Their selection of other items, actual electronics and accessories, is lacking and overpriced. The 99¢ store next door has some of the same items for much less (obviously). Since son Travis took over the business (after pop died too soon), the service has gotten better! I ordered a part, was told to give it a few days, but then got a call the very next day to say the part had arrived. What? Really? And there it was. Travis is sharp and knowledgeable and will steer you to what you need on the fly, while Kurt is fixing about anything in back. Highly recommended if you are not sure what electronic piece of the puzzle you need. Also, their reburbished monitors and desktops, etc. are excellent deals. Pretty good selection for materials. I was in the area and was searching for a place that had an Ethernet cord and a AC/DC car adapter splitter for my IPOD and my GPS. They had it in stock, it is in this strip mall area adjacent from the Payless Drug store. They had a pretty decent selection on computer parts and accessories as well, it's a good option if your in the area, I combed the streets looking for an electronics shop when I was passing through Half Moon Bay and didn't want to have to turn around and drive back to San Mateo. The employees here were friendly enough, a little bit on the light side staff wise, so be patient, they'll get to you as soon and possible, and considering that there aren't any other shops that cater to this area, their prices are pretty reasonable. read more

My sad phone died that day in my jeans so I was ready to go anywhere possible to replace it as soon as possible. Starflower Electronics had a very very very limited supply of T-mobile phones. It was between this older phone and a supremely older phone. I was overpriced for the phone I got and wish they had a better selection. Broke my phone while fixing it. I overpaid to get my screen (iPhone 6) replaced here, and now the home button is loose. Apparently there's nothing SE can do to fix the issue they created. They also didn't offer a refund or coupon or apology. So I would definitely not recommend them. read more

I've just installed my first CB radio in my truck (for off road communication NOAA weather and channel 9 only, honest!) being a complete newbie on this stuff I needed help to tune the antenna. Apparently you need a SWR meter to do this, not something you can pick up at Radio shack. The owner of the store took time to personally come out to my truck in the parking lot and walk me through the procedure to tune my set using the stores own SWR meter ($15 to rent). It turns out that I have a faulty ground on the set up. I offer to pay him and he turns down my money, "pay me later when you get it fixed" he says. Now that is customer service, these guys rock. I fact I was so impressed I went back the next day and spent $200 in the store on some other electronics I needed instead of going to Radio shack. I went to buy a replacement power source for my laptop. I was working on a rush job and I didn't want to take the time to drive over the hill for it. Not only was the young man behind the counter pleasant and helpful and quick, instead of selling me a $50 item that I didn't need, he let me know it was only the $10 part that needed replacement. He had been a valuable resource for me over many years & a pleasant man with whom to deal & answered questions & solved many problems. His son, Eric (?), is also very helpful & is following in the footsteps of his dad. The technician, Kurt, lacks in personality but makes up for it in his technical expertise. Horrible customer service. I came in on Monday, to find out if they could repair my computer that had missing screws and the nice guy said that his tech guy was not here and I should come back tomorrow, and I was fine with that. So I came in on Tuesday and a different guy was there and had a very poor attitude. He accused me and said someone took my whole computer apart and he kept complaining. I told him that was not the case and he said then it must have been dropped. Instead of helping me he was accusing me of what happened to my computer. He told me that it would cost $45 to repair and the computer still might not work after it was repaired. I told him okay and then the tech guy came and they were just complaining how much work it would be to repair and how long it would take they said it was "an hour worth of work" and before they would say it would take 30 minutes, now it is going to take one hour, and then he said it might be ready tomorrow. Then after I signed the paper to get it repaired I said it is $45 right? Just to make sure it was $45 and he said it could be more money and they would call me if it is more money which was very frustrating because he said it was $45. When I called them after I left the store, he had a bad attitude, again. He also mentioned again that someone took it apart or dropped it. Then he raised his voice and was rude. He also said it might be ready tomorrow. I said I would take my computer back. When I took my computer back the rude guy would not look at me and the nice guy gave me back the computer and was very polite. I do not recommend taking something in for a repair. I will take my business elsewhere. read more
