We were travelling on a long trip and coming back thru Orlando airport; not my favotite landing…read morespot- especially after 40 hours of flying, sitting, layovers and wondering about delayed connections and what we'd find at home after a 17 day journey. Not to worry. I'd seen a review for 863 Enterprise and made arrangements to pick us up so far in advance, I worried they wouldn't remember us. Not to worry. Despite spotty cell service, the 13 hour time difference and the late arrival, Zack was there waiting! And he checked in via text along the way to let us know he had it covered. A real help when so much else is beyond our control. In fact I'd like to suggest a logo for him... 'Not to Worry Transfers!' I don't know how he did it but even I-4 traffic was tame and we made it to Lakeland in about an hour. If you travel, or if you have a fab trip planned, or even if you want to go to a nice restaurant or event in Tampa, Orlando, or even farther afield from Polk, Zack's your man! He even solved our inscrutable dilemma of leaving out of Tampa and returning to Orlando! There's plenty to worry about when travelling today. It's a comfort to know the airport trasnsfer bit isn't one of them.

The City of Lakeland has seven local historic districts with a combined area of 1.42 square miles. The districts protect more than 1,600 historic buildings and 13 individual landmarks. The Munn Park Historic District was designated a U.S. historic district on November 3, 1997 in Lakeland, Florida. It is named in honor of the city's founder, Louisville, Kentucky businessman Abraham Munn. Munn purchased 80 acres of land that now comprises the Lakeland downtown business district. The Munn Park Historic District is bounded by Bay Street to the north, Lemon Street to the South, Florida Avenue to the west, and extends around Lake Mirror to the East. The grand entrance to the district is the Lake Mirror Promenade designed by noted landscape architect Charles W. Leavitt. This historic district covers the main business area of Lakeland and includes many original buildings dating from as early as 1902. It contains 48 historic buildings and Munn Park which was the first open space in the city. Dedicated in 1884, it is the town square in the city. The Munn Historic District is an almost exclusively commercial district. Today you can enjoy historic buildings, dining, shopping, parks, and public art in this beautiful historic district It is very pedestrian friendly. Fun fact, Lakeland is the largest city in Polk County. Last year more people moved to Polk County than any other county in the United States. The future is looking bright for this stately, historic city.

This is downtown Lakeland. It's lovely!!!…read more There are nice restaurants, a lovely walk around Lake Mirror with some landscape architecture, Hollis Gardens and the newish and fun architecturally inviting Lakeland Brewery as well as the Amtrak Station. Closer in around Munn Park there are great public art works, lots of fun and fine restaurants including Harry's, Black and Brew and Delivicious coffee spots, a Mexican place, Palace Pizza, and Fresco's bar and cafe place next to Palace Pizza. Lots to explore and enjoy. Architecture. Natahan's clothing store. Old school Gaines Geo Jeweler with retro signage. This is the all-American downtown you've been searching for. Art. Food. Architecture. Banks. It's alive. Come take a look and enjoy. Walkable.

Stopped by this outside mall as the alternative stop instead of crowded Bonnet Springs Night Event…read more Initially this reminded me of Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel. I think it's a little bit smaller but similar layout and stores. What I didn't like the most is how dark it was. I don't think that's so safe. It was early enough to where there was at least two more hours of shopping before stores closed yet really dark. It's been about 10 years since I've been here, and it seems to look about the same as that time. They did have a Christmas tree in the center. That at least brightened the place up a bit. The stores off hand that I recall where Bath and Body, Kirkland's, a boutique with country ware, a Thai restaurant, a Vietnamese restaurant, BD's Mongolian BBQ which I was surprised to see, & a Grillsmith. They also had a movie theater and a book store. Those were some of the stores off hand. There were also a handful of empty spaces. The parking was free along the inside of the mall street parking where we parked. The Best Part Was Seeing the Bloom Mural!

Nice outside shopping area right in Lakeland…read more Our whole Fam has a great time here and they have many food options. We did notice on our last trip that there were a decent amount of store fronts now closed, hopefully other will come in soon and this isn't going to be another half full shopping center. We would really miss going here. They have a movie theatre, plenty of food choices from semi affordable to less affordable and a decent amount of stores to peruse through. Most of the stores are your basic chains, but at least you can have a nice walk outside with nice scenery while you walk. They had a huge Christmas tree, great for a photo op. The only thing this place is lacking is for a more trendy or niche/boutique stores that would sell non dept. Store/Mall items. You know something different!!! If you want to have a nice walk about while you shop/eat then check this place out, it's good for a day out with Fam for sure!!!
