Marcus is BY FAR the BEST plumber I've ever met! Honest, reliable, and very knowledgeable. With old plumbing, and the previous owner having done a lot of the work themselves, I haven't had the best of luck in the past with plumbers actually fixing the problems. I asked a family friend for a recommendation, and they couldn't stop raving about Marcus. Not only is he very nice, but he is super knowledgeable. Emergency date: June 28th, 2025 When looking for a plumber via Yelp, I came across Marcus. I called, he answered, and after explaining the situation that I was dealing with on hand, Marcus knew exactly what it was that needed to be done. We have had this problem before, (but instead of reaching out to any plumbing company, we went forward with our apartment building maintenance). Without, mentioning to Marcus what was done to resolve our prior issue with our buildings maintenance guys, Marcus explained every step that he would have to take in order to resolve this issue. Everything explained, was EXACTLY everything our maintenance guys did to resolve our toilets clog and flooding issue about a year ago. Marcus Allen is an outstanding plumber -- skilled, reliable, and solution-oriented. He's handled multiple complex plumbing issues in my home with expertise and care. First, a simple-sounding clog in the primary bathroom sink on the second floor turned out to be anything but simple. The pipes were severely backed up, and Marcus had to clear the blockage from the first floor -- not an easy job, but he got it done efficiently. Next, when my Sub-Zero refrigerator started leaking, Marcus rerouted the water line without opening up the walls or removing any tiles -- saving me time, money, and a major headache. Most recently, he fixed a second-story toilet leak caused by an incorrectly installed wax ring and waste pipe. I had an apt with water leaking from tub spout when shower was on. I called Story Plumbing and he was able to be there on Friday, he was early! Which meant he had to wait for me. He was able to change the diverter I think and fixed the problem in less than 20.min., and left it clean. We had a very last minute emergency, that unfortunately grew. We rang as a referral, Marcus came out same day to fix the minor problem we rang for, but also began to fix the other issues that came up. Marcus was very kind, explained what he was doing before he did the work, including the costs, to be sure we knew things upfront. When other issues arose, he was honest about it, did not color coat the truth but explained what could wait and what couldn't. A true genius. We took the toilet off, cleaned it out, cleaned out the drain pipe and added a new flapper but still did not flush right. Great! Has a lot of knowledge in plumbing, and very professional about it. Previous plumbers used, didn't want to replace individual parts in our shower, just wanted to make the job bigger. Pat has always been very responsible to our commercial emergencies...better than any other vendor, from owner operator to big chain. Pat is also great at fixing what is broke which has been mentioned by others here. So many other vendors want to do more than is necessary to enhance the bill. Pat is also up for a challenge. He has removed built-in water fountains, and replaced mop utility sinks, sawed of legs and modified drains to accommodate the fit. Many others would have just declined the work when it requires a bit of ingenuity and creativity outside the box. All this while being personable, and fair to relatively inexpensive for the quality and consistency of his work. I have him 5 stars because he has earned it, and I make time to write these reviews for the vendors that do. I would hope you will too as it's becoming harder to find these gems in the industry.
