Undergoing a name change. Dropped in for a crab boil. Staff seemed a little lost but that could be because of the change happening. The food was good but has the potential to be much better. The restaurant was nice and clean but was a little confusing as it's in the change over. The crawfish/shrimp boil was good but lacked flavor. Nice portions and great flavor on everything else. I definitely try this location again just hope there is a little more flavor. read more

We read a lot of mixed reviews about the Storming Crab and finally gave it a try. The place has a fun decor vibe, reminiscent of Joes Crab Shack in the old days. We were seated and greeting immediately. A few minor hiccups..... our server gave us unsweetened tea with almost no ice, when we had ordered sweet. Quickly remedied. We were going to order the seafood bread as part of our appetizer, but our server told us he would bring us some for free. It never happened. Regarding the meal itself.... Everything tasted pretty good, fresh enough (for Texas anyway), although my daughter's Po Boy was kinda sparse on filling. All in all, a positive dining experience and we will probably return. read more

Came here recently because my family and I were wanting seafood but didn't want to drive far from home. This was my first time here. Dillon was a really great server. Very nice, respectful and mindful. We went on a Tuesday night which can always be a little slow. No biggie. Food came out pretty quick once waiting at the table for 10 mins. They give out free bread which didn't taste that bad. I ordered the Cajun pasta and it was alright, could've been better. Fried catfish had good breading but it was a little too thick. Fries were nice and crispy. The étouffée was pretty good. And their seafood pick 3 was mid. Overall not my cup of tea. read more

We came here for Saturday dinner and there was no wait for a table. We got the #1 dinner combo, it was enough for 2 people. The seafood bread came first as a free appetizer which was nice. I would definitely come back here if it was a little closer to me, price very reasonable. read more

Decent boil. I won't complain at all. It was a lot of food that came with it. Now service isn't great and the oyster shooters are horrible!!!! I also like that you get cheese bread to start with. I ordered the No. 4 combo that comes with snow crabs, crawfish and shrimp (I believe 1 lb of each). Also did very hot and it was barely any kick to it and mixed all the flavors. Couldn't taste much until the bottom just from the excessive amount of butter. I took the remainder home and after it sat overnight it was really good. I'll go back thought honestly lol. read more

Food was mediocre. It was my birthday and I was highly disappointed. The service was fine. The seafood platter that I paid almost $80 for was not worth it all. I would definitely just stick to my regular place aka King Krabz. 0/10 would not recommend. Also if you are a larger group you will be paying a 18% gratuity. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar for baseball and crawfish. The 8 pounds of crawfish (split between a couple) came out FAST and was incredible! Beer was cold. Sides were soso, and there are no salads on the menu, although a house and Caesar are off menu items. Not happy that the price on the menu didn't match the price per pound. Also the staff seemed a little overwhelmed so refills were slow. The manager could not get our game to play, so we were stuck watching it on the phone. All in all, this seems like a fun place to bring a family- like a mom & pop Joes Crab Shack. read more

Gumbo was horrible. It had the consistency of thick dark brown gravy and didn't taste remotely like gumbo. Took two spoonfuls and sent it back. The fried shrimp tasted like shrimp tempura which was not what I was expecting from a Cajun place. They could have used more spice. Even the fries were bland. Crab cakes were meh (we've had better from Costco!). and the imitation crab balls that came with the crab cakes got left behind after the first bite. Best thing about the place was the service and the saltine crackers that came with the gumbo. read more

It was difficult to locate the establishment. The business had a sushi sign instead of the business name. The business name was on the windows. Very easy to miss. We were greeted and seated very quickly. The environment was quite and strangely had no smell of food. We were given menus that were very old and dated and a lot of the items were mark off unavailable. The prices were too high for the atmosphere and menu selection. costumer service for to go was amazing. I don't remember the young ladies name but she was kind and patient. THE SEAFOOD BOIL I had on the other hand was disgusting. I has a seafood boil and the flavor was awful. It looked like it had flavor but there was no flavor. The service was terrible. We seen our server once to take our food. Then once at the end to ask how everything was. We asked for sweet tea and was given unsweetened tea. Left all the unsweetened teas on the table till we had asked her to take them away. Ordered eggs and sausage and didn't receive it till the very end after we are almost done eating. Needs better service. The manager did come out and talk with us, he was nice and friendly, but our server still was not attentive or helpful at all. Food was alright. read more

Awful!!! My family and I ate at the location in McKinney and got FOOD POISONING from the "Raw Oysters"!!! We had a party of six adult's but only three of us ate the raw oysters- we three were all EXTREMELY SICK...sick...sick and missed work on Monday. We live in separate homes this was the only thing we did together. RAW OYSTERS on a late Saturday night = Food-borne Illness!!! Food poisoning!!! The manager didn't compensate us at all we spent over$700 all he said was I'm sorry and we get people calling saying they get sick all the time!!! Awful customer service and Deadly Raw Oysters!!! DON'T Recommend!!! Also they added tip (fine) but later changed it to a much higher amount "UNAUTHORIZED' Will be calling back! read more

I'm from New Orleans and I'm used to having well seasoned and crispy fried fish, especially during Lent. The Storming Crab did not disappoint me. The catfish is fresh, crispy and they serve a generous portion of food. The cheese bread was a great bonus, as I wasn't sure what it would be like. It was excellent. read more

15.99 a pound for overcooked crawfish. Definitely the most expensive around DFW. Ordered 6 pounds requested half mild and other half spicy. Waiter then makes fun of my guest saying she needs to keep up with her spice and he's going to cook all of them together so it'll be easier for him. We were adamant on having half mild since she can't eat spicy. He brought out the 6 pounds all spicy and overcooked. On top of that decided to charge our card for another table's order on top of ours. Asked if we ordered the catfish and just stared at us like we would be alright accepting the bill for someone else's table. Absolutely ridiculous, overpriced over cooked terrible service. read more

Checked out this restaurant for a change. We eat seafood often. Unfortunately even though it was 2:00 in the afternoon, and we were only 1 of 2 tables on the whole place. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. I ordered a salad and I had to finally ask the hostess for it because I was famished. The food when it finally came was marginal. My husband got clams and he approved. I got catfish and it was thin and overcooked IMO. read more

I had the Salmon and liked it. Another person had the burger and it was overcooked from how he requested it. Now the Bad... Crab legs are not made with fresh crabmeat. Fresh is white and flaky, these were brown and mushy. Two people ordered the crab legs and they were unable to eat them. They were overcooked and, not sure how, but some of them had burn marks on them. How do you burn something that is boiled? Also it was impossible to crack them open. The shells were soft and just folded over and you couldn't get them open. You could twist the leg back and forth and it wouldn't break open. I think perhaps they were left sitting in the water after they were cooked. Those were sent back and those two people didn't get to eat. The sad part of that is that after they were returned a manager came out and actually argued with them about the overcooking of the legs. He said that was impossible and that nobody else had complained. Wow, instead of just apologizing and saying it would be removed from the bill. That alone took this place off our list forever.
