This was my second time at Stowe Bowl, and once again. It was lots of fun! My son and I bowled while my husband and daughter were skiing. We reserved a lane for an hour and a half and we were able to get 7 games in! Staff was friendly and helpful (our ball wasn't coming back in the ball return). The place is cozy and has a cool vibe. Reserved 1.5 hours for six people at $75 ($80 w/tax). When I checked out, it was $112 for the small print on the reservation that shoes were not included in that already high price. (Then they give an eye-rolling tip option of 18-25% on the $112.) Be sure to pay for your food separately to contain the tip. The bartender is friendly and provides excellent service; tip him well. 1.5 hrs should have been fine for two games for 6, but they put us next to a family with young kids. Always a favorite stop during a trip to Stowe for our family. The food is much better than any bowling alley I've even been to and they have great variety for all ages. The kids specifically loved the Mac n cheese. For drinks they have a nice variety of local beers and great mixed drinks. Beware of the party packages. I wish I had known in advance, but 2 of my guests canceled due to inclement weather at the last minute and Stowe Bowl still charged me for those people because I booked one of their party packages. In the future, I don't know if I would order their party package knowing that I am paying so much extra if people don't show up last minute. The manager refused to refund me the extra $70. If I had just booked two lanes, I would have paid $100, for 5 people to bowl for 2 hours plus ($45) for food ordered off the menu, (tots, 2 pizzas, etc) Instead, I paid $220 for the same thing. Also when a friend went into the room with the food she found an employee in there eating it. Not super professionally run in my opinion, and not very guest-oriented. read more

We booked a lane for 1 hour and to be fair we walked in 5 minutes late for our reservation. The party checking in in front of us was early for their reservation. The employee checking them in said their reservation was for 30 minutes prior even though they showed her their confirmation. We ended up checking in almost 15 minutes late at this point because of the argument that ensued between the employee and the party in front of us. She then informed us that our lane had been given away. I had to take my 3 children out of their crying because they were fully booked for the rest of the day. read more

I went to Stowe for a family wedding, and the kick-off event was a Thursday night party at Stowe Bowl. This was a nice way for us to meet my husband Matt B.'s cousin's cousins and other assorted strangers with a common interest in the bride and groom. We bonded by throwing down beers and gutterballs. Stowe Bowl is a fun, charming, state of the art bowling alley, with eight lanes and a full bar. Matt and I sampled some local beers while we bowled, including pints of the Trout River Rainbow Red Ale, the Fiddlehead IPA, and the Zero Gravity IPA, all great. The whole place was rented out for this party, so there was no wait for bar service. I can't imagine it gets much busier, though. We filled it out pretty well with like fifty people. Service was good, both at the bar and at the shoe counter. We borrowed bowling shoes and joined a lane. Matt and I are terrible bowlers, and apparently so was everyone else in our lane. In two games, we had exactly one score over 100. Matt kept hitting nine pins and missing the tenth, which, if he were a character in a novel, would be like a metaphor for how he doesn't really love his wife. (He did eventually get one strike, so a happy ending.) I don't bowl regularly (I believe my better score was an 80), but I enjoy it when I do, particularly with drinks and low-key company. i've been here a couple years ago and loved bowling, so this trip i stayed at sun and ski so i could bowl whenever i wanted without driving there! you should reserve a lane pretty far in advance, as we went on a friday and they had nothing open. i had expected this and mainly wanted to drink at the bar so my bf and i sat down, drank, and played a card game we brought with us. about 30 mins later, a staff member offered us a lane! it was very sweet of them to think of us even though we said it was okay. we bowled for 30 minutes (as we were pretty drunk and tired), and had a great time. would definitely come again and also stay at sun + ski again! read more

We were suprised to find this very up-to-date bowling alley (8 lanes) attached to our small motel. If we hadn't been so tired from traveling all day, we might have bowled a game or two. Instead, we had a drink at the bar where the very friendly and efficient bartender took excellent care of us. Hubby was thrilled to find numerous local Vermont beers on tap or in can//bottle. They even had "Sip of Sunshine" which you cannot get back in Buffalo. I had a refreshing lemon drop drink with lemon vodka and I think limoncello. Since we hadn't had dinner, we each ordered a bowl of Red Thai Pho with rice noodles. Absolutely out of this world--I would order this frequently if I was a local. Great Craft beer. This bowling alley is attached to a hotel. They have 8 lanes and the length of the lanes seem to be shorter than a normal lane. I don't see any bowling leagues wanting to set up shop here for this reason. Also, the pins are on strings, which are used to reset them once your turn is over. They don't seem to interfere with the natural physics of how pins crash into each other or fly from left to right when struck, so that was enough to not ruin our fun. It's modernly styled and has a nice bar that seats about 10 or 12 people. You can rent the lane by the half or full hour or by each game you played. We decided with 4 adults playing to rent the lane for the hour and then we ended up tacking on 30 more minutes. I think that was largely because it was a slow day and there were plenty of lanes open. They have a cocktail/food server that came by to take our drink and food orders. My one complaint was we ordered "buttered popcorn" and the popcorn came to us without butter or salt. I ended up asking the lady at the front desk for butter which they brought in one small ketchcup-cup-sized container but it was un-salted and they didn't bring salt. Plain popcorn is quite a different snack than what we were expecting. Staff was friendly over all. They also offer bumper lanes and a kid friendly dinosaur ramp for aiming. read more

TLDR: Great experience, worth the trip! Every now and then I get the urge to bowl. As time goes on that itch has become more difficult to scratch as bowling alleys close. Having seen an opportunity while in Stowe, we decided to check this out to see if it was open. This isn't your grandpa's bowling alley, it is re-imagined and hip in its execution. Clean and comfortable with leather (or at least leather-looking) couches to relax on. 80s music videos projected on the wall along with sports keep you tuned in to your team and/or ample Gen-X nostalgia. The staff is friendly and helpful. On offer are rotating taps of Vermont micro brews along with a menu of tasty treats that is unexpectedly high end. You might find the dim lighting and light effects on the lanes a bit distracting, but I feel it adds to the mood of the place and is consistent with its surprisingly swanky vibe. There are about 10 or 12 lanes so it won't ever be crowded. Very neat find, lots of fun! read more

Checked out this Stowe spot for a date night with my husband on Friday. It was popping up way to often in my feeds for me to ignore it another day. What a fun take on bowling. 8 lanes with a cozy but retro couch area for each, the atmosphere was energizing! Many beverage options but I do wish the food menu was a little meh. The menu was all over the place - offering food items like wings which would be impossible to indulge & bowl with. Indonesian satay, Mac & cheese and chicken fried rice - pick a lane! The menu just didn't fit with the rest of what Stowe Bowl was offering. Anyway, the staff were super friendly & attentive. The pricing was reasonable, too. I really liked the technology of the lanes & the giant screens playing music videos above the alleys. My husband and I had a really fun time & would definitely plan another visit! read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Showed up on a rainy afternoon to bowl. Place looked nice enough. We walk in 2-3 hour wait only 8 lanes. So we put our name in and go back to our room and wait for a call to head back. We get only ONE HOUR to bowl. And one lane. $40 for that. Then we ask for more time or another lane. $40 for another hour or $40 for another lane. So we say whatever lets do an hour. We bowl it's fine. The place is tiny. Cramped and UNCOMFORTABLE . We finish our hour head to pay and the bill is 80 FREAKING DOLLARS. Because there is apparently a $4 PER PAIR OF SHOES RENTAL FEE. Which we were told the only charges would be the lane rental of $40. Most definitely will never return here. Ever. read more

The pros-they have a bar and better food selection and server who come around and take drink orders while you bowl. Screen are up to date high tech it can take your pix to sending to FB Amazing! This place is great! Came here to visit for the weekend from Rhode Island. Mocha is our bartender and is extremely personable and attentive. Everything here was kept up and taken care of for both the mini golf and the bowling area make sure that if you want to go bowling during the day that they're open. Parking is to the left though the flow goes to the right. The facility was just redone my kids had fun I would recommend going their food is also pretty good. The front desk personnel Michelle and Ted are very helpful and want to help any way they can. The owner Rachel takes great pride in her business and values her customers business and opinions. The lanes and bar an new and hip, with TVs everywhere. It's one of the reasons my daughter and I choose to stay at the hotel, and glad we did. Great location and good service by Mocca at the bar. If you want to come on a weekend and have kids pay the extra and make a reservation so you don't have to wait.... fortunately we had a snack and then just waited in our room till the lane was ready. After 20 minutes of waiting for him to acknowledge us (line of 8 behind us) we were asked if we would like to play by the hour or game. We said hour, probably here for two hours. Mid game 1 hr in, the owner walks in and shuts down our game mid game. (Did I mention we walked in with a party of 6 also paid at the same time as us.) we asked what was happening and he told us he had a waiting list.. what?? Our young son was so disappointed! Such a great place. We checked in to the hotel because we were camping and it was a torrential storm and this Mama bear don't camp like that. The Stowe Bowl was such an amazing added bonus. The bowling was a bit pricey for 5 of us but not outrageous, and so worth it. The manager was so awesome and accommodating, a lighting strike had turned down their system so the wait was a bit longer than expected so we got a complimentary flatbread, and it was awesome! So we kept eating, more pizza, chicken wings, Pho! Yup, I said Pho! Everything was so good and very reasonably priced!
