Pizza is delicious. Wings are also worth a try. Its a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The place is clean and the salad bar is good. Good customer service. The only draw back is that they have 100 tv's but they cant seem to make them work. Whats the piint of having so many tv's. The game 7 nba finals was on and we couldn't watch the game. read more

Omg!! OMG!! I'm soooooo excited to know that that straw hat still exists!!! This is a favorite childhood memory of Friday nights back in the 80s with family and friends playing video games and hanging out with everyone and able to run around I'm shocked this place is rated at 2.5 *'s the ambiance was chil super nostalgic and clean. I walked in and it immediately took me back to my childhood minus the tvs on the walls vs a big projector screen. Lol It was a bittersweet to see that there was hardly anyone dining. -Bitter because I believe there servers was attentive and the dining rooms were cater to many rooms to fit the environment of many and -sweet because I currently was in a mood desiring quiet and it was quite. The few that were there you could tell were regular and had a relationship with the staff which was cool. Now once the food came out!! Omg it was absolutely wonderful!!! I believe my pictures tell you all!!! I definitely will be back!! read more

Straw hat has been around Manteca since before I was born. It used to be a great place. But at one point it shifted owners and really went downhill. I've recently starting seeing that another new owner took over and was hoping to return it back to its original glory. So I gave them a try today with no expectations. I used door dash and ordered a hot hat and a drink. To my surprise the food was delivered almost immediately even though it estimated an hour. I got more than just a hot hat. The food box was also full of potato wedges and a pickle and a serving of ranch dip. The food was fresh and delicious. The only critique I can say is that the wedges could be cooked just a tad longer. But they're still edible. Great job. I'll be rooting for straw hat to make a comeback! read more

I used to come here a lot with my dad back in 2012 or so. It's been a while since Ive been here, and my family and I decided to come and get some pizza. Well, I have to say I was very very disappointed. There was not beer on tap. The soda machine broken. Only ice, and beer in a bottle. I paid for pizza with creamy garlic ranch sauce. Pizza came with red sauce. The pizza did not taste the same. Must be using some knock off brand of dough and sauce. To top it off, I ordered a 12 piece chicken wings. They came with 11 small pieces of some budget size wings (two legs, the rest flats). Look at the picture. You'll see what I mean. I'm not sure what happened to the place I used liked so much. Some might blame it on Covid. But I beg to differ. Oh well, the server said she would hook me up with a free pizza. But I'm going to pass on that. Better luck in the next people you serve. Hope you step up your establishment. read more

Straw Hat Pizza - Missing a wing. - Pizza Near Me - Manteca, California

If I could give this a -0 I would. We walked in to be greeted by a roach instead of a human. We waited there for about 4 min until my husband was like oh heck no there's a roach right here and we left. I then went back in to take this picture because I feel people should know. And while trying to take the picture nobody still hadn't came out. Disgustinggggg read more

I'm done with this place . About a year ago I ordered through door dash on a Sat night . A pastrami hot hat and a veggie pizza. Pizza was raw , sandwich was greasy and nothing but gristle. Just nasty . Called to complain as it was totally not edible and mgr at the time blamed it on "it being a busy sat night but never offered my money back a discount on next order nothing . Needless to say yesterday was the first time I've ordered in a year trying to give them another chance . Ordered a lemon chicken pizza and a pastrami hot hat. I get my order through GrubHub and the sandwich is burnt and the same greasy fatty pastrami . The pizza on the other hand had 3 pieces of "chicken " which was more like rubbery I don't even know what 2 slices of zucchini and raw pizza dough throughout. This is the worst straw hat I've ever ordered from and their food is absolutely disgusting . O stars if I could read more

As a sort of hidden spot, we decided to have my 48th birthday party here. At first, we were upset with our order previously placed, never being taken or prepared as we easily had over 50 guests with us. However, once the mistake was noted, all 3 employees (one being the owner) got right to work without hesitation. The food was prepared and served right away thereafter. All of our guests LOVED the flavors, portions, and every bit of my party, resulting in a success. THANK YOU, GARY AND TEAM!!!! read more

Really feel bad for the employees... girls is sweet.... She is sweating her butt off all by herself while place has no AC.... This place can never stay stocked of just don't try.. The one item they may the most money on the sodas are just plane idiotic... machine has no ice... 75% of all the selections are gone and they have no refills for the machine..... Just getting tired of giving them chances and wasting my money... And they wonder why most of there business don't come back.... read more

The food and service is excellent , always welcoming my husband and I come here often

We've been going to this Straw Hat pizza parlor for many, many years. Their Pizzas and Hot Hats have always satisfied us. They have sports on TV and is a nice place to gather with friends for some good food, cold beverages, and watch a game or two. read more

Sadly, we are extremely disappointed with the pizza that we got tonight from this location. We ordered two large pepperoni pizzas and paid $42.00....... They had no specials or coupons available either. I still can't believe we paid that much for what we got. The pizza was literally dry, hard and thin. I could understand the thin part if we had ordered thin crust but, we did not! We will not be purchasing from this location in the future. read more

I've been coming to this Straw Hat for 24 years, pizza was always awesome. Saw this place come and go with different owners but as far as the new ones, other than the pizza and food, this is horrible they doubled the prices on the pizza. They have no coupons whatsoever. They do have a deal on Tuesdays for 40% off, but that's only for dine in or takeout not delivery and they don't even have delivery drivers anymore. They make you use DoorDash what even makes the price go up even higher. Whoever is running this place you need to do a better job. I am stop coming here until they make it more customer friendly, don't get me wrong. The employees are very nice and friendly but if you looking for something to take home or delivery, I would pass this place up. You can get pizza much cheaper somewhere else and this is coming from a customer of 24 years I am disabled and I can't get out much so I depend on delivery, it's sad that they take that away from me and other customers read more

Stopped here for a quick meal prior to a meeting. Awesome pizza, new ownership just took over, had an opportunity to meet and speak to them. They are renovating the place but overall I was impressed with the staff, service and the food. read more

Typical California pizza. Not bad but nothing that would place it above or below the others. Our pizza we called in for pickup. Service was good and prompt. They give ample packets of Parm cheese and Red Pepper flakes. Dominoes charges for anything extra and their pizza is not as good. They have area for 1 or more groups. They seem to be sports orientated. read more

Used to be good. But, they have been going downhill. They screwed up 3 of our last 4 orders. The pizza has been undercooked lately, and then today, they refused to honor a coupon. The coupon is valid and even on their website. I was told the owner told them to refuse all discounts today. Im so frustrated with this place. read more

The crust was burnt, I requested anchovies and they didn't add it. Instead of notifying me it's at the door they just left it there.

Best pizza ever and it's at a great price, this is my childhood pizza and never lets me down. Sadly the one in Stockton is gone but this one is almost identical! Very much recommend! Awesome old school sit down booths they always have the games and fights on! read more

My family and I absolutely love this pizza!!! It's amazing every time! Absolutely love the crust and the flavor is just delicious.

I haven't been to a straw hat in years. I gave this one a try because I've been so disappointed in all the other pizza places in this town. I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency and quality of this pizza. The grass was good, the sauce was good, and the pepperoni was not too spicy. Skip the wings, the wings were not good, but it's a pizza place, not a wing place. read more

Tuesday this week I called in and ordered 2 pizzas. I was told they very busy and it would take 30 minutes. Not bad at all, I thought it always took that long. When I arrive 35 minutes later the place was packed. There was an order line and a take out line. 2 ladies in the take out line and 20 in the order line. I wanted about 5 minutes for my turn. When it WAS my turn the gentleman at the register told me I would have to get into the other line (order line) I told him that was not going to happen, since I had called in my order and waited in the take out line I was not going to wait an other 30 minutes line to get a cold pizza. I told him I'll take the pizzas or you can eat them. I guess he ate them. I called Guido's Pizza an picked up in 15 minutes. Guido's is the best pizza in Manteca. I just wanted to try Straw Hat I would NEVER order an pizza at Straw Hat again read more

Ok small store, quiet when I went for their lunch special (salad bar, drink, and pan pizza for 7.42 TOTAL) A bit pricey but I had 2 salads, pizza, and 4 refills on the Gold Peak Tea machine (which I had never seen before, but gold peak is my FAV sweetened tea "on tap" so to say) and I was stuffed healthy actually. Pizza didn't wow me per say, but it was good, little low on the sauce side sadly so I can't tell you about that so I kinda figured my personal pan size was the reason of little sauce, it was a little pizza. Cheese good, crust is just how I like it. Its a nice crispy mid-range size with garlic flavor. Salad bar was fresh, and this is why I gave it 4, the salad and free refills were just good wholesome healthy choices for a pizza place. I got my protein fix on the eggs and cottage cheese with salad. The place is clean, wait staff is nice, and it wasn't busy at all making it easy for me to sit in front of the flat screen TV by myself and do work while watching and eating lunch Fun Story: Some old timers rolled in hassling the clerk about picking orders for lunch, ingredient by ingredient and had a calculator for their order! Poor cashier Casey, he was super nice about everything despite me almost freaking out because they were shouting their order from the TV area and asking questions to the front counter... Seriously some people... lol I give them a 2 for being obnoxious seniors. Funny how some older people complain about young kids.... read more

this is basically the best place to get pizza in manteca. The cashiers are your buds and never mess up on orders. Do not leave without having our soda, its like nothing else in town. But seriously I work here, and have nothing but good to say about this place. If you're into a relatively quiet pizza place in town this is it. Best deal in the restaurant is the "2 large 2 topping and a 2 liter/drinks deal". you save like 10 bucks. One whack thing that we could fix is the arcades, they don't work sometimes. read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would! By far the most insanitary restaurant I've been too. We attend my sons basketball team party at Straw Hat, waited in line for over 45 mins just to order and waited another 40 mins for our order. I knew they were short staffed so while I waited for my pizza I ordered a salad buffet plate to hold me over. I walked over and started to make my salad as I passed the lettuce I started to take notice that the rest of the vegetables had looked wilted and rotten. I picked up a few onions and notice some green hairy fungus on my red onions I laid on my plate. I inspected it and realized it was MOLD! I immediately went to the cashier and requested a refund and for them to change out the contaminated vegetables, I sat there for another30 mins waiting for the salad bar to be changed out, it was never done. In fact, the cashier kept selling the salad and allowed customers to eat out of the salad bar. Just before I left I reminded the staff once again to change out the salad. This place should be shut down! My next step is to report them. read more

Straw Hat Pizza - Onions with mold served at the salad bar! - Pizza Near Me - Manteca, California

We went for dinner buffet. $10 a person for pizza, garlic twists, wings and salad bar. Definitely a great deal! The staff was all friendly. Salad bar was clean and stocked. They have the touch screen flavored soda machine which is always nice. The pizza wasn't fresh when we got there which is understandable and only 1 wing left. There was only 2 pepperoni slices left so my husband grabbed those and waited for more. There was still about 70min left for the buffet and no sign of them putting out more. We finally had to go ask and they made one but was still a little disappointed that they weren't switching out left overs with fresh pizzas, wings and twists. Not sure if we'll be back for buffet but we will be back for pizzas! read more

My husband and I went there today and had a great experience with the wednesday dinner buffet. It was $7.99 for a soda and the buffet. The buffet had the salad bar, potato wedges, groovy cheesy bread twists, BBQ wings, buffalo wings, 3 different pizzas at the time. The soda was cool because there was a sweet tea option :D I love sweet tea! The only thing I didn't really like was that I was expecting jalapeño poppers or green bean crispers but it was still an amazing price for unlimited wings, pizza and potato wedges. My favorite dinner buffet in manteca. read more

Me & my boyfriend came for his birthday June 2 around 6. There was a terribly ghetto and disruptive group in the front of the restraunt so we sat in the back by all the big tvs. We ordered a large pizza & twists. They cranked the basketball championships so that was fun. The workers gave excellent service and always had such nice attitudes. They really made me happy. One huge negative... the outside looks like a jail. Just a good paint job would do. I laughed at my bf like why would I ever want to eat hear? Well don't let looks deceive you. It was a regular pizza parlor... clean, stocked, huge tvs, super cool memorabilia on the walls. We had a good time thanks! read more

Pretty good for a first time try! Crust was a little toasted but besides that I give Straw Hat at this location a 3 star!

Ok so I debated to write a review but I will do to the fact that my boyfriend and I thought this was a good time place we came here like about 5 times ! This 5th time that we will went we ordered chicken wings and straw hats combination pizza with a beer as our usual thing . Well we were very disappointed this last time we went ! Our chicken wasn't fully cooked right it was a bit cold ! I don't think that is ok . At first I thought it was like that just cause I dipped it in the ranch but then I kept touching it and mentioned it to my boyfriend and he mentioned that his chicken wings that he grabbed were also cold ! So they didn't warm up our chicken right ... ever since then we haven't gone we were pretty disappointed and haven't gone back since then ... read more

I couldn't even stay to receive my meal. The foul stench as I approached the counter was light, but as I approached the soda fountain was overwhelming. I left a paid for meal uneaten and I was literally sick to my stomach. And I truly love Straw Hat Hot hats. Never Again in that location I'll give up $9.40 to avoid food poisoning.
