Both the two times I was here I was sitting at the large table, which could comfortably accommodate 12 people each, while it wouldn't be too close to get awkward with you are sharing the long table with other groups. The menu is roughly split into three categories, the deep fries, the seafood, and other classic Cajun dishes. The deep fries bucket is madness. Pick your fries, your accompaniment (corn, curly fries, or potato wedges), and your favor, and you are set. Seriously, I could come here just for the deep fried chicken tenders, scallops or soft shell crabs. The seafood was great too. I tried the (whatever-I've-forgotten-the-name) crab, and the crawfish and the king crab legs. They were mental. It's probably due to the fact that it's my first time I ever had seafood in a traditional Cajun low country boil technique, but the rich in favor was certainly memorable. If there's one thing I had to nitpick, that would be the market price of the seafood. It's understandably pricey, so just like Bistecca, this is not your usual dinner every night, but more for special occasions. Now off to something really different. Their "nuclear wings challenge" on Wednesday. So the challenge was 12 nuclear wings in 5 minutes. WARNING: the sauce consists of ghost peppers and two other chili I never wanted to remember the names. How many did I have? I had ONE wing, both times. Yes I was silly enough to try the second time. Tears in my eyes and fire in my mouth (and in my pants, the day after). But if you do think that you can eat spicy, you know where to go! There is a tap and sink in the smack middle of the restaurant, which is very considerate; don't think I've seen any other seafood place in HK that would commit precious floor space to customer-comfort but non-revenue-generating furnishings. The menu is obviously tailored toward groups of four or more, with most portions made large for sharing - true to their ideology of family, friends, good food and great party. Some like their seafood with white wine, I like mine with beer, especially when it's hearty and Cajun! It's a little pity that they only have Carlsberg and three craft beers (Dirty Bastard, Big Wave and Great White). Be prepared to get your hands dirty digging into the seafood! But fear not for your clothes, for aprons are provided to keep you stain free. The flavors are big and bold and do not disappoint! Seafood is fresh (obviously, they were still swimming in the tank before I picked) and mostly imported. With the advent of Beef & Liberty and Butchers Club Burger, it seems that the humble burger is making some waves in the culinary scene in HK. Well, Big Bite has been a little known stalwart in the burger kingdom for sometime now, and for good reason. They serve a simple menu of burgers and dogs, with various fries and drinks. I say simple, because by concept it is. However, the menu may betray otherwise, as it is a bit of a head bender trying to workout what is and is not in the meal deal etc. So remember to pull out your PHD in statistical analysis before embarking into the menu. Alternatively, just point and grunt. The burgers are brilliant. 100% ground US beef, they are cooked really nicely, so they retain that lovely crumbly dry texture, without being just mince in a bun. The bun is a lovely soft and light wisp of a thing, perfectly framing the pattie and whatever else you can cram in. Unfortunately, I do have a grumble though, the burger was a bit luke warm, and I put this down to the service. I don't know what is going on with the service, but it sucks. It's not even a proper restaurant, in that you order and pay at the counter before taking a table, but even with only one part of the waiting service to do (i.e. bringing me my burger), they take an absolute ice age, bring everything at differing times, and forget stuff. The total result is a cold burger, followed 10 mins (and three requests) later with poutine that is hotter than the sun. Unfortunately, this sucky service puts a big black mark across the food. I doubt that the chef likes his burgers to be cold at the table, unless that is the Canadian style of serving them? Definitely give it a go, as you can get a really good burger for much less than the fancy boys. Just keep on top of the wait staff and get your food out at the same time - hot. Maybe sit up by the pass at the high tables, so you can be all over them. One last brownie point; they have an excellent selection of beers, and on Tuesdays, you can add HKD3 with any beer purchase for buffalo wings - get out the blue cheese!

This nice lady has a very bright and amazing life. She is not young anymore, so she stays in her cafe together with her 100 yo husband and assistants, but she used to travel a lot and she keeps all her memories like photos, brochures or drawings in her cafe. She likes meeting people and asks her visitors to write something in the guest book and to take a photo with her. I went through 3 photo books of her visitors. Some come back every year, some send personal gifts. And she remembers everyone. I also got a nice print of her husband's drawings as a present. Come here for tasty food, stay here to celebrate life.
