I got one pair of jeans hemmed and taken in and the service was $80. $80?????when I dropped the pants off I asked for him to please keep the original hem. They did not, they cut my jeans and completely changed the style of the bottom so I said I did not want to pay for what was messed up and all the sudden the man couldn't speak very good English? And offered me $4 off the price. I didn't know what to do so I just paid him and left and absolutely wish I stood up for myself more. The service costed more than the pants. I took my down jacket to Miller Cleaners to be dry cleaned. When I dropped it off the jacket was unzipped. When I picked the jacket up the jacket it was zipped up and enclosed in plastic and somehow the zipper tab was broken. They kindly offered to fix it and I thought that was fantastic customer support. That was a quick resolution to the problem. I believe the tab somehow broke off during the cleaning process. I just moved back to Mill Valley and it's great to know I now have a cleaners to go to that I can rely on. Thanks for the great job Miller Cleaners. read more

After our initial conversation, the supervisor refused to reply to several messages I left on his cell phone voicemail. When you call his number, your call goes straight to voicemail. This is my first complaint on yelp. I tried to call and speak with the business directly and it ended with her literally hanging up on me after talking over me and not answering any more questions. I wanted to write a review after a bad experience two years ago, and I didn't. They confirmed with me that dry cleaning would be ready on a certain date, and then the same person avoided accountability when I showed up and they weren't ready. She was really rude but I chalked it up as a bad day for her and for the business. Fine, it happens. But this is crazy: I dropped 3 pairs of pants off to be hemmed for upcoming weddings and travel. I had my partner pick them up because I was traveling on business. My big mistake was expressing concern to my partner that the pants might not be ready on time - I should have been concerned that they wouldn't do the work at all. NONE of the work had been done. They had the pants for a WEEK. They let my partner walk out after PAYING for the pants and didn't address that none of the tailoring had been done. I called the cleaners from the east coast after unpacking for a wedding. I took a few deep breaths before calling, making a point to be extremely polite in explaining the situation. The woman on the line (same person in each story here) immediately told me to bring the pants in if they hadn't been done. I explained that I couldn't because I was traveling, and that I was calling to let her know since it's probably something she should be aware of. She didn't care. When I indicated this wasn't the first time I had an issue, the woman on the other end started going on about how she "wasn't going to let me disrespect her" (???) and then continued to talk over me before hanging up on me. Literally hanging up on me. I am so disappointed in myself for going back to this place and paying them my money. They are professionally, intellectually, and emotionally incompetent. read more

Prices seem to always fluctuate so that I've never been charged the same price every time ,the quality gas always been very good through our the entire time that I've dealt with these folks even with the original Asian owners whom were exceptionally friendly and very nice ,this time I was charged $10- USD for a dry cleaning job for some wool pants ,the last time it was only $7- or less. I will keep probably going here despite their obvious unpredictable price-increase of at least $3- as it's a very convenient location. The people are friendly enough and are always very patient with me coming in late to picked up my dry cleaning. They also take back the extra hangers and plastic cellophane for reuse ...they do really good alterations and always have done so at a very fair and reasonable price ....it's a win-win all the way. read more

This place is a disaster. I used this cleaners for decades before the family sold to these people last year. I never had a problem with the previous owners. In the few months that I have been using them they have lost items, given me clothes that aren't mine, and broken a buckle on an expensive trench coat. The worst part is that they don't let you know what they've lost or ruined until you realize it's missing and you confront them. If you want your clothes lost and ruined this is the place! read more

Be aware of the prices. They charged me $80 to hem my teenage daughter's dress (not formal dress) and to adjust the shoulders. I thought it was extremely expensive. I have never got charged this amount where I used to live in SoCaL so I thought the prices would be about the same. My fault because this is not the first time I get ripped off in Marin County. I even called Nordstrom to ask them How much they would charge and they told me about $45. read more

I've been here so many times I never thought of reviewing it. There is a ton of DC's here but this place is closest and they do a good job. Never a complaint really. Prices are par. Nobody gives anyone a break in MV, this place is never an exception. The plus for me is that I rarely say a word, as she knows who I am and just grabs my stuff and gives me a pickup date and I'm gone! Usually like 5 days. I am following up on my review about Miller cleaners when they lost my belt to an expensive dress I had planned to wear at a wedding. The manager did call me and kept arguing with me that they never received the belt, which is untrue bc I made sure it was in the loops of the dress, and tied! This manager told me that he checked the video tape from the day I dropped off the best and there was no belt. I then asked him to share the video with me and to no surprise he said "Well you actually can't tell anything from the video". Shocking. Then he told me he would follow up again and look for it and would call me within 10 days. I told him I was going out of the country for the wedding but my phone would still be working and he could call me with his answer. It has now been nearly 3 months and I'm still waiting for that call. I asked for him to reimburse the cost of the dress that I can no longer wear and of course that did not happen either. This place is just terrible, no professionalism, no accepting of their mistakes. I would seriously stay away from them, because if there is a problem, they will not help you solve it. And they will deny any mistakes on their end. read more

It's really nice sometimes to experience your own version of the Cheer's episode, you know, where everyone knows your name. That's what happens every time I walk into Miller Cleaners. Not only do they know who I am and ask how I am, but they ask how my friends are, my staff, my store. Wow, I'm ususally quite impressed. They not only can dry clean the crap out of that dirty shirt in a timely fashion, but they dry clean half of the absurd ridiculous fashions that I so adore that line my closet. Recently they dry cleaned my Moschino dress dripping with pearls. She removed every pearl before cleaning it, and meticulously replaced them afterwards. My dress looks, and smells fantastic which is not what it was like after I sat in the sun for six hours at a black tie benefit in Lake Tahoe wearing my fabulous dress. It was 96 degrees that day and my dress was disgusting. Now it's perfect and smells brand new. That vintage chanel blazer with the black patent leather trim that's a fashion whore's wet dream, yep, you guessed it, just absolutely perfect. She alters my clothes, knows what I like. And when I show up at the door five minutes before they close after we have both had a long day in retail and in life, she bears a perfect smile and still treats me as if she has all day to talk and isn't exhausted needing to go home. It isn't cheap when I get those clothes cleaned there, but when is perfection free these days? read more

This is a family owned business that has been around for many years. They are so friendly and the service is excellent. Just as Danielle S said, when walking in they always remember you and ask how things are going. I've had them dry clean my down comforters and they come back fluffy as ever and smelling so fresh. I've had Chau alter jeans, bridesmaid dresses, and suits. She takes careful care of every detail, and does a fabulous job. They even wash and fold regular laundry. I also have 100% of my tailoring done by them. She is humble and yet her work is incredibly high quality. I love this place, friendly, amazing alterations, the only tailor that I know that literally magically reproduces the original hem on every kind of jeans! I kid you not, distressed denim even! The young woman and her mother were both extremely kind, professional and accommodating in helping me get the job done. I was in today, and had a great experience. However, the sweet couple who run this small cleaning and tailoring shop were screamed at by an angry woman who was charged $15 to hem a pair of pants, rather than the $12 she was quoted over the phone. As the misunderstanding escalated two of us attempted to calm this woman down, but to no avail. She is determined to ruin them in any way she can. It turns out there is another shop down the block, with another seamstress named Chou, and perhaps that was who she spoke with by phone. In any event she left screaming, and poor Chou was in tears. Please disregard any negative rant that comes in about this unfortunate episode. read more

Chau does excellent alterations and really knows how cloth falls and tailoring works. Hemming, taking in, etc. She gives good advice on what alterations will work, and what won't. They only take checks or cash, no credit cards. The alterations are not inexpensive (in contrast to the dry-cleaning which is cheaper than some other local businesses) but well done. read more

The husband and wife who run this business are super friendly, extremely hard working, and provide excellent quality of service. I have never been disappointed in any of the clothing I have trusted them with. The alterations are always professionally executed and the dry cleaning addresses all problem areas. Called for two days in a row to see if seamstress was in - was told today she was. Came in only to find out she had just left for the day (this was 11:15 am) The woman that was there took one look at my faux leather jacket that I simply needed the sleeves taken up and came up with every reason under the sun that she felt her seamstress couldn't do it - including the fact that it might be over $50 (not kidding) I mentioned that I was a new customer when I came in - looks like i'll be finding another dry cleaners and seamstress in Mill Valley for sure . read more

Chau and her husband have run the place for years and she is excellent, reliable, and reasonable! She always remembers you and will do everything possible to get something done in a hurry if necessary. I'm not a "fashion whore" like Danielle S., but I do wear clothes. I took those clothes to Miller's Cleaners for about 5 years, but recently stopped. I could put up with the fact that they lost 2 of my shirts over the years and I could deal with the pricey dry-cleaning. No, what finally turned me off was that they switched laundry services for their shirts and made no apologies when I complained about the decline in quality. For years, my shirts were coming back clean and pressed well. Then they had to have switched laundry facilities, because my shirts started coming back with ring around the color, broken buttons, and poor hang jobs (resulting in wrinkles). When I complained about the shirts not looking clean, the owner told me that it was my fault I sweat too much. My toxic sweat had permanently stained my shirts. So, I took my shirts home, dropped them in the laundry with some run of the mill detergent and voila! they came out clean and without ring around the collar! I've tried other cleaners in MV and have gotten much better results. I'm still not all warm and fuzzy about any particular dry cleaner, but I won't be going back to Miller's. read more
