DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!! I tried to call up there and was told that if I come up there that she is armed with a gun and will shoot me if I come up there and wait for management. My wife and I went in here to rent a storage unit. We paid went back to open our empty unit 606 and look what we found. A whole mess of rat poo. We walked immediately back to the office and asked for them to refund us our money as we aren't going to put our stuff in these units. The office person stated that they would have to cut a check from "corporate" and couldn't refund our card because they don't have the correct systems to run credit cards. They have to manually enter the number into the system. It has been two weeks and still no refund. Today I just received that storestuff has locked me out of the rat infested unit they attempted to rent me. Go ahead and auction off that rat poo I'm sure someone will pay good money for it. Oh and I never signed the contract because they forgot to have me do that part. So now they are charging me for a unit that I expressly denied because of the conditions as well as won't refund me my money. Stay FAR FAR FAR away from this place. The owner was even in there while we were renting the unit and just stood off to the side like a creeper and didn't even introduce himself to customers. My encounter with this location was very positive. I rented a truck online, and was offered a discount to arrive later. They couldn't find my trucks keys, so I just remained patient while they looked for them. Sure enough.. hidden under some paperwork. The guys were super pleasant to work with, and assisted me by letting me keep my trailer parked there while we loaded the truck. Then they assisted me in getting my Jeep on the trailer, which is fantastic cause I have no idea what I'm doing here! Lol One even gave me a nice pen as a souvenir for being a Veteran. Disgusting place. They make you sign a contract that excludes rats and mold. Now I know why. My things were infested with rat feces, urine and mold everywhere. My beautiful belongings are ruined. STAY AWAY. Lots of theft and stealing from customers. read more

Great experience! The manager was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. The place is definitely a budget place however the facilities seem well kept and secure with the gate. Rented a Penske from here and will never again. I got a 16' truck for two days and was quoted online around $60 plus mileage, deposit and taxes. I figured moving to the other side of town, this wouldn't be too expensive. What I have a problem with, only putting on TEN MILES, was that I was charged for EIGHTY-FIVE miles! At .71 per mile, that's a $50 difference!! Now if I had known, OR TOLD BY THE TWO GUYS AT THE OFFICE (who, by the way, seemed overwhelmed when there were only four people in their store) that I it was standard to put 85 miles on a LOCAL truck and I would not be refunded the difference, then I never would have went with them. Never again. Get new staff. read more

Please make sure to check your storage room here and be extra cautious about renting a storage unit if it is your life's belongings. We stored most of our home contents here as we moved to the area from West Texas where we lived in our home for 15 years, and were staying with our parents while we searched for a home for our family. 4 kids and 2 adults. 6 months of storage. Our unit was destroyed by rats and mold. We purchased extra insurance as we always get insurance; unfortunately none of it is covered under the policy. Im not talking about a few mice. Im talking infestation of rats and "atmospheric mold" as the insurance company stated. No calls from manager after voicemails and emails. Complete avoidance. It's going to be okay though. I know how the universe works. In the end, kharma exists. It's certainly been a setback but we still have our family. It's a very devastating situation but we will prevail. We lost everything except for a few boxes. Brand new memory foam mattress that cost over $3000. Gone. I NEVER take the time to write reviews but this one is worth spreading the word. Their contract does state that mold and vermin are not covered as well as the insurance providers verbiage so too bad for us. They have no liability and it is very clearly stated. However, I have used storage rooms before for my husbands job and NEVER experienced this kind of devastation. The photos are never ending but these should give a good idea. It is a total loss for us. Just advising to be very careful with storage here. At least for us, it wiped us out. I could not post this without selecting at least 1 star. read more

They suck. The manager sucks. They are not professional. Any monkey can di the mangers job. They have no regard for peoples to.es and the rules of the locked gate can be enforced some other kind of way but they allow people to be trapped inside the gate way more than there has to be. read more

So today they were supposed to have an auction on 20+ units starting bid 1$. So I thought heck yeah. I woke up early got both kids ready to go. I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD IT CAN BE CRAZY! Get in car get gas and breakfast drive 3 towns away. Arrive on time for once! Only to find out there was a misprint in the add and it won't happen until next week! WTF!? The employee said they hired an auctioneer who made a mistake, but honestly its on the whole company! Where is the corresponding? Do you not have phones or email? They said I was the 13th person? So your cool with wasting everyones day. Poor operating. Poor customer service. Needs new management! read more

Do not rent a unit here! They will over charge your card and refuse to give you a refund. As well as close your account with them before the full month you paid for us over! This is a rip off! I paid for a unit for July and August. The special was that I could get August for $1.00. They charged me full price in August then told me it would only be $1.00 in September. I never needed the unit for September and they won't refund me for this month. They have nothing in writing stating this and even when it shows I'm due a refund of $74.00 they refuse to give it to me. The manager is rude and kicked me out of the system before I could finish getting my things out of the unit. Then she threatened to charge me for the items left. This is worth zero stars! I want to warn everyone!! Please do not rent a storage unit from Stor Stuff Storage in San Marcos. The managers are two very nice older gentlemen but the owner is a scumbag. In May, my husband and I went in there and paid $320 on our storage unit. We had fallen a little behind during the month I had given birth to our daughter and had severe complications. Anyway, they worked with us waived all the late fees and even a couple months worth of payment and told us that $320 would save the unit from auction. So we went in paid on June 24th (it was the day I had a paycheck and was able to pay the $320) even paid for July in advance and told them that we would probably only need the unit for another month or two. Well, the following weekend my husband gets a call while at work saying that our unit accidentally got sold in their auction. EVERYTHING (minus furniture) of ours was in that unit. The worst was I had irreplaceable items in there from my older two kids (who were child abducted and still missing). The two managers were very apologetic but the owner never once contacted us asking what he could do about the replaceable items or apologize or anything. The two owners waited 3 days to even contact us. They gave us different stories about getting in contact with the buyer. Worse, they contacted us about a week later with a settlement offer. They told us they were able to retrieve some of our items (it was less than a quarter of what was in there originally and none of it was the things I cared most about except for a couple pictures from my older two kids) and asked if we would settle with $1500. It seemed like a slap in the face. We had just gone through a nightmare and we realize if we hadn't gotten behind in the first place this maybe wouldn't have happened but regardless we paid what they had told us to pay and even fronted one month in advance, but everything we owned, a 2 bedroom house of things including brand new kitchen items (we ended up moving shortly after buying all new things for our house) was in there and we now had to replace EVERYTHING upon moving again which we were getting ready to do (we actually move again in a week and have to replace it all). Anyway, we told them we wanted to consult with lawyers before accepting their offer. We consulted with them and we told the lawyers we really just wanted a fair settlement. We had asked for $3500. Well, after talking with lawyers, discussing our rights, going over what we wanted, ect., we decided that we would just accept their offer. We called to discuss that with them and the office managers decided to pretend they don't know who we are or what we want. We've been calling everyday about getting the offer made to us and they keep taking our number for the "owner" who NEVER calls us back and they refuse to honor the settlement offer they offered to us and agreed upon. They're a very unprofessional storage place. From the get-go they've told us about computer issues that the owner never wanted to fix. We just figured that we'd keep track of payments in case of a computer error not showing a payment or whatever. We never imagined in a million years that their "computer issues" would be the cause of our unit being wrongfully sold. The thing we don't understand is that for the year we've had the unit, why the owner never bothered to clean up the office, make sure all the equipment (such as computers) worked properly, and why they didn't have a better system for their auctions. The "owner" supposedly was aware of the issues with the storage's office yet he doesn't care enough to use the money he's making from the units for up keeping the place. So please just beware! I wouldn't wish this on anyone. read more
