Family business. Cindy is nice and tried to help but makes the mistake of putting brother Brian( an Expert he believes) on the phone. He should have retired years ago. Doesn't let you explain or finish your question. Has All the answers without even letting you talk. Very ignorant arrogant rude person. Complained about having to climb steps when he was here and said they should have charged more, seemed to put him in even a worse mood. Whined actually. UPDATE::7/10/24. Cindy sent Mike- a technician (I believe ) who actually was kind, caring , listened, explained a lot and understood. Had manners. Like a normal person should be. Was a complete difference from Brian. Needing accurate dependable customer service? My advice, call another company!!! SCENARIO: 1). Customer explains in detail the problem you are experiencing with your appliance, and provide make and model. You are given a 7 1/2 hour window for your service call! Yes, 8:30am to 4:00pm! This is unheard of! 2). My service call was scheduled for 08/20/20 with a window of 8:30am to 4:00pm. At 3:30pm I still had not heard from A1 and I could no longer wait due to a personal issue and needed to reschedule. I rescheduled for 08/24/20 and was assured that rescheduling was not an issue. 3). On 08/24/20, at 10:30am, I decided to give A1 a call to see if I could narrow my window by inquireing about the service call lineup for the day. I was told that I was the "4th name on the list and the serviceman would probably get to me between 1pm-2:30pm depending on how involved the first 3 repairs were". So, I waited! 4). 4:10 pm, NO SHOW, NO CALL from A1! So, I called A1 (needless to say, I was NOT happy)! The conversation was as follows: Me: "Hello, it is 4:10pm and I have not heard from anyone!" A1: "You cancelled"! Me: What?!?!?! I most certainly did NOT cancel!!! A1: "Well there is a line through your name!" Me: What?!?! Why would there be a line through my name? I called and spoke with you guys this morning to confirm and also tried to narrow my window, remember??? (And then their story changed!) A1: "Oh, you're the one with the bottom freezer frig, right?" Me: Right!?!?!?! A1: "Well, our serviceman doesn't know how to fix that kind of refrigerator and he said he called and left you a voicemail to let you know!" Me: What?!?! I never received any call, nor voicemail! And, why does it take 4+ days to decipher that my frig was not within your service capabilities? A1: (crickets) Me: Well, you've just wasted 2 work days for me..........etc. etc. I was extremely frustrated! ***No apology! No accountability! If I could give 0 stars I would... worst customer service I've ever received. In fact, a technician told me I had no idea what I was talking about and I should just stop. Purchased a brand new washer and dryer and the dryer was broken! When asked to come out to check it I never got a call back. Had to track them down and when the technician showed up he replied with "I'd rather be anywhere but here". They never provided me with the information of what was wrong with the dryer and never gave me any contact numbers. Disappointing experience to say the least. read more

We've been purchasing from this family for many years. Always can find a good machine at a decent price and I feel they treat you fairly.

My husband used to work nearby and suggested that we try A1 when we were looking for appliances for a kitchen remodel. Poor planning on our part as it didn't dawn on me that they might not deliver to Pennsylvania until I was almost at the door. We decided to go in and find out. I asked my question immediately so I wouldn't waste anyone's time. Cindy told me that my hunch was correct, but we could pickup the appliances ourselves if we wanted. I didn't want to risk damaging our new appliances or our truck, so decided against it. Cindy was very nice and she discussed different brands with us and looked up a few prices so we could compare with another store. She also gave me a list of places to try that are located near our home in PA. Cindy was amazing, especially knowing that we likely wouldn't be buying from her due to the delivery concern. False advertising. Shows on door they accept major credit cards. Won't accept credit cards as payment for electrical parts. If you need parts go somewhere else these guys aren't worth it. I have been a customer since the store was in Merchantville NJ, I have bought a refrigerator, and a washer and dryer in the past. I received a sale letter and went in to purchase a new refrigerator, but the owner informed me that because I live on a 3rd floor condo, he did not want my business and would not have his workers have to go up the stairs even tho there are two landings.I respect the decision but his tone and rudeness will keep me from recommending customers to them and that goes for any service that is needed,he shouldn't be dealing with people,no customer skills at all I won't be back read more

i received several recommendations for A-1 appliances in Delran for a washer repairman. i called and someone came out to my house within a couple of hours. he looked at my washer for 5 minutes and told me i need a new washer. then gave me a bill for $100 as a service fee. i think everyone deserves to be paid but i spoke to 2 different people at A-1 before the man came to my house and no one told me about the excessive service fee, not mention that i live a mile from the place so travel is no expense. then he told me that they would give me a $25 credit toward a new washer in their store. complete scam. its disheartening too because i like to support local businesses but this is no way to run a business. like i said, i believe everyone should be paid, but for 1 mile away and 5 minutes of work....$100 seems excessive. and to boot, before he left, he tried to sell me a $900 washer... read more
