Just had Straw Hat delivered, been meaning to try it for a while now. Would definitely not get pizza from here again. Requested ham and pineapple, light sauce and well done. It was not close to well done, and the bland, generic sauce was oozing out the sides of each slice. Total waste of money. I also ordered the pastrami sandwich, what it lacked in the amount of pastrami, it made up for in flavor and killer fresh baked bread. This would probably be a one star, but the sandwich (and crispy fries) earned a second star. Do better Straw Hat, get better management, and turn out a pizza to be proud of. DO BETTER! read more

Went there for the first time because it was nearby, but ended up being extremely disappointed. The pizza was undercooked and doughy, and the toppings were not fresh. The working conditions in the kitchen did not seem sanitary at all, they always seemed understaffed and there was always a foul smell in the restaurant. I feel like it is becoming common in fast food chains and restaurants for management to bad. I feel like there's no flexibility offered to young teenagers, there are no consistent schedules, and getting days off is impossible. My message to all restaurant managers is to start treating your employees with respect because we are all doing are best, we all have lives outside of work. read more

We went to the straw hat Pizza one other time and we didn't have a problem previous! The people gave a problem this time over sauce after you spend $30+. Smelly bathroom, rude workers but good pizza. We usually get a large pepperoni mushroom pizza and I genuinely like the pizza and I'm funny about it already so that says a lot! I just tried straw hat recently and I fell in love with it you should definitely try it out! Ordered 2 pizzas, one specifically requested with extra sauce. It took over a half hour to get the pizzas to go. After we got home, found out that neither pizza had ANY sauce to see or taste. There was a faint red trace of something that I assume is the owners attempt at making pizzas for as cheap as he can. This is one of the last Straw Hat Pizza locations in the bay area.....now I know why they've disappeared over the years. Very sad, and needless to say, I won't be going back ever. read more

They have karaoke nights from 6-10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, very family friendly and such a great place to have dinner with family and sing some karaoke songs. Straw hat brings it back to middle and high school lunch garlic twists and mini pizzas. They have the salad bar and their soda machine, wings, fries, and of course their pizzas. Their garlic twists are good. Their chicken wings look like they're wet sauce and not usually dry which I thought was weird. But service is fairly quick and even for pick up. Same quality over the year. Tiny parking lot. They have some outdoor seating and a little kids area. We invited all of our friends here on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday and they were so accommodating. read more

My bf and I ordered two different kinds of pizza and neither of us liked ours. The only thing my bf liked was the wings. Even the soda was watered down. First of all walked in to pick up my order was not greeted dude looked all grumpy like I just woke him up. Went to make my salad I ordered salad bar was not lit. Didn't seem cold, there were no cucumbers I took empty container to counter to inform them again dude looked as if u vac was bothering them . Continue to make my salad never got cucumbers. Also the Thousand Island dressing was nearly empty!!Regret leaving a tip on my Apple Pay. When you spend 43.00 on pizza and salad this is not the type of service I expect. Mediocre pizza if you have kids or family who aren't really picky. We have ordered here a few times and the last few times it's just "okay" nothing special. It's reasonable so if you have a party and are on a budget and aren't picky then this place will be a good option. They have really good prices and they deliver fairly quickly too. While down in Northbay for client meeting, we swung by the closest location and ordered a different flavor which is Veggie Classic... Used to order The works or anything with meat as toppings.. 10" pizza was actually enough for 2-3 people.. Sliced very finely and thinly, waited for over 15 mins and pizza was hot as served.. The pizza was a ok, fresh veggies but i cant say the same to its end crust, was a bit hard and seems not edible... i normally love crunchy crispy crust but this one did not pass my liking so i had to leave it and just ate the soft thin pizza ... Super Friendly Staff! I've never been to a Straw Hat Pizza before and 30+ years ago my FIL worked st one so my husband got very nostalgic to get pizza. Hot Hats on the menu say cheeseburger so I was hesitant but after asking he explained it's basically a calzone no extra burger I haven't got my order yet but ordered pizza, garlic bread, hot hat! After all of these years of driving by and being in the area next to Straw Hat Pizza, I never knew it existed until recently. My boyfriend likes dining here for lunch, from time to time, so we decided to grab lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. We missed the lunch buffet rush, so I'm sure that's why the service & food were pretty good. The pizza and the groovy twists were very good and decently priced. Our large Meat-e-or pizza came packed with the various types of meat. I was honestly surprised at how flavorful and savory the pizza was, since most places' meat lovers pizza tends to be on the safe side, in regards to flavor & spices. The bacon & cheese groovy twist were delicious as well; however, I wish they added more garlic. For both items, the portion sizes are great in respect to the amount they charge you. I'm writing this review based on the lack of customer service and extremely unprofessional behavior by a staff member (Elizabeth). I ordered online a cheese pizza with the option to add additional toppings. I added pepperoni and wrote a detailed note for half pepperoni and half cheese. My order was confirmed and I received the pizza in the expected delivery time. The order was not correct and my spoiled child refused to eat. I could clearly see the specific order online and I called to inquire if they gave me the wrong order. Elizabeth cut me off staying "I didn't have your order made in time so I read the order off of the delivery drivers phone and gave you what was made. I see online you ordered a cheese pizza but I didn't check that then. What do you want me to do about this because I'm busy". I advised Elizabeth that I wasn't looking for free food or for another pizza but I wanted to check if I received the right order. Again, she cut me off mid sentence and said "so what do you want?!", I told Elizabeth that I will not come back due to her.... and I was cut off again with a childish laugh and disconnected. I called back asking for the manager and was advised the manager was not in. I order from this establishment often and have never had a complaint or problem. For this restaurants sake, I hope Elizabeth is fired for unprofessional, disrespectful, and childish behavior. read more
