I have used Fisher's Appliance Service twice now. Once a few years back for a washer repair and…read morelast week for a refrigerator repair. Our fridge stopped cooling over the weekend. I called Fisher's on Sunday and left a message and he called me back early Monday morning. I told him the problem and he was upfront about the service call charge. I understand that tradespeople are not coming to look at appliances, plumbing, electrical, etc. free of charge and there will always be a service call charge. He told be he could be at my house around 2:00 the same day and gave me a ten minute heads up phone call when he was on his way. Jonathan Fisher is the owner and also the technician. In my two experiences he has been timely, polite, friendly and clean. He explained to me clearly and in detail that my problem was either the electronic switch or the compressor. If it was the switch I was in good shape but if it was the compressor, it would be better for us to purchase a new unit. Thankfully it was the switch and after about 45 minutes we were up and running. As he advised me when returning my phone call, he put the service call fee towards my bill and for about $275.00 our fridge has been working great. Not cheap but certainly less expensive and less painful then shopping for and buying a new fridge. I would highly recommend Fisher's Appliance Service. He has also done work for some of our neighbors and they have been also pleased with his service.

Hawkins Appliance Repair

My dishwasher stopped working and flooded out of the blue…read more I picked Hawkins and two other companies based on their reviews, for estimates. Hawkins replied quickly and definitively, and provided a reasonable look-see price that would be folded into the final price if I got the work done. Even better, they could come out the next day. The tech, Shawn, called when he was 16 min out and arrived right at the beginning of the two-hour window that had been promised. He couldn't have been more friendly, polite and professional. He got to the root of the problem quickly, and then found another. He fixed that, too. It had been a clogged drain and a blown wire of some kind. Then, he gave me some tips on how to keep the unit clean and fit going forward. I am so glad I called Hawkins and they will be my go-to appliance repair from now on. I could not have been more pleased with the work that was done.

Had the gasket replaced for my front load washer (previous one was moldy when we moved in, and…read morewanted to start fresh). Yes the gasket was replaced, and yes it is functional enough. But the quality of work and overall experience were disappointing. The machine often gives an alert that the door isn't closed properly and there is a metal coil/wire that is visible above the gasket that was not visible before. Technician left three screws on the floor (they were reportedly replaced when we called about it) but it's still a hazard - we have a crawling baby who loves to put everything in his mouth and the three screws were in a high traffic area. Finally, they charged more than what they quoted through this app.

I had a dryer that wasnt heating up. Johnny from Mr Appliance came tp my home, diagnosed the issue…read morethat it was a faulty coil as well as a faulty gas valve. The diagnosis was $127 and to fix the entire thing, it was $358.86. Johnny never discussed the price with me prior to the service. Anyway, I paid the $358.86 and assumed job done. Mr Appliance does offer a money back gauruntee on their work. This happened on a friday. I used the machine for the first time on Sunday, two days later and it was still not heating up. I called Mr appliance who sent Johnny back out. Johnny then let me know that it actually needed another part which they could order for me and that part was a sensor. This is the sensor that helps the machine understand when it's safe to open the gas valves. According to AI, when this particular machines not heating up, this is the part that is typically faulty. Mr Appliance wanted to charge my another $380 to get this part and install it. When I mentioned the money back, they told me that they could only give me partial money back even though it wasnt fixed but they were still going to charge the diagnostic fee, which Johnny Clearly screwed up. I was going out of the country and needed a dryer that was working for my family so I quickly bought a new one from Lowes and had them install it the very next day. Mr Appliance called me the next day to let me know that they were shipping the part to my house. I did not ask them do this, but that they were going to install it for free. The part was by the way, after I googled it, worth $15, so Johnny was going to charge me $360 to install a $20 part after he misdiagnosed the issue. To me this seems like fraud or incompetence. I have tried to call management to discuss my feelings and not have gotten a call back. I was waiting to talk to them before posting this but at this point I think the public deserves to know what they did. Luckily, I disputed the charge with the credit card company and just heard that they've already closed the case and I got my credit. The good guy one in this case.
