The egg sandwich was above average for sure but the star of the show was my pastrami Reuben with Cole slaw. Not an overwhelmingly large sandwich like social media leads everyone to believe is necessary, but it was also only $13.99 which is definitely cheaper than most local places. Side salad and pickle are included and the pickle spear was delicious. The place is immaculate, the staff was very friendly, the man who made my sandwich even asked me to report back on if I like it or not because he said he takes pride in his creations. I will stop in this week to let him know I loved it. There's a massive amount of menu items, it'll take a while to try them all out but there's a few that caught my eye which will require immediate attention. It's hard to find good delis left on the island, this was a great cross between a deli and bagel place. There's a ton of refrigerators with lots of drink choices, there's a salad bar, and of course the sandwich menu. I got to talking with the owner, Mike. Real nice guy, he seems to actually care about his business, and he's got his kids working with him. All around great find, highly recommend!!!!

It's never too late to turn a business around but the quality staff and the inefficient work flow needs to be reevaluated and corrected fast! I will not return to this business and do not recommend this place to anyone. I took my business to another bagel place where I was greeted, smiled at, served and checked out in under two minutes!

I had my first bagel here this week and it was very tasty. I had a toasted, egg everything bagel with their bacon herb cream cheese and it hit the spot. The bagel was perfect and soft like it just came out of the oven. Cream cheese amount was just right! They were not skimpy with the cream cheese... And, it was not oozing out so much that I could fill a second bagel with the drippings :O) The breakfast menu was a little hard to read past the individual bagel prices (maybe the lighter chalk, maybe my eyesight)... My husband was a bit surprised that two bagels with flavored cream cheese came to $8+change... with no coffee. I wasn't complaining about my breakfast and had coffee in the truck so it was all good, LOL! Store is nice and clean and staff is welcoming and friendly. And, the staff were all hustling butt to help everyone quickly and efficiently. One counter girl had an infectious smile, even during the early morning rush. That made my experience that much more pleasant. It got crowded very quickly during breakfast time. As their booths are a bit wide, it makes the standing space between the booths an the counter a little awkward as people start piling in. Not really something that can be controlled, but it made going back in for the forgotten napkins a little nutty. The napkin dispenser was up by the register and they had no napkin stacks anywhere else other on the occupied booth tables. Because all staff were busy with the rush, I sort of just stood there at the counter for a minute before excusing myself through the crowd to get napkins at the register. Overall, the experience was very good and positive. I'd go back just because the bagels were delicious. However, it would be cool if they offered bagel with flavored cream cheese and coffee specials. read more

Just moved back to area and stopped in for breakfast one day, lunch a few days later. I didn't realize how much I missed New York food. Bagels still delicious, portions stlll huge. The morning I was there it was really crowded, but they managed to move the line quickly. I had eggs and bacon on sesame bagel which came with home fries. Very yummy. Lunch was a chopped salad and a bagel. Also very good. Beat bagel store around, worth every penny. read more

Some of the worst management. The owner hovers around making staff and customers uncomfortable. The counter help is great. The egg sandwiches are iffy. Some days very good and other days eggs they are undercooked and sloppy. Salads have too much mayo . All in all there are many other places to pick from. Skip this one. If you have a late lunch you will be interrupting the counter girl who is sitting in a booth eating and on her phone . read more

Tip off is the seeds/flavoring only on one side, usually just the very top and pan marks baked into the underside. And no flavor unless piping hot out of the bake-off racks. Sad, I used to stumble out of the Mad Hatter (Stony Brook) in the 1970s and there was a great Strathmore (the original?) a few doors down already open at 4am. They were great and not these knock offs.
