I did, and I regret it. I brought in seat pillow covers from my (expensive, Italian) couch. I'd had them dry cleaned twice before at other places with no problem, but when I got them back from Sausalito Bright they were damaged: covered with a faint web pattern. I pointed this out to the owner, who agreed that the problem was his "extractor" machine. The covers, he explained, were crumpled during the dirt extraction process, and the creases turned a bright white, making a webby pattern against the cream colored fabric. So far so good. The owner did not agree this was damage, however -- that word he reserved for something that was ripped or torn. In fact, the acid wash effect qualified as a cleaning, he said, because the the whiter parts were not a stain, but a rather extra clean sections! When I asked for my money back, he said that he didn't want to give it to me because customers like me were what drove hard working dry cleaners like him out of business! I just wish they had gone out of business before I made the mistake of going there....

I went on, booked a 20 min consultation and arrived to my appointment. Josh knew exactly what had to be done before I even told him anything. He just looked at me and started pinning things up--I was very impressed. He gave me his honest feedback and allowed me to pick the best option possible for my needs without being pushy about additional alterations/alteration methods. I felt like I was in very good hands. Last but not least, the work. Josh's is only open on Saturdays and closed Sundays--so I had to pick up my suit before work at 8 AM. I tried on my suit just in case I needed additional work and it fit like a glove. I felt ready like I was going to a red carpet event and you can tell how well he did from my photo. Everything fitted perfectly and I left extremely satisfied. The cost was also very reasonable for adjustments on both my blazer and pants--it came down to $200 cash flat and finish time was less than the estimated 2 weeks. Brought 3 pairs of suede shoes for cleaning. When I arrived to pick them up, one pair was ruined - all discolored plus suede was treated incorrectly with water, so it all shrunk. When I pointed it out, I was not met with an apology, but instead, and I'll quote: - "they are supposed to be this color" - "no, they are supposed to be all white" *shows a photo* -"they were already like that, otherwise you wouldn't have brought them here!" -"they were only dirty next to the sole, now they are entirely discolored. Also, this pair was over $1k - how do you suggest we resolve this?" -"are you seriously making drama over a pair of shoes? People are dying in the world! And there are better ways to spend a thousand dollars than on a pair of shoes! You can just take them but you will pay me for the other 2 pairs!" The man clearly didn't know how to clean suede, and I would have really appreciated it if he would have been honest and not accepted the job. Instead, he decided to attempt it, which resulted in permanent damage. The craziest part, still, is how aggressively defensive he got, refusing to take any responsibility and making inappropriate comments. For that last part of the conversation he was even kind of yelling at me already. I was frankly just a little intimidated by this man, so I gave him whatever payment he was demanding and quickly left. Nuts!
