If you love bad customer service and long wait times Straight Talk is for you! Yesterday (10/11/19) my phone was not making or receiving calls or texts. I get onto my account on their website to make sure that I still had service and didn't need to purchase a service plan. According to THEIR website I was good until today. So, I had to get on their web chat because my phone was not working. I waited for 45 minutes for a manager to help me. The chat was disconnected. So I got back on and explained my issue again. They told me that my plan had expired and there was nothing they could do. I asked for a manger again and I waited for over an HOUR and no manager came! At this time I had no choice but to get back to work at this point and had to disconnect. This is not the only issue I have had with Straight Talk over the 10 years of service I have had with them. I originally started using Straight Talk about 4 years ago. The service was spotty. I lived in Burbank, CA. Moved to the Big Island last November. Service was poor. Had to drive into Hilo for coverage. Called at the minimum of two times a month for four months. Moved to Pahoa and no coverage at all. Simply on the display where the bars are should be I would get about 70% of the time NO SERVICE. Again, I started calling month after months with suggestions that didn't work. I then bought two new SIM cards. Nothing. I called for the last time saying the same thing. Going on 4 months I have paid you and I have no service. I would use WiFi option instead. So I paid for no service and got nothing in return. Did they offer any refund. No. Did they check to see if I got coverage YES. My first few months were flawless. Hope you don't get a NO SIM detected error message and you have no ability to text or call. After HOURS on hold and speaking to incompetent people, I simply asked for a NEW SIM hoping that would correct the problem. I was told it was .99 but if I did expedited shipping it would get here in 1-2 business days. It didn't arrive and I didn't get the tracking number they said they would send when it was on it's way. This whole escapade started on July 6th and the following story explains my total frustrations! My Samsung A21 locked up in emergency numbers screen and would not come out of it. I called Samsung they couldn't get it out then I called straight talk and after trying for a long time they said your phone is still under warranty so we are going to send you a box to send it in for REPLACEMENT with a new phone same model etc. well that was July 9th when it was sent to Cooper general wex in La Vergne, TN. that was the last I saw or heard of my original phone! to date July 17th I haven't heard a word nor have I received any call or text from straight talk. ENTERS the next phase of this story on July 13th I decided to purchase a I phone so I ordered it from straight talk 215.00 and I paid for 1 day delivery that was the 13th of July it is now the 18th of July and still no phone? Much like most of you I have all my information on my phone this is causing me considerable loss of communication and business dealings but it seems straight talk and Fed X aren't concerned in the least! So, I called straight talk and told them I wanted my money refunded...they said it would talk 30 days to refund my money?? WHAT? it only took them 2 minutes to take it! I have received 5 messages from Fed X as of today one contradicts the other one says to be delivered yesterday two say to be delivered today and two say the delivery has been updated to be delivered on Tuesday the 20th. My was double charge this past month(30 days) first on the 25th and again 28th. I called immediately cuz i have notifications of debit usage. The guy verified it was her number that was charged and immediately issued a refund. Or requested. Guess another team has to look at it or something. The next day on the 29th it was refunded, then not even 15 mins later another charge was taken out for her service. Then later that evening We nitice her phone quit working. I have spent the last week waiting on a sim card from them. So she decides to go back to att but prepaid. activating her sim she got from wamart for 10bucks. enters the sim and then imei hits continue and Bam message pops up. It's a contract, no matter what they say. We wanted to move our service to another provider as we were unhappy with reception. We had Straight Talk for 10 years. In May of 2020 we had to purchase a phone to replace a broken phone. When we called to have the phone unlocked to move service, we were told we had to pay them $135 because we had not had the phone for 12 months. We purchased the phone without any promotions or deals from Straight Talk. It is an Apple Iphone, Walmart/Smart Talk had nothing to do with our purchase. We got a lecture from a customer service representative from the Philippines of how to not try and get the phone unlocked without paying what we owed them to unlock the device. I will never do any business with them again, and I am working on helping my family members move to another company. I have been with Straight Talk for about 7 years. It's a hands-off customer service carrier. Generally, the coverage has been fine but they lack good customer service and require a manual transfer of your number when you're ready to leave them and transfer to another carrier. This process of transferring is painful. It took me an hour today working with both a Verizon representative and a Straight Talk representative to complete this transfer. There are no directions on how to do this and if not for the awesome customer service with Verizon I would have been on the phone for hours trying to get a Straight Talk representative that could speak English well enough to tell me how to do this transfer. Once we did get a Straight Talk representative on the phone, it took them about an hour to port the number over. This process normally should take 10-15 min. Overall, I would never recommend Straight Talk due to their poor customer service and requirement for a manual transfer of your number to another carrier vs. an automated process. Try another secondary carrier if you're going that route and confirm how they port numbers. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER DOES NOT DESCRIBE IT!!!! I purchased a wireless home phone device and service plan back in September 2019. Got it activated worked great for one day. Called customer service no one could understand what device I had to assist finally after an hour talking to 3 different reps someone could help, got it back in service then next day gone again. This went on for 2 months, once they actually tried to tell me my home phone itself was the problem, no it was not, then they said they were going to send me what I thought was replacement device and they sent a sim card. Still no service I finally was frustrated with them every time I would call they didn't understand what I was saying would transfer me multiple times and I would be on the phone for over an hour every single time so I called canceled the service and requested a refund of course they said they would not refund the service, mind you I had none, but when they told me they would not refund for a worthless device because I had it for more than 30 days I flew hot. After talking to 3 reps I finally spoke with a Manager in the refund department I was told I would get the refund. Told me to send the device back to keep the tracking number and if I did not see the refund call back. Well that's what happened I called, again after talking to 3 or more reps they located my account and saw where the device had been return and actually tried to tell me I had received my refund, they were looking at the date they received the device. I was told they would need to look further into it as to why I had not received my refund gave me a ticket number again 2 weeks goes by no refund posted to my account again called at this point I am furious after talking to 2 reps and 3 Corporate Managers you would not believe what they said....sorry ma'am but after review the refund was denied because you had the device for more than 30 days. Are you kidding me!!! Every supposedly Corporate Manager I spoke with said the same thing. They refused to give me the refund. I argued that you don't tell a customer that you are going to get a refund send the item back and then tell the customer my apologies the Rep should not have told you that. I purchased a Walmart Straight Talk phone about a year ago and have had more problems with this phone / service than any other I've tried... I get amazingly poor reception wherever I go in the US... When I buy another phone card from Walmart to refill my phone, I can never simply text ADD to 611 611 like they say you can do, and I can never add a card on the PC either, you have to call it in, but that's a "catch 22" as I'm renewing my phone, so I don't have a phone to call in on... And then every time you renew by phone, they wipe out your phone contents, (pictures contacts etc) and not once or twice, but every time you call to renew it takes at least an hour sometimes two of being transferred and trying to understand the language each customer service rep is speaking and taking your phone apart to pull out the sim card... This company is a nightmare... I just went through two (particularly arduous) hours of this torture once again, and I thought to myself, that's it, the fleas of a thousand camels infesting my armpits sounds good to me now, just as long as I won't have to go through that one more time... But guess what, I made the mistake of buying two cards and (you guessed it) they're non-returnable... I never made the mistake of giving them my credit card number for auto renew (Thank God), but I've heard some good tales about the poor souls who went down that road... Oh... Yes... By far, the worst "support" network on the market. Their employees are polite but have absolutely no idea what they're doing. I called in because my brand new phone would not let me send text messages or multimedia messages. Upon my first attempt, I thoroughly explained that my data was on, I had already attempted to restart the device and so on. The first representative had me verify all of this information again anyway and asked for my phones id numbers. Then, turn my device off and on. I did this. Received their text asking if the issue was resolved. "No". I received a call back. I explained what the previous representative had walked me through. This individual has me repeat the exact same steps anyway. They then said I needed to restart my device. I politely argued but there seemed to be no way around it. Attempt 3: same as attempt 2, only this time, I was transferred to a "more knowledgeable support member "... This representative walked me through the EXACT same steps. He asked me questions and minutes later, would ask me again. This happened numerous times. I tried to not be rude but my agitation was increasing. He then said he needed me to turn off my device again...... after I turned it back on, I would be receiving a call back. So I did. No call prompting me to get back to a representative. I called 611 again and they said they were closed. I literally just screamed out profanities at the top of my lungs. Here is the deciding factor: I am going to return my device... oh wait, I can't. Not sure what everyone's problem is with straighttalk. Been using them since 2012, the plans they sell work exactly as advertised. The phones they sell work exactly as advertised. I've used their ultimate unlimited plan always, used to be 45 now its 55 - and I can use 100, 200, 300 gigs in a month no problem. Always have had service, works lightning fast. Their customer support and automated lines usually allow me to fix any problem I have quite fast. I would just like to share that dealing with their support representatives is cooperable to being one of victims in the JIGSAW movies. The only difference being , that some of those victims get their organs tore out and don't have to continue to suffer like us Straight Talk customers do. Their support is maddening. Look, these support centers are located outside of the United States, thus allowing Walmart to to pay employees the fraction of the wages that they'd have to pay if these support centers were located in the US. Basically, these people are entering absolutely none of the info that you are providing them. They also have a bad habit of just hanging up if they don't know how to resolve it. Did it after 48 minutes the other day and had to start all over. This was to get my old number transferred over to my new phone. It took right at 3.5 hrs to get this done. I shit you not. I called yesterday to get my account number because I'm going back to my old carrier. This took 48 minutes. Do they not have my account number handy when they're asking me to verify my account? Told me I was out of data 8 days into the month, cut off my internet, and I had to buy more data 1/3 of the way into the month. I used data just the same with Pioneer, yet never used over 2 gb. There are "apparently" no living human beings at the company who can assist you once you are no longer a customer (good luck getting that number to a new company). I'm surprised by the negative reviews, as I've had great service since recently switching to Straight Talk - obviously, they've improved over time. I've had no issues with connectivity at all. When I first signed on and needed some help setting up my iPhone, the Straight Talk rep couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I was so tired of getting ripped off by Verizon - every month I would get a message saying that I'd gone over my data limit (even though I barely use data), and therefore my bill would be higher (the additional charges would be anywhere from an extra $15 tacked on, to an extra $30.) I am very happy with Straight Talk, and my monthly bill has been cut in half, with no worries about going over the data allotment. read more

I live in coastal South Carolina. All of our resources have gone to buying food and preparing for Florence, the store that recently came through out area. My bill is due today and phoned Straight Talk service to as for an extension and was refused. I explained the hardships we have experienced here and the extreme flooding we are to experience soon. My handicapped brother has had straight talk on auto pay for five years. In March I had to change the card number. I called customer service, gave them the new number. long story short, for two months they took the payment but did not apply it to the phone. my brother had to make extra payments to keep the phone active. After numerous calls they finally tell me the payments were being applied to another number that was not mine. They are telling me it is my fault and they will not do anything. I would give zero stars if I could! I have been with Straight Talk for years. Fortunately I have only had to use their customer service a couple of times because, it's a nightmare... not understanding what is being said, being put on and off on hold and them saying "just one moment more" for an hour, being re-routed after trying to explain your situation only to be re-routed to say the same thing agin, another-re- route and then bam, disconnected. It's the wildest thing ever. Two days ago I woke up and had zero phone service (my plan was paid through October 22nd) I do not have another phone line or landline. I'm a senior living alone. It truly was horrible and frustrating. We finally found (supposedly) where my number had been sent, but the name attached to MY phone was not even a real name, something like , anslessssssssssss, and that is really how it was spelled. I bought this iPhone 12 brand new and received it in the mail in a completely destroyed box, I called to get it exchanged because the phone looks like the phone was damaged it looks like somebody stomped on the box, it it unacceptable for a $900+ phone to be treated this way during shipment. Called to get an exchange and the representative said that I can exchange it and that I would get a new one sent overnight and she was going to provide me with return label, said she would call back......SHE NEVER DID. never got the return label or phone confirmation, I called today and they had no record of me calling yesterday and today they told me that IPHONES are not exchangeable and that I would not be guaranteed the same iPhone back and I may receive a refurbished phone...I told them that was unacceptable and now I am fighting for refund, just got off the phone with straight talk lets hope they send the return label this time!!!
