A Queen down comforter won't fit in my washer, and I just could not face the laundromat. I ended up bringing in all my soiled bedding. So glad I did! Great employees with a subpar, at best, owner. Having migrated from another local cleaner, I was a loyal customer of Larkspur Cleaners for over two years. Their prices were competitive, for Marin, and their work was for the most part good. Generally I was good for about 5-7 shirts, with an occasional pair of trousers, each week. I had no major complaints until a month back. This is when, on pick up, one of the staff informed me that I had a blowout in one of my shirt elbows. The claim was, they received the shirt as is, did not clean it, so I could decide on next steps. Admirable had it not been I didn't not drop the shirt off in this state. The blowout in question was a clean cut diagonally across the elbow. Now this wasn't a 2-3 year old shirt, that had seen many a desk, this was a 5-6 month old shirt that saw some hours in a casual office setting. Of course I had a complaint and for this I had to talk to the owner. After a few failed phone attempts, I made my way back to the shop to discuss. She stood by the claim that the damage didn't happen on their end. I was fine with her assessment, ready to take my business elsewhere, but she insisted that she could fix it and make it look "as good as new". Unconvinced, but with nothing else to loose, I let her give it a go. Well a couple of weeks later, several phone calls and another impromptu visit I had my "repaired" shirt. My words cant do her work justice. I ask you to imagine either the top of Frankenstein's head or handing your needle and thread to a 4 year old... either will do. Listen, I'm not bitter, but this was the second shirt destroyed by this same establishment. The first garment she reluctantly gave me a store credit at a depreciated value. I guess she figure once was enough. Needless to say, the shirt is no longer with me and I'm no longer a customer of Larkspur Cleaners. I found a great cleaner 2 minutes from my office for half he price and better the quality. One star because I had no other choice. Clean with caution people! read more

Horrific customer service and morals. I have been coming here for 4.5 years, they know my name, etc. The end of March they didn't know where one of my blouses went, so I said, "Ok please look and I'll come back in 2 weeks." (They actually said they would call but I knew that I should go in). I come in again today, 3 weeks from picking up dry cleaning and - sure enough - they cannot find it. They haven't done this before, so I said, "Ok, let's just consider it gone unfortunately. How do we approach from here." This is where I'm baffled at the woman's behavior. She said the price I quoted for my blouse is too much (I was giving her a range of Banana Republic prices) and would ask her insurance to process. I said I don't want an insurance claim, I just want my money back. Then she has the audacity to say the price for my blouse isn't right because it is older now, to which I replied I now have to buy a new one, so the price seems fair. She scoffed at me, said I was being ridiculous, and I quickly interjected that I did not lose the blouse. After holding my ground and saying, these are the prices of my blouses, she says "I don't want your business. You are not welcome here." BECAUSE THEY LOST MY BLOUSE. read more

I take my laundry and dry cleaning here and recently had a particularly good experience. I have a Corneliani sportcoat that's pink. One of my favorites. I've had it for several years and wear it rarely so it hasn't needed cleaning until now. When I picked it up it was destroyed. The pink color had turned horribly dark in many places. It was this dark and light pink mess. I took it back after I noticed it a few weeks later. The woman in charge apologized and said that unfortunately she was sure it could not be fixed, that she hadn't seen anything like this before. We agreed on an amount that I needed to be compensated, she was reasonable in this process, and we set up a running tab until I was paid off. Ie each time I'd bring in my clothes to be cleaned, the cost would be subtracted from the amount I was owed. I'm not in there often, about once every 4-8 weeks. The first time I went by, my coat was hanging up behind the counter. I asked why. She said oh I want to still try some things to see if I can fix it. The next time I went in, she was very excited. She'd fixed it. She pulled it out and it looked fantastic. I was ecstatic. I offered to pay for the things I'd come in to pick up that day. She said there's no charge for cleaning the sportcoat, no charge for the last load that I'd picked up, no charge for the one today and she wouldn't be charging me for the load I was dropping off that day. From beginning to end she could not have handled the whole thing better. read more

I fell in love after having them do a few shirts that were in really rough shape. Do you have shirts like mine where the collar is possessed by demons and an iron the size of Kansas can't get out the wrinkles? They cleaned two shirts of mine that were ready to go in the trash and they returned them to retail condition. I was actually contemplating throwing the shirts away before they convinced me they could clean them!! The quality was astonishing--I thought they were new shirts at first. I have also trusted them with some super delicate fabrics with smoke damage and they also looked like new upon pick-up. The service is quick and convenient. For the money, speed and quality I don't think there is a better cleaner out there. read more
