I hate to leave a bad review but I swear they didn't even dry clean my clothing. It doesn't smell clean, none of the stains were removed and everything is wrinkled. I asked why no stains were taken out and they were worried about damaging the clothing. However this was not relayed to me at time of drop off. Lastly I came on Saturday at 9:15 am and the door was locked despite the open sign being on, after waiting 10 minutes I left as I was in a hurry and wasn't anticipating picking up dry cleaning to take more than 15 minutes. Now that the Shelter-in-Place restrictions have eased up and businesses are slowly re-opening, I've decided to clean up my act. And by that, I mean get my car washed, get my hair cut, and take my clothes to the dry cleaner. After all, it's been 3+ months. I'm tired of wearing the same damn outfit. Unfortunately, the two local cleaners that I've been using these past few years have closed shop. So it was time to find a new go-to. Fortunately, I found Strawberry Cleaners on Yelp! I can't believe I've never been here before. They're only a mile away from where I live. And they couldn't be friendlier. They do regular cleaning, dry cleaning, and alterations. They have plenty of free parking out in front. And they're pricing is reasonable. So happy to have discovered this local business. While I'm sad to have to give this local family-run business a poor review, it is unfortunately due to inappropriate and unprofessional behavior by their seamstress on staff, as well as a poor work product resulting in a ruined item. Our family had come here for dry cleaning regularly and while they don't have on premises cleaners, so it isn't always time efficient, they did seem cost effective and the family running it are friendly. I had a terrible customer service experience while going in to have a button added to a new shirt I had just purchased and had never worn, that needed an extra snap to hold the material flat. Not only was the shirt ruined by the addition of a snap that leaves a lumpy (not invisible) connection on the shirt, because it was poorly sewn, but the snap she added actually doesn't close, so the shirt keeps popping open. I also noticed a new oil stain on the shirt while it was still in the packaging, and tried to point this out only to be called 'ridiculous' and some other choice names by the seamstress on staff, who then insisted I must have brought it in with a stain. I tried to explain it was a new shirt but the seamstress who had done the work immediately became angry and confrontational. I decided to leave because no one wants to be yelled at while picking up their dry cleaning. I called and left a message for the owner, because presumably she would want to make it right, and would want to know about an employee acting inappropriately, and I left some details about the interaction on the answering machine, but never got a call back. I cannot recommend strawberry cleaners enough for their help and support with a recent alteration! I'm 5 months pregnant and struggled with a bridesmaid dress that needed to be ordered 8-12 weeks in advance. I'm a first-time mom and this was incredibly stressful because I had no way to predict my future size, and I couldn't just order another dress last-minute if the one I picked didn't fit-- which it did not. It's my best friend's wedding and I had no other option but to put my faith in Strawberry cleaners to let out my dress somehow. The couple that owns this storefront worked SO hard on my dress. They called me to come in several times to make sure it was perfect, and they made it work right down to the wire so that it would accurately fit my current size. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have a dress that fits and looks nice on me after so much worry. Best of all, they charged me an extremely reasonable rate for all of the alterations. I used to go to a place in Larkspur that I honestly think would have charged 3-4x as much. I cannot thank the owners enough. They never made me feel bad about my situation, and if they were worried it wouldn't work, they never showed it. I went here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately had a terrible experience. I had a pair of pants hemmed. I tried them on there and they pinned them. The first pin was too short so I asked her to re-pin longer. Nevertheless, they came out too short, thereby ruining the pants. I took them back and explained what had happened and had them re-do them to capri pants, since that was the only way to salvage them. When I went to pick them up, she charged me full price for the second hemming. I explained again that the problem was their mistake and she actually said to me "that's not my problem". I didnt really get the hype over a dry-cleaning place. But alas, I needed some dry cleaning done as well as some mending and why not try a place that comes so well recommended? You can immediately tell that this business is family run. The girl at the from was really really friendly (the way to my heart) through the sign up process. It may seem small, but I would always rather go to a place that personalizes the experience than one in which the employees just go through the motions. We had brought in a sort of project (involving sewing parts of a pair is jeans into a denim shirt that had been ripped), and I wanted to know how much out would cost. She asked her mother (I believe? ) and they quoted us a very fair price. At the end, we had sparkly clean clothes (and done eco-friendly) as well as a kickass shirt (just take my word for it, denim shirts it's where it's at). I don't think you can actually appreciate this cleaners unless you live in Marin and realize just how hard it is to find a reliable and reasonably priced cleaners. If I could give this business over 5 stars I would, the owner is super professional, and will always do a good job. The price is about 1/3 of the average cleaner in Marin. Found this place through Yelp. I have to drive past several other cleaners including "green" cleaners. I thought I would give it a try a few times then switch. I've gone several times already and I'm staying with this cleaner. The woman who I think owns it works there everyday it seems. She is nice and friendly. We haven't had one problem with the clothes we've brought over there. The prices are great (way less than what I paid in my old hometown). I haven't had any alterations done yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring them there. Caveat, I am almost never in a hurry for my clothes to be ready, it may be an issue because it seems to take a few days to be ready for pick-up. My old cat had a bladder control issue on my expensive down comforter one night, so I rushed it in to Strawberry Cleaners first thing the next morning in hopes they could eliminate the stench. I relied on all the great Yelp reviews to be my guide and they weren't wrong. Though it took four days to get it back, not only was it cat pee-free, but they got it whiter than it's been in years! Unfortunately, the cat smell was stubborn so they had to redo it, which accounted for the delay, but the owner went above and beyond in making sure I could get it at a time that worked for me. Just came to pick up a dress and a few other items. The lady at the desk charged me $25 and then as I was leaving she told me that she had charged me someone else's bill. She then told me my dress was $20 and that she needed to charge me almost double the bill. Then she kept sifting through the papers on the counter since she wasn't sure what to charge. I told her that sounded like a lot for the dress and that didn't make sense. She told me that 'I was very complicated' and was pretty rude about what was clearly her mistake. This business needs to get their act together since they clearly don't know what to charge and for what items. Never coming here again. read more

I brought in a very expensive Burberry trench coat (with a belt) to be cleaned and when I got home I noticed the belt was missing. I drove back and the Co-owner (Hanna) said the plant where it's cleaned had dropped it, but they had it and would bring it back that night. She told me to show up again the following morning when they opened and they'd return the belt. I arrived and she wasn't working that day and the employee had no idea what I was talking about. The employee made multiple phone calls only for me to be told the plant had lost the belt and the plant would contact me to try to fix it? I just said I wanted the belt or be reimbursed. They had me speak with both the plant and Hanna's husband (the co-owner) who were both super rude and not apologetic. He screamed at me at one point. The plant said they would only reimburse me IF I had both the receipt + photos from a coat I bought several years ago? Otherwise, they didn't care and weren't going to do anything?! You literally cannot wear the coat without the belt? I called Burberry and they don't have the coat or the belt anymore, so I now have a coat I cannot wear? Their customer service and the way they handled the situation could not have been worse! I will NEVER go there again. read more

Switched to them after being ripped off by local pickup/delivery dry cleaning service that consistently, yet randomly, charged for hand finishing linen shirts ($8 per shirt for laundering!) when we didn't have any linen shirts. As someone who wears a suit and tie on a daily basis, I am picky about who does my dry cleaning / laundry. Strawberry Cleaners are the best cleaners in Marin County period. They literally stayed open 30 minutes later than closing time when I needed them to and they are a joy to interact with. They handle my clothes better than i do and are faster than anyone else in the area. I will never go any other place. Vogue and Tiburon cleaners are jokes compared to these guys. I've lived in Mill Valley for a number of years, but used a San Francisco dry cleaners for my dry cleaning needs. When my San Francisco cleaners closed down their operations I decided to support my local community with a local dry cleaners. I read the reviews of dry cleaners in Mill Valley and decided to trust my clothes to Strawberry Cleaners. Today I picked up the three cashmere sweaters, one silk sweater with beading and one pair of trousers. The charge was $48.20. That comes to almost $10.00 per item. I fully expected the beaded silk sweater to be more expensive, but $48.20 for five items was stunning. Sadly I am still looking for a cleaning establishment in Mill Valley. read more

I found Strawberry Cleaners after a bad experience with a dry cleaner in San Rafael. Strawberry did a much better--no, a fantastic job. I had them do medium starch on my shirts, and they always held up well. Everything was spotless, they got out mustard stains, and they are super friendly. Unfortunately, my experience with this business has not been as positive as previous customers. I initially went to Strawberry Cleaners to have some drapes altered. The first pair they altered was acceptable. The second pair I took to the store had nearly a two inch length difference. When I took the drapes back, the attendant was very apologetic and offered to have the length corrected for no additional fee. The third time I went to the cleaners, I took in three additional drape sets, all the same length, and asked for the same finishing length on all six items (naturally). When I got the drapes home and put the first set up on the rod, I noticed the ends were hanging a little crooked. I took the set down and laid all six items on top of one another. Much to my disappointment (and horror!) every single drape had a different finishing length. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Strawberry Cleaners. Oh and on top of the $15 per drape charge, there's an additional charge to steam the curtains. read more
