Strathmore Bagels Cafe & Deli is probably my favorite place to go get breakfast. Not only are the people there super nice and friendly, but the style of the dining area is very warm and homey. Like a cozy Christmas morning with a cup-a-joe. I highly recommend going there if you want to make some new early morning friends and need a place to stop before work. Absolutely the WORST egg sandwich I've ever had! We waited almost 20-25 minutes for one sandwich and one creamcheese bagel (and the place was not even busy). My egg sandwich was cold and the cheese wasn't melted (of which they only gave me a sliver of cheese). They forgot to put ketchup on it after the girl taking my order had me repeat it three times and she wrote it down. I've worked in delis for 15 years and can tell you this place isn't worth your money. It used to be good when it first opened, but I guess it's gone way down hill since then! This is my go-to place when I want an excellent Everything Bagel with Vegetable Cream Cheese. Their bagels, service and attitude are far superior to 'Signature' in town and their veggie cream cheese is perfect - the exact way it should be. I always get their Egg Everything since they're always amazing, large & have lots of seeds. Very fresh and doesn't even "need" toasting. Sometimes they sell out of most of their bagels so you may not get much selection if you go late. I've gotten good egg sandwiches here and also the worst one of my life one time that couldn't even be qualified as such, which I think was a one-off. Probably depends who was working there at the time. Most of the staff are nice and do a good job. Deducting 1 star due to the fact they STILL don't have paper menus or an online menu. I've been asking for years and it just doesn't seem like a priority to them. I don't drive & when I need my fiance to pick up an order, I have no place to look at their full menu when I want something different or extra (deli sandwiches, breakfasts, bulk orders etc) unless I go in person and look at the board. That's not convenient or possible for me but the place IS very cute to stop at or eat in. Wish they would step into the 21st century though and simply get their menu online and if not, have paper ones available to take home. I have been going to Strathmore for about 5yrs since I moved out Riverhead. The food, and especially the bagels, have always been excellent. However, yesterday I purchased 1/2dozen cinnamon raisin bagels and it was truly difficult to find the raisins. Please take note and, hopefully, correct this oversight. read more

Stopped to get an egg sandwich here with my boyfriend and we were impressed! The place was very clean and new feeling. We bought two egg sandwiches, that came with home fries and they're homemade iced tea, then we bought a coffee and apple juice. The price only came to 11 and change. I ordered a turkey blt with cheddar cheese, one hour before the place closed. They were already closing up and dumping bagels in the trash. I ordered a roll since they said they were out of wraps. Right in front of me, the girl pulled a roll out of the trash and began to make my sandwich. I am not one to cause a scene so I didn't say anything but I already knew I was not going to eat the sandwich. After I left, I looked at the sandwich they made me for the hell of it before throwing it out and the roll was hard, there was no cheddar cheese, the lettuce was soggy, and there was hardly any meat. Service is very slow. If you need to be somewhere and you see a line it is best to turn around and walk out. I waited in line for 15 minutes before placing my order and there were only 5 or 6 people in front of me. I ordered an egg sandwich and there is only one employee who prepares the egg sandwiches. She was hustling to get all the sandwiches done, it was clear she could use some help. If she ever called out sick I could only imagine how long the wait would be. Overall the sandwich was average it was definitely not worth the 20 minute wait. If you don't mind very slow service and an average product this is the place for you, if not it would be in your best interest to go else where. read more

Came into store and ordered an rgg sandwich over easy on a toasted roll. Girl behind counter was preoccupied in thought and texting. Even though I repeated myself she neglected to toast the roll, my eggs were overdone and my sandwich sat there as she completed her texting. Another worker brought the sandwich over and asked her to ring it up. She had somthing on her mind and was asked again to ring me up. Guess I wasn't as important as her texting. First time, last time. We are new to the area. My wife went in for a dozen bagels. Two spaced-out young guys working the counter, couldn't have moved any slower. "Special of the day" was bacon and egg on English muffin. It's only 7am when customer on this slow-creeping line orders the special. One of the young counter zombies manages to mumble that they are out of English muffins. What? Place has only been open an hour. Order a dozen assorted bagels that's what you get, not 13 or 18 as other bagel shops offer. Adios, Strathmore, nice knowing you. We'll take our business to a more deserving place. read more

The sandwich was okay, the coffee was very weak and the bran muffin (wrapped in plastic) was at least a couple of days old. It was good, but stale.
