They told me the battery and alternator both needed to be replaced, and I paid a little over $1,000 for the repair. As soon as I got home, the exact same noise was still there. I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic, who showed me that only the battery had been replaced. The alternator was still the same one and looked like it had never even been removed. When I called to ask for a refund for the alternator, they told me to bring the car back. By then, my car was already at the other shop being repaired correctly.
