I go here for new gaskets and gasket cement every year. The first question they ask is "did you buy your stove here" if you didn't buy it there like me, they treat you like you are just bothering them and they seemed pissy. This year I went for the normal and they won't even sell me the gasket because I didn't buy my stove there. They wouldn't even show me the different widths. They had a board up before showing the different widths of gasket but they took that down too. You can buy it at the length you want but they won't show it to you. Half the store has converted to HOLY books. It's just a weird place, rude and worth looking for an alternative. I won't be going here again and I suggest you don't either. 0 stars Normally I would rather pay more and buy it at a mom and pop but in this case I'll buy what I need for half on amazon. read more

These store owners are the rudest people! I have no idea how they stay in business. We bought two stoves from them years ago and they've been horrible every time we've stopped back. Worst customer service ever. And they purport to be Christians and sell Christian goods. They even go to our church! Spend your money somewhere else. read more

A cute little mom and pop shop that specializes in fire places. The selection is small but the owners (Ed and Jan) will personally walk you through different options they offer. My parents came here looking to install a new fire place in their house. Ed did a great job educating us about the different options they offered. The place looks very clean and is organized and designed in a very professional manner, but still had the feel of a local shop. IThe only problem, being a mom and pop shop, are the prices. They are higher than other more commercial stores. read more

We had an insert installed 20 years ago. We are in the process of selling our home and a Level 2 certification was required. When I call stoveworks to inquire how to go about this the woman on the phone was beyond rude and just kept referring me to the website and their contractors. She was very insistent that the stove was installed properly. After many calls, none of the contractors listed were able to provide the service. My realtor recommend Smith's Chimneys and they are here now as I type. Our liner was never properly installed it is crushed all the way up the chimney and has to be totally replaced. As a young couple we thought we did a good thing by going to a reputable, established company to have our insert installed. We would never have known that it was not installed improperly if we were not in the process of selling the home. We are no longer that young couple but I felt the need to post this for any other "couples" that may consider using Stoveworks for their fireplace needs. I think I would have been less upset if the woman I spoke to on the phone even for a minute or two acted like she cared - but she didn't and just wanted me off the phone. read more

Actually I have to disagree with the other reviewers who say that they treat you really poorly if they find out you bought your stove elsewhere, because they actually treat their own customers just as poorly, as soon as the sale is complete. I bought a top of the line, "state of the art" fireplace from them last year. It worked fine for the first winter. Now every time I turn it on it immediately fills the house with black soot. The gas company came out and cleaned everything and put it back together; it worked okay for ONE DAY and now it is filling up my building with black soot again. They act annoyed and have refused to help other than suggesting a chimney sweep. The gas company confirmed the chimney is completely clear and has no venting problems. I would highly advise to spend your money elsewhere. read more

I had bought gas logs elsewhere and had a problem with the fit. I hadn't realized that they sell gas logs. I had called them to see if I could buy a necessary part to troubleshoot our problem and they instantly told me they couldn't help me. They didn't ask what brand I was using or how to identify the part. They just said "sorry we can't help you" without even asking for information. I was happy to find someone local but they clearly aren't interested in your business if you don't buy a complete log set or fireplace from them. read more

I have been a customer for over 10 years. I bought the Green Egg from the Stove Works several years ago and I have had the occasional parts wear out. The Green Egg has a life time warranty and they have replaced the damaged parts no questions asked. read more

I love this place. I have been a home renovating contractor for 20 years and always contact the good people at Stoveworks when I have any fireplace or wood stove needs. They have been in business for a long time and know what they are talking about! I have many, many happy satisfied customers that I referred to them for sales and installation of gas fireplace and stoves. They also sell the best in BBQ supplies and grills. A wonderful assortment of quality, fairly priced stoves (free standing and inserts) repeat with a cornucopia of stove accessories offered for sale by honest, down to earth, no-nonsense husband/wife duo. But honestly, quality and fair-mindedness aside, what really keeps me coming back for supplies is that the hard-working owners are the just the nicest people who always have time to talk to us because they have a real interest in their patrons. Service not very helpful. Good selection of fireplaces but I would buy from somewhere else!!! I purchased my Avalon wood burning insert 3 months ago and I'm having a problem with the blower staying on. I was told that it could be a problem with the Thermodisk reading the temperature which I agree with. Ed told me that I don't have a problem after two days of troubleshooting with him and that I should start the fire on the right side where the disk is because the fire isn't getting hot enough. REALLY... I have been doing the same thing for the last three months and the blower worked fine. Now the blower turns on then off every 30 seconds but the problem is me. What a poor answer. I was ready to pay their $190 an hour service charge for the tech to come out to stick a Penny in-between the firebox and the Thermodisk because I can't get to it. What a joke! read more

I bought a Big Green Egg cooker from Stove Works last week and the experience was very positive. I got an excellent price, with a bag of charcoal and a few other pieces thrown into the deal. Ed and Jan were very pleasant to deal with. Ed and I drove to their warehouse to load my egg. We unboxed the pieces to ensure they were not damaged prior to me accepting it. Jan gave me a quick walk-through on using the cooker. Stove Works carries an assortment of fairly priced spices and rubs for outdoor cooking that I will return to purchase. Ed and Jan were very pleasant and that will keep me coming back for outdoor cooking supplies. read more

My father has been a long time customer of Stoveworks (unfortunately it's the ONLY wood burning stove store in the area) and has purchased a top of the line stove from them. Throughout the whole process they told my father that he couldn't fit the stove he wanted into his hearth. So he measured the dimensions again and it would easily fit. After several conversation with ED, he finally came out to do the consultation. Guess what, it fit! My father never got an apology for aggravation that they put him thru and has never had a pleasant experience with them. I recently called the store to ask what time they were open til and instead on just giving me a time, Jan nastily asked me what I was looking for... I told her stove accessories. She responded with a time quickly and hung up the phone before I could ask her another question. So we got there about an hour before they closed. I had my puppy with us so I thought it would be ok to ask if I could bring him into the store. It was a freezing cold day and I didn't want to leave him in the car. I was in the store for literally 3 seconds trying to find the owners when this woman swooped up on me and said "Oh no! No dogs! People are scaried to death of dogs and that's why I have to keep my dog out back!" I looked at her in amazement that she made such I huge deal about a little 5lb puppy. She didn't even give me the chance to ask!!!! She is so nasty. So that is the last time I will EVER go there and I will make sure everyone who asks me knows the unfortunate experience I had. July 2017 and still was not resolved. People do not believe him it was not resolved still have the ugly doors ready to remove them myself and trash them. Also sloppy install work not tight against wall and black putty all inside door...terrible. How can this place stay in business. All I can say people is be very careful when dealing with this business. Read all paperwork and make sure you get what you paid for...we didn't! They (or he) will give you the run around saying oh well you signed it so too bad. Can't really go into much detail since I was not the person who purchased the fireplace door, my friend did, but I was there. And all of this, me and my friend are not even talking because of this bad deal. Never ever dealt with anyone like them before in my life. Again, if you have to purchase anything from them....read everything....do not leave and pay for it until you do or else you will be sorry. Don't take my word on it just read what others are saying too. Shop around I'd advise you too. He tells everyone he is so sorry....believe me he is not! If your so sorry then fix the problem right? nothing after a month went by....crook. Again be VERY VERY careful when dealing with them....unbelievable! Months later and still nothing paid 1 thousand dollars for a ugly looking door and got ripped off. Wish I could leave -0 stars which is what they deserve! Hope they shut down...they should....crooks!! You would think that they would resolve it to get a good review but nope they won't cause they don't care...period. Again STAY AWAY! Buyer beware, read your paperwork. A friend and I went to get fireplace doors. I had wanted an arch but my fireplace was not designed for it. I picked out the doors that I wanted, literally pointed to the door that had a nice design on it that included an arch in the design. After many questions, got my paperwork & didn't think twice about it, as in, I didn't check the paperwork. I assumed that the doors I pointed to were the doors that I was getting. Getting to the point, I got my doors, they were just plain doors, no design. I called the store & Jan said that she could call the manufacturer & see how much it would cost to put a design on it. I declined as I had already paid $800.00. It does not matter what door you pick out, by the time you have answered questions, you will get an overpriced plain door. I should have taken a picture of the doors that I wanted, but I didn't. This company is all about the paperwork. Doesn't matter what you pick. The only thing that matters is the paperwork. Point, check your paperwork, get something in writing that says that the doors you picked are what you are getting or go to another store. This, unfortunately, is the only one in the area. read more
