchLab weekly for more than two years and have worked with several of the stretchologists - Tim, Caroline, Juian, Bobby, Layla, and Lorraine (who I worked with for more than a year but she's no longer there.) All of them are great and have their own unique way of stretching you out. Recently, I have been working with Marcella. She is quite strong and does a very thorough job of stretching me out. I always feel loose when I leave. The staff have gone out of their way to accommodate my scheduling requests. read more

Started out great. Very pleased with the stretches and where helpful to relieve aches and pains. I then broke 2 ribs and broke my foot. Had to put services on hold- which they did without an issue. Until a month before I was told I would have to call back to restart or renew my hold, I received an email stating that Stretchlab had charge $349 to my credit card. I contact Stretchlab and was told that the "freeze" on the account was lifted and therefore I needed to pay for the next month. I explained I am still have issues with my foot and that we would be moving therefore needed to close my account and asked that the $349 be reimbursed. After several phone calls I was told that it is policy when a account is closed you still pay for the next month $349. I also said I wanted to close my husband's account and they said he would be charged $349 also. So, if you go to cancel your account beware you will be charged for $349- which they say you can come use or give to another friend. I am moving. I would not send my friend to this business. I am blocking the charges on my credit card as Stretch lab wants us to pay $700 for services not rendered. Basically stealing our money. Very poor business tactics. read more

He's a great listener and a great technician and he challenged me several times to go further. After the stretching, my lower back is always loosened up and so were my hamstrings. Just walked in for my first visit. No one greeted me; I got a few looks up and down but nothing else. Finally one less than friendly girl asks "did you just walk in?" Wtf? Uh yes I did, I have an appointment. She puts down her cup of whatever she was drinking and says I'm with her and to find a table. No offer of where to put my stuff, water, nothing. I ask for a bathroom and a second less than friendly girl who has just walked in with a purple shake of some sort tells me that no, they don't have a working bathroom but I could go to Safeway or the pizza place. I tell them never mind, I'll just wait. I then ask if I should take off my shoes and they say yes and that I need grip socks. Note this was never mentioned when I signed up, and note that I never received an email or text reminder or anything with any kind of explanation of what to expect. Also note that I had on athletic socks, just not with grips. From what I can see with all the other clients, they are on tables and not doing any kind of floor work that would require grip socks. At that point she says I can buy a pair for $16. I say no thanks because by then I have gotten such a nasty feel for this place that I tell them to cancel today's session. They look at each other and shrug and turn away and I walk out. Waste of time and the gas it took me to get here. Now, how do I get a refund? read more

Their accounting/customer service or lack of SUCKS! A friend and I happen to walk by the Stretchlab last Saturday. I booked and prepaid for my first session for Tuesday (3 days later). Upon arriving, I confirmed with the gentlemen that checked me in that the session was prepaid. Upon checking out and confirming again that the first session was prepaid, the charge showed up on my credit card the very next day. After explaining and being hung up on 3 times, the person that finally gave me an answer told me that they only see one charge for the initial appointment and there is nothing they can do EVEN THOUGH I OFFERED TO BRING MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. All the negative reviews stem from their SHADY accounting and customer service. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews before putting my credit card on file. BEWARE! UPDATE Alexa, the manager from the Stretchlab reached out to me a couple of days later but I decided to go elsewhere. read more

I'm pretty active (gym + walking the pup everyday) and definitely the type of person who doesn't include stretching into my daily routine. Range of motion for me definitely needs improvement. Driving by, I was definitely interested in trying this place out! StretchLab offers one-to-one personal stretching sessions in either a 25 or 50-min session. They had an introductory price of $29 for 25min or $49 for 50min, I decided to go with the 50 minute. They accept walk-ins (which is what I did) but I'd recommend calling to book an appointment. My first session was with Reggie. He asked me which areas I felt needed work, so each session is really personalized to you. Reggie was great at directing my on how to position my body, reminding me to breathe and getting me into a comfortable position. They use a scale of 1-10 for tolerance, with 10 being the toughest. He instructed me to let him whenever I got between a 6 or 7, depending on the stretch. I felt comfortable from start to finish. After my session, I could feel all the tingles in my body. Walking out I definitely felt a little more pep in my step and a lot looser. I know Yoga is good for flexibility but honestly being able to lay on a table and have it done for me, is pretty cool.
