The ice cream is not homemade. They source it from another creamy in the area. I was a little bummed because I thought they made their own ice cream flavors. With that said, I ordered the coconut with extra gummy bears. The coconut has chunks of chocolate chips and a light coconut taste. The coconut is very subtle and not overpowering. The ice cream is creamy and the coconut makes every bite refreshing. As far as the gummy bears they mixed well with my coconut ice cream because the gummy bears were of tropical flavor. So if you are ordering the gummy bears, be aware they are not the traditional gummy bear flavors. The gummy bears are tropical fruity flavors like banana, mango and piña colada. It's a fun surprise. If you order a cup, you also can add two toppings for free. How cool is that?! The service is so friendly and so warm! However, it's not the best ice cream I've ever eaten. read more

The ice cream here is quite good, particularly the coconut flavor. You get the first two toppings free, so obviously I got mini m&ms and rainbow sprinkles, although they have a number of other options. They give you a huge portion for each topping, which is nice but also has the drawback of masking the flavor of the ice cream. Sadly, it was a little hard to taste the coconut with a couple of sprinkles and m&ms in each bite. Also, the ice cream is pretty cheap given how much ice cream and toppings you get ($3.50 for a medium). The people working in the truck were very friendly and even upgraded our sizes without mentioning it. This ain't yo' mama's ice cream truck. Street Cream serves up ice cold deliciousness by the cup. It's slightly confusing that they have the flavors listed on the side of the by both their "street" names and their regular names (side by side), it's a pinch. $2.75 for a small-sized (but heaping!) cupful of creamy, dreamy ice cream. I've tried Street Cream a couple of times now, and have yet to be disappointed. I nabbed their monthly special "Cherry Blossom" ice cream after my food truck lunch the other day, and it was the best decision EVER. The ice cream had TONS of real cherries in the mix, and was the perfect amount of sweetness. I'm salivating just thinking about it -- I want them to make it a permanent addition to their menu! If you see this truck rolling around (it was in L'Enfant/FAA this past Thursday) and are in the mood for something sweet, definitely give this truck a try! They are a very responsive food truck team, that definitely has their stuff together. I was able to communicate with them my extreme desire to taste their desserts and by golly they made it happen with the quickness. My go to so far has been the brownie sundae which is "like that"! You scream, I scream, hit the streets, and grab yo' spoon! Discovering food trucks is the best thing to happen to me in 2013 so far. My one year anniversary comes in a close second. After checking food truck fiesta, and seeing "Street Cream," I had to bite. The first thing I noticed, was the ice cream flavors have their regular names, and then their street names. So, vanilla ice cream aka nilla ice struck my fancy. The prices are super cheap, and the first two toppings are free (with plenty to choose from). I opted for a medium nilla ice with chocolate syrup and crushed cookies for $3.50. This was bigger than the "love it" size at Coldstone. Plus, it comes with the cutest spoon. The best part has to be the flavor! This is some high quality ice cream. The chocolate syrup was good, and they gave me a heaping of cookies. The good kind. Honestly, I liked this better than coldstone, and I love coldstone! The truck is fun, and the two gals working were super nice and friendly. I'm a fan! read more

Wow what a great place to just happen to run into. With the family in D.C. sight seeing, we walk out of the Air and Space Museum around the corner and see a line of lunch trucks. After lunch my 12 year old announced "its never too cold for ice cream", well she's right. We shared (it was 40 and windy) a milk shake that was off da hook! Absolutely incredible. Piece of advise, start with desert then have lunch, that way you will always have room. While waiting, the ladies of SC gave us some great inside info on what to do over our stay and well, went out of their way to make it a great day. We will be looking them up during our next visit to the Capitol. Hopefully it will be warmer out. read more

Butter pecan is my absolute favorite ice cream flavor and theirs is wonderfully creamy, buttery, and tasty!! I got the cake sundae and the pound cake is sooo good. Amazing ice cream! Cheap prices, two free toppings and hefty servings!!!! Every time I go into the city I look for the truck! The fun flavor names is an added bonus! A small is about $2.75 a medium is a dollar more and a large is two dollars more than the small. Also the music that they play is fun to. A must see!!!! read more

I cannot believe I am the first to write about Street Cream! This ice cream truck showed up at L'Enfant Plaza (7th & Maryland Ave SW) today and I was delighted. Lots of interesting flavors, unusual toppings (I might have to try potato chips one day) and what have to be THE friendliest food truck vendors yet! They were encouraging sampling, and the portions (sample and for sale) are truly generous. They discuss their flavors, seem to like feedback, and the whole experience was just fun. And tasty!! The ice cream is very very good. Very fresh. The Mangled Mint is a mint chocolate chip (I am an expert at mint chocolate chip) with a nice burst of mint flavor and pieces of chocolate you can actually taste (not frozen brown shavings as so often happens). My colleague had butter pecan (of which he has tried every one on earth) and declared it excellent. I sampled the coffee but since I was also drinking an iced unsweetened Starbucks, I had a problem tasting it with any accuracy. And yes, you can get two flavors in one serving. I hear the strawberry calling me. And the chocolate. I have hight hopes for them and hope they come back toL'Enfant soon. Good luck ladies! read more

I am a self-proclaimed ice-cream aficionado, I eat ice cream every single day, and this truck has got to be my favorite. While their "street" menu is admittedly hard to read and also pronounce, they are indeed the friendliest food truck ever and will answer any questions you might have. Their portions are generous, the toppings are free - yes, free - and the prices are hard to beat. Their ice cream has a really creamy consistency and is deliciously flavored. Okay, so any ice cream is gonna taste good after walking for miles in 93 degree heat in the middle of the day. But what an incredible treat to find this truck on the National Mall last Saturday... for $4.50 I ordered a large serving for myself... it's a huge portion of premium ice cream that's among the best I've tasted anywhere in the nation, from Hawaii to Maine. Grandma was great at reeling me in with her sweet talk and glossy brochures, and the young gentleman in the truck serving up this goodness was quick, efficient, and accommodating, and very personable. I had scoops of coffee and chocolate, and loved it. My sons had a strawberry sundae and a chocolate shake, they were in heaven. Big portions for all of us, and did I already mention five bucks a serving? Oh, and only a buck for a bottle of cool water to wash it all down, when every other truck is trying to charge two bucks or more.
