Just a bad experience. I went for a month. The place was dirty, the equipment is outdated and old. Nothing is in good condition. They don't have any real weight lifting equipment so you can't power lift and they basically just want everyone to use light weights and bands. The trainer didn't cancel even when he had a very bad cold so I got sick, he coughed the entire session. He said he didn't want to cancel and it was probably just allergies. In February. If you are hoping to do any cardio or even warm up, forget it. They have a couple ancient treadmills that are always broken. Well, here I am, I am back again to write another review. This place deserves all the continued Praise . I started Fitness Together in the dead of winter in 2022. The beginning of a year and my new path. After being divorced and out of shape from 6 years of care to others, it was time for care for me. Adian was my first trainer and awoken the joy buried deep inside. I got to a place of acceptance and strength with my body. Which I went over in my first review, the amount of growth and joy I experienced. I had reached a stable point and had to leave until I could dig for more gold to one day return. In the dead of winter, I arose once again, I said, I would be back, and I was. This time with Marques as my new guild in my next phase of life. Marques started with goals, but not just physical goals. He set up mental and spiritual growth. I was asked to make a goal that impacted my life. I said, "I wanted to be stable, financially secure, get out of debt, work on my body where I can use my left ,I have cerebral palsy) as well as my right. I wanted the goal of balancing my outer world and inner world. I was blessed with magic! As the months passed, Not only did I become stronger in my body, but step by step, I got a new job, started to learn how to budget, kicked a shopping addition, planned for my future, found an ancient doctor that works for me to balance my pain and last but not least... I experienced true joy, acceptance, and confidence in being me, whole me, flaws that are told are flaws but are things we grow from. I am so grateful to Fitness Together. I started with Fitness Together 2 weeks ago and am SO glad I made the call! I have never been a gym rat but love working out 1 to 1 with a trainer. Fitness Together in Silver Spring has been a fantastic experience. I am in my late 50's and had not exercised on a regular basis since High School. I went to Fitness Together based on their reviews and a referral from a close friend. I feel 100% better and have not been this strong in decades. Better still, my balance and leg strength has improved, and my knee aches and pains are drastically reduced. They did an easy, low key initial assessment to see where I was. The they mapped out a plan specific to me. Their trainers are excellent, and everyone is very friendly. Although I have used several of their trainers, Bryce Holliday is my favorite. He has a great ability to sense how I am responding to an exercise and adjusts the length/weight/reps depending on how I am doing that day. He gives great encouragement and feedback even if he wants me to adjust how I do an exercise. They are very easy to work with when I need to adjust my schedule as well. As with many other people, the new year brought on a resolution to start working out and be healthier. I struggle with where to start, so I decided to look into personal training in the area. I happened upon this location, nearby where I live, and decided to make an appointment for the complimentary session. Boy, was it hard! However, the trainer I worked with was so friendly and explained everything so well. I decided to sign up. Now I just finished week 3 of personal training here and I have already begun to see results. I have lost 5 pounds and in general I have more energy and I'm actually excited to work out! I am really thankful for the friendly trainers and their ability to push you while also checking to make sure you can handle it. It's also great that they use a heart-rate monitor during the session and you get to see how many calories you've burned. I would highly recommend this location! read more

This place is just so good. I don't think the trainers even realize how much of a difference they make on a daily basis. They are so encouraging and the workouts are tailored individually. When I signed up on Fitness Together's website to come in for a free consultation, Clark Sharp, the owner, responded quickly in an email with useful information and said he's contact me the next day. When I received his phone call, he was very informative, answered all my questions, and we made an appointment for me to drop in for a consultation and initial training workout. When I arrived at the gym, I was greeted by Clark and Chris, the manager of the establishment. Chris showed me around and then asked me a series of questions regarding my goals and why I had come in. After a couple of tests (blood pressure and BMI), we commenced the workout. Chris was very thorough in explaining the various exercises and what they were designed to accomplish. The workout itself was strenuous, but not overly so. I definitely worked up a sweat but wasn't completely spent after the workout was finished. I found Chris and Clark to be professional and I got the impression they know what they're doing. The facility itself is small but appears to have everything necessary for fitness training. As I saw that 60th birthday creeping over the horizon, I knew I had to do something about how out of shape I'd become. I'd tried working out on my own, but I'd get bored or work/life would get in the way. I was carrying around 40 extra pounds, gasping up stairs, and just felt awful. I started going to Fitness Together 2 years ago, when I noticed that my cholesterol was elevated and my osteopenia was moving toward osteroporosis. I had always had lower back problems, as well, and was hopeful that weight training would help address all of my issues. Jeri and Evan are genuinely encouraging and place strong emphasis on correct form to prevent injury. I think they get just as excited about my progress as I do! Jeri now e-mails me a workout plan (complete with videos of the exercises done correctly) for each trip based on a photo of the hotel gym. It's that time of year when we are all making healthy lifestyle resolutions, and I wanted to make sure I post my review in time for people to see it. I'll start by saying that I spent between $5000 and $6000 on BAD personal training in the DC area over the past 6 years. It was a combination of trainers not working me hard enough, working me too hard to the point of causing injuries, missing my sessions without giving me any notice, being preoccupied on a smart phone during training sessions, etc. So I was really hesitant about dropping a lot of money on PT again, but I had a baby earlier this year and was having terrible joint pain in my knees for 4+ months. I needed to make a change. After researching PT studios, I settled on Fitness Together. I remember that September day walking to the studio for my free initial assessment. I had parked a block away and I was out of breath by the time I got to the studio. My goal wasn't even weight loss; my goal was just to make the joint pain go away and have more energy so I could keep up with my baby. Now, about 4 months later, I can resoundingly say that this was the BEST INVESTMENT I have made in a long time. Knee joint pain? Gone! Energy level? Up! Weight loss? Yes. Stronger? Yes. And I just mentally feel better. I have rotated among all the trainers, and they are all superb. I should also mention I have some partial paralysis in my left leg, and all the trainers were very good about modifying exercises and putting together programs that would still allow me to get an effective workout. There were times I thought I wouldn't be able to physically do an exercise because of my paralysis, but the trainer would make me try anyway (not pushy, just a gentle nudge to try), and to my surprise, I was able to pull it off. Fitness Together Silver Spring is great! This is the first Yelp review I've written which really goes to show how good they are. The gym is very well-equipped, and I've worked with almost all the trainers who know just how to push you, while preventing injury, and still making it a good and enjoyable workout. I usually go in at 6.45am for a personal training session, and I actually look forward to and really enjoy it (which is very unlike me as I'm not a morning person). Each session is different, and tailored for you. This keeps me motivated, and because they keep track of your progress and personalize each workout, you can see your improvements over time (heavier weights!). They also e-mail me recipes and help keep me on track. They track your metabolism at the start, take measurements to keep you on track, and track your heart rate during your workouts to make sure you're training optimally. This is a wonderful group of trainers...all of whom are very comfortable to be around, provide great training, and are fun to chat to as you're working out. It really doesn't get more personalized than this, and I've learnt a lot that I can apply in my apartment gym on my own as well. I'd highly recommend them!! read more
