I wanted to switch from Verizon so I ordered a SIM card and was charged for it. When I went to switch it was an absolute nightmare and their customer service reps don't speak English very well. I got frustrated after trying to switch for 2 hours and sent the SIM card back and still have not received a refund. Straight Talk states they have no record of it and I need to dispute it with my bank. So even though Verizon is more expensive, it's not worth the hassle to switch to Straight Talk. I will dispute with my bank but they sure don't have an issue taking the money right away but getting it back, now that's something else. I will never consider switching to Straight Talk AGAIN. read more

I am seriously annoyed because all I have requested was my last 3-year detailed phone call log. I have been calling them for the past 6.25 months. I have had rude customer service, especially in one of the latest calls. The gentleman asked me not to call back; otherwise, they must make another ticket. I had to wait for another three months after getting the first "Request ID" because they found out they had entered the wrong email for me. This is the kicker; after that happened, I wanted to make sure they had it correct so I asked for them to repeat back to me the email and there reply: "I cannot give you it because of confidentiality" I told them they are talking to the owner of the email, but would not EVER say back to me, my email address. Because the customer representative entered the wrong email, they told me I had to wait another three months and would escalate my ticket with another new "Request ID" Mind you, I have said to them almost on every occasion this is needed before I go to court. This did not faze them, but they stated it would go to the top of the priority list. There was a time they would not even give me the "Detail Phone Records" name of the department, which is another evasive tactic. The other thing is they keep sending a bunch of bull with excuses. The one famous one is: "Our IT department has been having issues", and another "Give us another week and we will give you a call, or "They had sent the phone logs records to your email, didn't you receive them?". The one that hurt was when the young man told me to work on it and not to call back because making another ticket would put me in the back of the line. It sure seems like there will NEVER be a record of my phone calls for the past three years. I have never heard of a phone company unwilling to give customers a detailed call list, especially under dire circumstances. The other real bummer is that I have been a loyal customer for over 7 years, and the past 2.5 years have been paying for two to three lines. You would think they would hurry up and help me and not evade, give me the run-around, or tell me not to call them back. Please tell me what I should do? I had to figure this out over two days. This pertains to a new iPhone 15. If your phone is carrier-locked, sim-locked, or shows SOS in the upper right, go to the Straight Talk website. Click on help and support on the upper right side, then click on the unlocking policy under quick links. Don't bother inputting your phone number or serial number. Call the customer support number, 1-888-442-5102. The first person you get will probably not speak good English and is clueless. I know they have a job to do and are doing their best but I am sitting here with a 700-dollar phone that will not work on the network. Tell them to transfer you to the technical department. Tell the person in the technical department that your eSim or sim card is locked. They will get you on the road to recovery. They got me up and running. Thank God. read more

Still on going issue with straight talk. I still have the wrong area code. No health insurance. Lost my job. Good news got a New job. Same field. I must be able to text. Which is part of the service I have paid for with straight talk. Yesterday I call customer service straight talk. The agent had me on hold most of the 2 1/2 hours. Said he was updating my service. Set up an account for my homeless son, and added a line with one month service. My son was able to take over the account and secure it with a pin number, and charge my credit card with straight talk for another phone line. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT BUY STRAIGHT TALK! Customer service gave us the run-around for a week claiming they could unlock the phone, for an elderly woman that needs it for her doctor's, and Lawyers. We set up the phone and lost the unlock code, we also setup the fingerprint and did not know it would require the pin upon the phone battery dieing and restarting it after a while of having it. Called customer service and went through the factory reset process 3 TIMES to end up at the same previous pin screen. Also asked for a reimbursement for the plan they talked her into buying before the phone was even unlocked. Called back the next day and talked to a guy that said "I have the tools to unlock it, it's going to take 72 hours" we waited the full time to turn on the phone and end up back at the previous pin screen... Called them back after the 72 hours and and get the same Run-around wanting me to factory reset again to no avail!?!?! She also never received a reimbursement for her plan she bought over the phone on day 1 of pin recovery. I have actually been with Straight Talk since 2011. It was okay, affordability wise, but over the past year it has become more and more difficult to get help with any issues. We had been on a multi-line plan but a few months ago we bought new phones and they bumped us off the plan and began trying to overcharge us. Last month they couldn't figure out the problem with the account and gifted us the month free, but this month they bundled two lines and one off the multi-line discount, which overcharged us by $30.79, but when I called back to try and fix it, they wouldn't credit my account or refund me the overcharge. The rep said it would end up leaving my phone without service. They literally are incompetent and set up to fail. I am looking for a different family plan now. I don't need the stress of dealing with this company anymore. They are losing a longtime customer but I bet they could care less. read more
