I found out about StretchWorkz via the ClassPass app. I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first time receiving stretching services but I will say that I am most certainly a fan and need to incorporate this in my life. I selected the 60 minute stretch session and worked with Dejadee. I appreciated how attentive she was to the areas that I told her I felt most tense with and that she took her time. I was sad the session ended because it was so relieving and soothing. Afterwards, I felt so energized and light. Javon, who helped with checking out was great too. He gave me more information on their plans and rates as well as other promos. I would like to get a membership because I believe it is something that will help with my overall wellbeing. read more

I visited the Bowie location at Gold's Gym today. My stretcher, Ebay, was absolutely amazing. Having an ankle injury and some tightness in my right hip, she talked me through each stretch and "checked in" frequently. Ebay was personable and very knowledgeable. Best. Decision. Ever. I have never been flexible. I've tried Yoga. I love it but have never gotten good at it, because I get so frustrated with how tight my body is. I also suffer from lower back pain and have tried physical therapy and chiropractic. They are both good, but neither offered lasting relief or helped me to become more limber. I don't know yet what the long-term results will be from stretch therapy, but I do know that I received the best stretch I've ever received and feel great! I believe that if I continue, over time I'll become much more limber. I am looking forward to that. Fingers crossed that it will also help my back pain. Stretch DC is run by Tom, who did my stretch session, and his business partner Ben. Tom is great and really made the session fun. Ben was also there with another client and seemed equally great. I've already made my next appointment and hope to be able to continue at least once a month, ideally twice. I'm really glad to have found this place. read more

I was advised to try assisted stretching by a doctor for tendinitis I've been trying to get over. Not only did my sessions at Stretch Workz help alleviate my tendinitis, a whole bunch of aches and creaks and crackles I thought were a natural part of the aging process are GONE. I feel at least ten years younger. I can bend and move in ways I haven't be able to since the 90's, if not the late 80's. I highly recommend you try these sessions. The staff at Stretch Workz are wonderful. Everything is straight forward in the sessions and with regard to billing and scheduling. I was introduced to Stretch Workz through an event that gave complimentary stretches. I received a stretch from Pedro and I seriously didn't realize how much I needed it until he was done. I immediately booked full stretch for the next day. The facility was clean and felt spacious even though it's in an old small office space. The staff was friendly and helpful. After rehabbing a major injury and subsequent surgery I tried out the stretch zone. I had heard pretty good things and read some good reviews but never took the Time to try them myself. After purchasing a Groupon for a 60 minute stretch I must say it was an amazing experience. Since it was my first time they walked me through the history and theory behind the procedures that they would be doing and then also walked me through next steps as I was getting stretched. I was a little sore later that day but felt absolutely amazing. They did tell me about some monthly programs that they have but I have decided to just pay the drop in price when needed. Found this place randomly browsing through Groupon. You have to book an appointment and I did so by phone. Anyways I've always had trouble and disliked stretching even though I understand the importance of it. My job consist of Labor work and being on my feet a lot so my legs have been feeling tight and tense. After my first hour session all that went away. Not only my legs but my whole body felt looser. The stiffness in my legs went away.I booked another appointment right after. They also offer package deals if you are going to be a frequent client. I saw the ad when looking at my email and clicked on it! I am SO glad I did. I saw Phil the first time and if I didn't feel better getting up off the table than when I laid down. It was the BEST thing I have done for my achy body. I would never personally stretch my body like he did. After all, I HATE pain. For my anniversary, I bought 2 and my husband and I had our work done simultaneously in the same room. We had a ball listening to the groans (good ones) of the other. I cannot say enough great things about this place! I was going to get my boyfriend a massage for his birthday but he saw this on groupon and seemed to be so interested in it that I surprised him with a session at stretchworks instead. I actually took him to his appt and waited for him and this is what I found... 1.) Every employee I encountered was not only sweet but very knowledgeable. I'm a nurse and work with PT's a lot and on top of that I lift a lot and I'm a runner as well so I had a lot of questions while sitting there killing time and they were great at explaining everything to me. 2.) While waiting for my boyfriend, one of the therapists (Alex) had a client that was running late so he asked if I wanted a demo stretch while he waited for his client to show up. Of course I was up for it especially b/c I had run hills the night before and knew how tight my hamstrings were. It was only a 5-minute demo but it was AMAZING! The only bad part was that it solidified just how inflexible I am despite having grown up a cheerleader and dancer! 3.) My boyfriend saw Joe and was THRILLED with his experience as well. As a relatively young (32 years old) active couple, we both work out often but don't necessarily make the time to stretch like we should and that can lead to injury, of course. So for us, stretchworkz makes perfect sense and we will definitely be back. But as a nurse and the daughter to two not-so-active parents I am planning to get them in as well. As we get older our flexibility and mobility decreases and as much as it terrifies me, I know that my parents will, some day, probably take a fall. If that happens, I know that if they are more flexible and less rigid they will not be as hurt, if at all! We will DEFINITELY be back to stretchworkz as soon as we can (coming from Arlington is the only downside!). read more

I went for my first massage at Stretchworkz in Silver Spring, MD recently. It was wonderful! The reception lady was charming and accommodating. The room was comfortable. But best of all, the massage was amazing! Clayton Hamburg was so skilled and competent. He was polite and interesting to talk to. He made me feel comfortable right away and did a very thorough intake that covered the status of my health. This was a new type of massage for me. I admit that I am a massage snob because I have been getting massages since the 1970s. And this was a real treat. Tom French is amazing. His knowledge is extraordinary and I'm so happy I'm working with him. He totally understands the problem and we are working to fix it. I went in thinking I must have some neurological issue with my back. After spending an hour with me he was able to pin point the problem which turned out to be tightened ligaments. I now have exercises to do and with time, it is going to get better. I was in a lot of pain and he was very gentle. I walked out of there without pain! I will be back to see him in a month to continue to straighten out this problem. Thank you, Tom!!!! Agree with previous reviews. I loved idea that someone helps you stretch (in some ways you can't at home) and I was not disappointed. Low back pain was gone after my session with Phil who was fun as well as educational throughout the session. He worked harder than I did! I am going back for a full session (used the 1/2 hour session offered through Groupon) Common sense tells you to wear comfortable, stretchy pants, and tops. Breath through your sessions, and be sure to tip (not required but if you have a good session, then why not?) Parking on weekends was easy, but door to building is locked, so Phil was waiting for me in the lobby (awesome). Hope they move to a location where they have easy building access. Great for those considering yoga, know they need to stretch, rehabbing. Great compliment to chiropractic and massage. read more

On Tuesday, I woke up feeling better after a massage or PT than I ever had. I feel the same way today. My reliance on my cane has already lessened. I feel more energy.
