Brisket pho

Checked this Food Truck out. I was able to order online for nearly immediate pick up I ordered: PANDASTIC Shrimp Shumai ($8.99) - looks nothing like the photo. Smaller pieces, came with dipping sauce. These were good. EXTRAPHOGANZA Super Tender Brisket ($13.99) - looking nothing like the photo. The brisket looked really mushy. No taste, I wasted this

I get excited every time the Hangry Panda food truck comes to my job! I preorder for lunch and my order is always on time. They're also really welcoming. Their Asian fusion tacos are absolutely delicious. You can't go wrong with the shrimp or lemongrass chicken. The flatbread has the perfect texture, and the crisp, tangy pickled vegetables complement the flavors beautifully. The portions are satisfying, but the lemongrass chicken tacos are particularly hearty and will definitely fill you up. Every bite is a treat, and I can't recommend them enough!

Shrimp Tacos in a crispy flatbread

This food truck is AMAZING!! Food is delicious and fresh. Large portions. Price are reasonable. You can order ahead and schedule pick up time. Hands down one of the best meals I have eaten!!! I had the Shrimp tacos in a crispy flatbread and my husband had BigDaddy Hotmess. YUMMMM!!

Hangry Panda has been on my list of Asian fusion restaurants I've been wanting to try in DC, so was I excited to find their food truck in Vienna! Yay :D saved me a trip! The line to order was sooo long but then I learned (from someone else in line--thank you!) it's faster to order online :) I was thrown off because I didn't know how to order from a food truck (the menu requires a location) but it turns out all food trucks stops are listed so you just have to search your zip. Being the most popular food truck at the event, I was not surprised that the wait was longer than the 5-min the website promised...but it wasn't too long. I think I got my food in about 20 min. I was also worried about taking food to go (home) to eat, but fortunately it was all still delicious! The beef tacos were wrapped in spring onion pancake (cong you bing) and had stewed beef with Vietnamese style pickled daikon (or is it onions?) The spring rolls have beef in it (Vietnamese style) and was also much more substantive than some of these other spring rolls. I just wish it had come with a sweet and sour sauce :( Bam bam chicken is fried and came with tater tots (surprise!) also very good with yummy sauce. I wish this had come with a) more mayo sauce and b) hot sauce. :3

One and a half stars, we won't be back for their neighborhood food drops. They've gotten rid of the dumplings on their menu, which is unsurprising when those were so greasy and bland. Same thing with their Thai iced teas since they were more than half creamer. Their BDHM taught me that I like their tots more than their fries, and that their fried chicken is so dry that no amount of sauce can save it. Brisket tacos were pretty good, but the pho we had on our first visit was nothing to write home about. Since the expansion of their menu, preorder means nothing to them, and Hai is one of the worst food truck expediters I've ever seen. On our second visit, I arrived at the truck at the preorder time and gave my name along with two other people. Red flag number one: "I'll put you in queue." Shouldn't my preorder already be in queue? One of them nagged for updates, but I tried to be chill since I figured that the less talking they did, the more food they'd be packing up. While I watched and waited beside the truck, a bag of food waiting to be picked up slid off the window ledge and hit the ground, but he didn't even bother to check to make sure everything inside was still okay. I get it, they're busy, but given how rainy it was, I hope no mud got into that bag! Thirty minutes into my wait, the two people I had arrived with received their pho preorders and departed. Forty minutes into my wait, I noticed the person who had arrived after me received their pho and left. I asked for an ETA on my order and Hai said "you're 5th in line." Great, he misplaced my preorder? Without any orders being handed out, I listened to him tell two other people who asked for updates that they were also 5th in line. Great, so I basically got a generic line to make me stop asking for updates. Fifty minutes into my wait, I hear my name called. I'm so excited! Nope, false alarm: Hai tells me, "We're out of pho, so we'll have to cancel that part of your order." So not only did you basically lose my place in line, you also basically gave away my dinner as a result of your own actions. Sixty-five minutes into my wait, I get my husband's dinner order and go home to make myself dinner.

Gyoza, spring roll, & Panda Special Pho

We got to enjoy Hangry Panda during our neighborhood's weekly food truck night! I'm so glad we ordered the Special Panda Pho, spring rolls, and gyoza- it was all so delicious. I really thought their pho broth was perfect- not too salty and not too bland. There was a beautiful complexity to their broth that I haven't found at many pho places in the area. I wish they came to our area more often! Panda Special Pho: a combo of Lemongrass Chicken, tender Brisket and Beef Meatballs immersed in a flavorful beef bone-broth. They provided a bag on the side packed with bean sprout, Thai basil, Jalapeños, a lime slice, sweet Hoisin sauce and Sriracha. There was definitely a party in my tummy after dinner!

Loaded Brisket Tater Tots with Bang Bang Sauce

This is my new favorite food truck in DC, maybe ever! When they visited my apartment complex for their Wednesday food truck feature, I wasn't in the mood for Chinese food, but my boyfriend checked it out and brought these brisket tater tots home. It was some of the best food truck food I've ever had! The tots were perfectly crunchy, the brisket was flavorful, and the jalapeños were a great touch. Their Bang Bang sauce was the real showstopper though! I would easily pay $12.99 for these again, especially because only half of the serving is filling enough. However, I would suggest splitting them with someone rather than using them as leftovers, as they don't reheat well. The staff were great too. Highly recommend supporting this local business!

Lemongrass Chicken tacos, Brisket tacos

When I went to pick up my order, the owner Peter greeted me and had my order waiting for me. Even after receiving my order he thanked me! I ordered the Hangry Panda special, Brisket tacos and Lemongrass Chicken Tacos. Hangry Panda Special- the pho broth was robust and flavorful with cinnamon undertones, perfect to warm me up from the cold winter doldrums. There was a generous portion of rice noodles, diced lemon grass chicken and meatballs. It also came with a packet of fresh bean sprouts, basil, wedge of lime and small packets of sriracha and hoisin sauce. Brisket tacos- The two tacos were larger than I expected (about 9" diameter), a good thing to fill my belly. I would compare the wrap to a Chinese scallion pancake or a slightly thinner Korean pancake. It is on the more oily side compared to a traditional flour tortilla. Inside the taco was a small bed of shredded lettuce and carrots, resting on top were 8-10 pieces of juicy (not dry) brisket with a drizzle of Yum Yum sauce. The first bite was extraordinary, exciting my tastebuds! It took some self-restraint not to inhale the taco in record time. I enjoyed every bite, down to the last morsel of lettuce resting in the creamy Yum Yum sauce. Lemongrass Chicken tacos- Similarly wrapped like the Brisket taco, the Lemongrass Chicken tacos were equally enjoyable. Diced chicken was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. As with the brisket taco, there was a nice surprise of finely minced lemongrass in each bite that added to the exceptional flavor of an epic taco. Can't wait for another divine meal from Hangry Panda!

All their items are made-from-scratch, and the menu seems to rotate occasionally. I love how it is simplified where you choose a $10 or a $15 main, which both options come with 2 sides of your choice, wheat or white toast, and a small canned juice. We ordered: +the Shrimp & Grits - the grits were the best grits I've ever had - they were thick, creamy, cheesy, and seasoned perfectly! I'd probably order this dish again, without the sausage, and opt for more cheesy grits as my 2 sides to load it up! +the Cheesecake Stuffed Peach Cobbler French Toast - this wasn't as overly sweet as I thought it would be, which was great; I think we'd go for the simple French Toast or the pancakes next time, though +Old Bay Maple Breakfast Potatoes - the Old Bay seasoning was subtle, and these large chunks of breakfast potatoes were more on the sweeter end +Scrambled Eggs +Turkey Sausage Link +Turkey Sausage Patty +pineapple and cranberry juice I noticed that the cranberry juice had expired, but it was easy to replace it with another drink of choice. Staff were friendly, but note that depending on the queue, you may wait for some time for your food, as it's all made-to-order; we waited for ours for about 12 minutes or so, and everything came piping hot! The portions are extremely generous and can feed at least 2 people or be split into 2 meals. Note that there are small little ordering cards to place your orders through; hand them to the staff, and they'll give you an estimated wait time. Most seem to get their items to go, as this is a food truck and there is no seating area. I'd be curious to try out any other additions they may add to their menu in the future, but I would definitely come back for those grits! +delicious grits! +friendly staff! +food truck located on Pennsylvania, in front of the shopping center

First off the price you can't beat for what they call a "plate" you get a main, two sides, piece of toast, and a juice! They have 10$ and 15$ priced plates. I got two of the 15$ plates the salmon cake and the berry stuffed cheesecake French toast with the eggs and the old bay maple potatoes. The old bay maple potatoes!!!! So good! The salmon cake was the best I've ever had! Hearty in size. I also tried the new grits bowl they had on their menu. Grits, fried chicken, eggs, cheese, hash browns, and gravy ..tooo goood! Service was also great and timely had all my food in about 12 mins. The girl in the window was really nice and helpful. I will deff be back here! Highly recommended!

I've been to TaKorean twice and both times I leave with a happy belly and a smile. Our go-to family favorites are the Avocado Fries, Birria Ramen, and Nori Tacos. The avocado fries are lightly breaded and dusted with a spicy powder - they're the perfect combination of crispy and creamy and come with a dipping sauce that has a bit of sweetness to it. If you can't handle spice, they can adjust it for you, but I absolutely love the Birria ramen which is a mixture of their plain ramen broth (not spicy) with their guajillo consomme (packs a nice kick). Disclaimer - the ramen has egg in it - which isn't mentioned on the menu, so just something to be aware of. I've had it twice and both times there was egg - which I didn't mind at all, but it was unexpected. My husband has tried the beef birria, bulgogi, nori, spicy fire, and crispy shrimp tacos, but his favorite is the nori which has a crispy seaweed shell and spicy tuna with avocado to cool it off. We've also tried the loaded buldak fries, shrimp burger, and beef bulgolgi bowl - all had great flavor, but my kids definitely can't take the heat - so we'll have to modify next time we come in.
