I went to this Urgent Care even after having leaving a bad review the last time but I thought things would change because the head nurse or supervisor got back to me. Same problem, the girls at the desk are not empathizing at all. They will let you know right away how many people in front of you. They don't go by emergency priority so if you are planning to go there, make sure you are not dying or in pain cause you will wait, and long!!! Then when you see the doctor, he tried to act concerned it I can feel artificial concern. I went there thinking I may have kidney stones but all they did was a urine test that did not show any blood so the doctor told me it's probably not kidney stones. I tried to explain my difficulty urinating without pushing because I'm worried about my kidney. He told me it might even be an onset of shingles!!!Im confused and frustrated and all I want to do is rest. I am a Medical Assistant myself and I could surely be a lot more empathic and helpful than those girls in the front desk. This place is terrible, there are a lot of other places that will give you the service you deserve and is paying for. They are making money from us without giving us the best service!!! read more

Flat out the best medical experience I've ever had. Granted, the military and the VA set the bar pretty low. First class friendly service from the moment I walked in the door. Once I was complete with check in (5 minutes tops) I was the 5th person in line, but the wait to see the Dr. was still less than 10 minutes. I was dealing with a medical issue for the past 3 months. Having been seen by a few Dr.'s and multiple imagery appointments, Dr. Price (@straub) ultimately provided a medical solution to my ailment in the first visit. Straub was actually my 2nd choice for urgent care here in Kapolei. Urgent care Hawaii pretty much said they couldn't treat me without even really understanding what medical service I was requesting. Ultimately, Dr. Price treated me as a patient versus a case out of a textbook. In dealing with my medical issue I feel I'd been just shuffled around lIke a piece of paper until I finally reached urgent care at Straub. Dr. Price has 16+ years of experience and it showed. Came here for my exam today at 1:30pm. I was nicely greeted by a man at the door who took my temperature and directed me to where my doctor was located. I was also nicely greeted upstairs at the front desk by a young lady. My nurse Christine was sooo sweet, helpful and kept a good conversation. She went over with me about how the procedure was going to go with the doctor before she left the room. My doctor Roxanne Kawelo was also very nice, she made me feel comfortable (first time having the procedure), understanding, helpful, and kind hearted. While staying at Aulani my 10-year-old son got something in his eye and was crying that he felt like something was stabbing his eyeball. We tried flushing his eyes, cold packs but nothing worked. We originally went to another urgent care in town and they turned us away even though my son was sobbing from pain and they pointed us in the direction of this urgent care. Even though the wait was 2 1/2 hours long the RN nurse supervisor immediately took us back and flushed my sons eyes. He was so kind and so gentle and I am so thankful to him and the entire staff. They didn't even charge us they did this just out of the kindness of their hearts. They saved the day I cannot thank you enough!!! Kindness goes along way.. read more

I came to this urgent care around 7:15pm and they turned me down and told me they were at max capacity which is fine I can understand that but at least let people know when they call in advance like I did...not too big of an issue. I came the following morning prior to opening and they had people wait outside and handed us clipboards in order of who arrived first. They allowed us into the office shortly after that. I was called in shortly after around 10:15am. The nurse JEAN is absolutely amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and I am so thankful she was working today because she is THE SWEETEST. However if she wasn't working my experience at straub would've been 1 star or 0 if possible. My issue is with the doctor I saw. She came in introduced herself rambled on and tried to leave. Didn't care to ask me what happened, what's going on... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. LITERALLY SQUEEZED MY WOUND!!!! She told me okay the nurse will be in to clean your wound and give you a tetanus booster. I wanna say she was in the room with me for a max of 1 minute and said it was a pleasure to meet you and was about to leave!!! I asked her is anyone going to take me to X-rays and she told me oh I'm so sorry I totally forgot. And walked out. Didn't see her until after where she just popped her head in, didn't even enter the room and told me X-rays are negative I suggest you call your PCP today and schedule an appointment for today so they can refer you to a specialist. I just felt completely ignored and not cared for properly. I understand it's an urgent care and it's busy but you can in the least have a 5 minute conversation with your patient about what's going on. Will not be returning here. read more

When this office first opened I was very excited because I was a long-time Straub patient and was still seeing my doctor in Kailua after moving to Ewa Beach. I really like my doctor at the Kapolei office but it is very difficult to get an appointment lately. I've tried to go to their urgent care a couple of times and have found the staff to be very un-helpful. Am considering switching to a different health-care provider. read more

Really easy to get to, parking is perfect. Everything is right there. Just a quick temp check and ask what doctor and you're in. They have clear signs that say 6ft apart and the facility is so clean and big. Really nice medical center. read more

Took my blood test the following Monday and waited until Thursday till I reached out to them because once again they did not call me back even though they told me they would. I messaged them on the MyChart app about 3 times and all times my messages were left on read. I just had simple questions, what happened to my referral? And if I could get a doctors note for work? THATS IT. And yet they could NOT answer my questions or call me back. It wasn't until my husband drove over there and talked to the front desk upstairs on my behalf (I was at work) asking for AT LEAST a doctors note. Then he told me that the manager of the medical facility will be calling me later that day even though he told him that I will not be able to pick up in the afternoon time due to work. I did get a missed call from the facility but I'm assuming that they were not calling to apologize for everything rather, to get their last say in. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere better to get your care from. read more

Changing PCP because last Dr. was too busy and wait time was insane. I called my insurance and they said Straub is opening in Kapolei, I figured to go there because it's closer to home. Parking: A ton, but majority of it is taken by the 24hr gym members who's working out in the gym. As I walked in, I wasn't greeted till I walked in front of the desk. I like to be greeted as patients walk in especially I work in a medical field to it's what brings patient back to their office. So I asked the ladies at the desk I'm here for a 2:45pm and they told me to go upstairs or take the elevator. Still not a smile or anything. So I decided to take the stairs. Then I come across another two ladies, they looked and said hi after I said hi first. The lady that register me looked grumpy. So I handed her everything like insurance cards and paper works, I thought she would ask for it but I went ahead and gave it to her instead. So she makes me fill out more paper works. So I filled them out handed it back to her and waited for my appointment. So it's 2:35pm I got called in 10 mins from the medical assistant. The medical assistant did not even walked up to me but just called my name and looked at me and turned back to press the automatic door. So she then takes my vitals and that's when the assistant was being very nice and friendly. So she takes me the room, mind you now there's a lot of ROOMS! I get to room waited for 10 mins. Dr. Sells comes in greets herself and ask me questions and al around she was nice and friendly. Would I refer anyone here? Yes! It's a clean facility due to being new. I'm disabled and immunocompromised so I've been to so many medical facilities. This has to be my favorite urgent care on island. Dr Monica Price is the friendliest and most efficient doctor I have ever seen. Way better than my PCP even! She addressed all my concerns and prescribed my medicine based on not only todays visit, but she also took into concern past complications and she knew exactly what to do. Very professional. I had walked in recently because I was having symptoms for more than a year and my family, including myself was worried. I had just finished work and when I walked in, the first thing the front staff asked me was "what I was coming in for". She then made a comment saying, their closing. Mind you, its an Urgent Care and I got there 1hr before their closing time. So, I was a bit disappointed but I was desperate to run some tests because my PCP was on vacation and I've told her several times but she just referred me to another doctor. The doctor had told me that theres something serious going on and I need to see my PCP ASAP. After a couple minutes of waiting, they took me in and I saw Dr. Johnson. Which, was a complete waste of time. The whole entire appointment made it seem like she wasn't interested in caring for me. In fact, she had talked down to me and laid back in her chair and just "educated me." After, she was about to end the discussion, I mentioned that there was another concern (which I had informed them of 2x before I saw her). And Dr. Johnson had the audacity to say "Your killing me!" in a non-joking way. She then concluded the visit saying that she wont run some tests because they're closing and I should just follow up with my doctor. This experience was honestly very disappointing, especially because I work in the medical field and I knew everything she was already "educating" me on. As someone who deals with patients as well, this is not the kind of care thats acceptable. Someone comes into an urgent care for a reason, no matter how small the issue or how late it is, it is our duty to help and make sure the patient walks out feeling better than when they walked in. This doctor and this experience made me remember why I decided to work in the Medical Field and I hope more future doctors out there join for the same reason. read more

Dr janee sells was the best and also very Caring, she was very informing and made me feel comfortable.

Our 15-month-old fell and cut open his four head. He had a pretty bad gash on it that required medical attention. We called the urgent care and they had us come right in to take a look to see if they could treat it. They presented two options to either use medical glue or traditional sutures. We opted for medical glue since they could treat it in the office. We were seen immediately and the nurse and two doctors helped to get us in and out extremely quickly. The front desk employees were also very helpful and extremely kind. We were on vacation and they made the experience as easily and painless as possible. If we ever need them again, we know where to go! read more

She's a good listener but other Than that is only a DO & has no admitting priveleges and not a good doc. There is no 'Urgent' in urgent care at this facility. Absolutely horrible wait times. Walked into the facility at 1 PM on a Saturday and there was only one person sitting in the lobby waiting for another person who was already being seen: I was initially told by the front desk worker that I would be seen in about 30 minutes. I understood and waited. 40 minutes later, I asked her how much longer and she told me that it wouldn't be too much longer so I waited another 5-10 minutes... then someone finally came out, after almost an hour of waiting. I was walked into the back and it was super quiet. Maybe 3 workers total. The initial contact with the medical assistant (person taking vitals) was at first impression, rushed and unpleasant. Seemed too serious and unfriendly. When the girl left the patient screening room, she told me it would be 10 minutes.... well, 10 minutes went by and no one came in, at 15 minutes I had to walk out and ask them how much longer the doctor was going to be, and I was told, "probably about another 3 minutes." Dr. Johnson finally came in and saw me, and it was the doctor who I felt really helped turn the experience around. Very kind and nice. Explained everything accurately and clearly. 5 stars to the doctor, but the overall experience here at this location was abysmal with time management. Hopefully it gets better, cause it's a beautiful new location, but I'd much rather go to a less aesthetically pleasing facility with good service than sit at a nice facility for over an hour with ok service. Hopefully things will get better, but I really expected more from Straub. read more

I was only there for a few minutes, I will say the guy who helped me at the front desk seemed like it was his first day on the job it took him forever to tell me what he needed from me. Anywho, I rated y'all a 5 because the X-Ray tech that helped me named Rizza D. Is the bomb.com!!!! She kept asking me if I was okay during the pictures taken and let me know if I was in any pain she will be quick about taking the picture to help was my pain. She helped me off the table as I was really stiff and she even walked me to the front to make sure I didn't fall! I am really upset with Straub urgent care in Kapolei. He went there because his Dr was booked for the day. My brother in law has been getting high fever for about a week now. The female Dr that was there yesterday told him it could be pneumonia but didn't bother to take X-Ray or do test on him to see what could be wrong. She didn't do a thing to figure out what could be wrong. So my brother in law went there for nothing while that Dr will be getting paid for doing nothing to help him. He ended up having to go to his regular Dr today where they will be taking X-Ray. What's the use in going to urgent care if the Dr doesn't do a thing but say it could be pneumonia. Pneumonia can be very serious. My uncle died of pneumonia. This is so upsetting and I really thing they should talk to that Dr. what happens if she doesn't do anything and the patient ends up in the ER or dies because she didn't do anything to find out what is really wrong. read more

Would rate this place 5 stars if I didn't have to wait in the waiting room for a hour, but that is to be expected at "urgent" cares. From the front desk, to the medical assistant, to the actual doctor all were friendly and professional. Dr Finigan (i think that was her name) was very nice and thorough in explaining medical conditions. The assistant jen was also very nice. Overall if you dont mind being there for about 2 hours, this would be a go to. I had an appointment scheduled with a doctor upstairs. You ever have one of those days where everything is going great... and then there's that ONE person you encounter in your day that just ruins everything? Yea, That happened today at Straub Kapolei. I was having a great day, walked into the entrance of the clinic and knew where I had to go, as I've been there several times... and right when I walked through the front door, I was bombarded by the older Filipino man taking temperatures and handing out hand sanitizer at the door. It wasn't in a friendly manner AT ALL. It was in a way as if I was refusing to take my temperature (which I wasn't). He was very rude and approached me seemingly annoyed that I walked through the door. I'm not sure if he was just having a bad day or what. I kindly told him that I had an appointment upstairs and "Yea well you need to take your temperature FIRST!" I cooperated as I understand the importance of doing so. I understand that tensions are high with COVID-19 but, it's not as if I was refusing to take my temperature. COVID-19 shouldn't be an excuse to forget about kindness and customer service, and justify being an arse. It was just how he approached me... if he would've just been nice about it, which I'm sure is expected of him by Straub... right?! After running late for my afternoon appointment, I called the office to notify my doctor of my tardiness--all done prior to the actual scheduled time. I was given confirmation by their staff that I'll still be seen (As I had a 15 minute grace period). I arrived BEFORE my grace period and was told that I had to reschedule my appointment. My explanation was that I arrived "too late". Not only did I waste my time driving here, but I'll have to come back in 2 weeks for what should have been my appointment today. With that being said, the lack of consistency is just awful. Let me also add that the waiting room was empty, and it seemed as if there were absolutely no other patients in office at this time. It's possible the workers just wanted to go home early and refused to service me. The receptionist was kind about this but not helpful in understanding my frustrations and just relayed the messages over and offered to reschedule me. This was a terrible experience. read more
