Apparently Quinlan's is a small chain with several spots around Ireland, and after popping in, we can tell why. The thing that stood out the most for us at Mad Monk was the freshness of all the goods, specifically the seafood. I enjoy a good grilled or pan seared fish filet, but being in Ireland, it was my mission to try as many fish and chips as I could, and Mad Monk was next on the list! Before we dove into our mains, we did order one of the only non-seafood dishes on the menu, the braised beef croquettes. They were absolutely tasty, and set up our mains very well! To top it off, everything was covered in syrup. Maybe eggs in maple syrup is good for some people, but not me. I couldn't eat syrupy, overcooked eggs. My suggestion to the restaurant is to specify what kind of pancakes they are in the menu, cook the eggs as requested, and put them on the side, OR if you insist on hiding them in the crepes, serve the dish with the syrup on the side!

The staff were super attentive without being intrusive and nothing was a problem to them.
