Came across this location of Goldbergs when I was out East visiting family. I've been to 3 other Goldbergs locations and they are all pretty much the same in ambiance, food, and quality of food. The part of this visit that made this location stand out was the service. The woman who took the order was very knowledgeable of the menu and made recommendations based on what was being ordered. She was quick and friendly and recommended what we were trying to order off the menu instead of by piece. This made our purchase a bit cheaper and made the experience more friendly. The GPS will take you to the back parking lot where you will have to walk around the bank and onto main street to enter but if it's a nice day, it's not a far walk. This location was clean and quick and it was nice to see the locals and regulars visiting while we were there. read more

After I had an amazing bagel experience at the Goldberg's in East Hampton, I was excited to see this location on my way out of Long Island. Sadly, this one is vastly different. While the bagels are still good (I had the lox and cream cheese), the store is very dirty and customer service lacking. We waited 20 min in line to order and there was only one group ahead of us. There were 3 people taking orders and making the food, yet they still had issues keeping the line going. Frustrating to say the least. I stop by Goldberg's every now and then as I have classes right down the street from them and wow, their sandwiches are TASTY. I get a BEC and it's been consistently great and they throw in a free coffee with your egg sandwich. The price is super affordable at about $4.60 something for the BEC and yes they accept debit. The parking is substantial, if there isn't any on the main road there's plenty in the back. The customer service isn't bad but it isn't great either, nothing extreme though and lastly they do not accept phone orders anymore. read more

Stop in with my family yesterday on a busy Saturday. Bagels were fresh and delicious. My 5 year old loved the mini bagels so much we bought her a second one, coffee was really good and the pastrami sandwich on a flagel was served with delicious spicy mustard and freshly grilled onions. Though it was busy the staff was very patient and also very engaging with all the customers. The North Fork had hardly any good bagels and Goldberg"s took advantage of that and has successfully filled in the bagel gap on the NF and now has an empire. This is one of my favorite locations. Good stopping point for breakfast on the way East. Street parking is usually available. It does get busy like all the other Goldberg's but the lines move. Sometimes they screw up the orders but it's fun getting a surprise once in awhile. I usually get the bacon and egg sandwich but when they mess up I get cheese on the sandwich. That's OK, just don't forget my bacon. They don't skimp on the bacon. In fact there is enough for another sandwich. There is lot's of seating in this location and for the most part is kept clean. Coffee is pretty good with selection of Robust, Decaf and flavored. Staff are so busy I guess it could appear that they are not friendly as other Yelp reviewers mentioned but I never had a problem with the service. Just got to be a little patient. read more

In order for me to write a review I have to provide a rating so Goldberg's in Riverhead, NY located on East Main Street gets a whopping 1 star!! They are supposed to open at 6:00AM - the staff that makes the bagels is just getting in and there are NO BAGELS at 6AM on a daily basis. If there is, they are piping hot and you cannot add any spreads as it will melt and ooze out the side. Just simply a sloppy presentation of food. There is also a consistent flood of water on the floor behind the coffee station. Exposed ceiling - perhaps I should call the department of health? This brand has gone downhill - who owns this store anyway? Does the owner pay attention or even care that their reputation has gone downhill considerably? There is lo moral, the staff will even answer you back with a nasty tone. Don't let the blonde with glasses serve you she has no clue about customer service or how to work together as a team. I really wanted to like this place. The product is great. Today , I ordered two bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. The wait time was long. So, when I received my food, it was not hot. That being said, I'm used to eating lukewarm food. So, that's not a complaint as I can heat it up at home. SOME CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: I observed three individuals: The individual with the aquiline features who was wearing a hat and shirt that read Holy Shirt, the shorter cute, plump woman, and the pretty tea au -lait complexion, glasses-wearing woman were talking over the sandwiches for an extended period of time which allowed their droplets of saliva to accumulate over the food. When I requested politely that they cease talking over the food or wear a mask , the women became loud, angry and offensive toward me and they told me to leave and go somewhere else. I reminded them that it was against the health code to talk over customers' food and I said it in Spanish so that they would avoid public humiliation. As they responded in English I was forced to publicly shame them for their lack of professionalism, respect for a high sanitary standard and respect for their customers. as there was a queue of customers who agreed with my statement, I hope that from this day forward they adopt the standard set forth by the department of health for proper food handling or retake the class What I observed today was absolutely shameful. read more

Stopped in twice during our visit to the North Fork. Had the Spicy Hobo sandwich, which might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Egg, bacon, pepper jack cheese and a hash brown on a bagel. This location is awful. The service is terrible. Not friendly or helpful. I ordered legit 3 things. Eggs, cheese and hot sauce...there were egg shells in it, they gave me packets of sauce on the side...and didn't ever put cheese on it. For what I spent I could have done a better job at home. By far the best goldbergs around!! Place is huge and clean. Plenty of places to sit and the staff is extremely friendly!! Just beware the further and further east you go the more and more money each sandwich is!! I order an East Hampton all the time. The sandwich in Riverhead is 8 bucks. Southampton 10 bucks and in East Hampton its 13!! I get it the hamptons can demand more money but why should you pay more if you know about it!!
