this was my second time in this store and they seem to have a good selection of goods to choose from and everything looks nice and fresh.I ordered some cold cuts from their deli dept and they were pretty busy but the line moved pretty fast. the store is nice and clean and the people working there were helpful and friendly. only problem was it seemed to me that they should have had more registers open for the crowd they had. read more

Manager or associate do not know what to do . Especially the manager who was at the store on 01/07/25. They are lazy and did not make any effort to help me when my OTC card did not scan . I told them to scan it on my phone . I used my card in other stop and shop stores and everything was fine except for this West Babylon store. The manager should know what to do in order to help and solve any issues. Unfortunately it seems that some associates and managers are not doing their jobs honestly and not smart / lack of knowledge / patience to deal with technology issues in order to help me or any customer. read more

This stop and shop is not as good as the one in my recent reviews. This place feels washed up and old. The experience isn't the same as the one that is down the road from it by a few miles. This particular stop and shop is dislike more than others because no matter what time I go there, there are not more than one or two cashiers open at the time. The self checkout line frequently doesn't take cash and it is just a pain to wait online if you just have a few items. I try and go out of my way not to go to this store but have to due to where it is located at times. I would keep clear unless you live in the area; even then, remember there's another one not too far from this one. read more

I'm pretty equidistant from this stop & shop and the one in Amityville, but have more times than not stopped here for groceries. Today -- despite all the times my mom told me to WATCH the scanner as a kid -- I didn't. I was charged three times for a bag of four sweet potatoes, and then an additional $9 for something called Yuatia Red. Whatever that is, I'm quite positive that I did not purchase any of it, nor would I for $2.29/lb. My receipt says my cashier was Kathleen and instead of helping me bag my groceries while hubby swiped and typed his pin, Kathleen just stood there watching me. I guess she finally felt guilty because after my struggle-bagging (ok so maybe I don't have much practice) she finally packed a bag or two to speed up her line. Thanks a bunch, Kathleen, you're a doll. I feel partially guilty for not looking as Kathleen scanned but NO, This simply should NOT happen!! read more

The service is not that great they do have Western Union, however the cashiers here are in their own world. Having people wait in long lines while they chat up a storm with the customers. Visit Dates: Many, many, many Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays that I have had off to grocery shop here! I love this stop & shop. My one complaint is that they hardly ever have the regular arizona iced tea on the shelves so I usually have to go to pathmark to get that iced tea for my husband. I have seen this iced tea on the shelves maybe once or twice in all the times I've shopped here. But that's my only issue which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5. I love the selection of this store and I love that it's also a very big store. Another plus for me is the scanners that are available for you to scan your groceries as you go. It's really awesome for me to get on the line to pay and have everything already pre-scanned. I enjoy taking care of whatever I can myself though so that's why I like it. Sometimes if I could go to a restaurant and actually just give my order to the chef myself I think it would be awesome! I love that I can get many items here besides groceries. I usually end up picking up greeting cards here, sometimes vitamins or other pharmacy items too which saves me an extra trip to the pharmacy because I can do it all in one shot here. Sometimes I spend a little too much here on groceries because of the selection though. So far this is my favorite grocery store to shop in by my house! read more

This is a decent supermarket. The store is laid out well and is easy to navigate. There is a Starbucks inside the store and the carts have cup holders to hold your coffee which is a nice touch. Bakery items are usually fresh, and the cold cut counter staff are super friendly and efficient. They often have good deals on bottled water if that's your thing. What loses stars for me is the meat dept, where I often see "Manager Special" discounted meat which has turned a grey color and just doesn't look right. While I can understand that this is a valiant attempt to reduce waste, I personally would not let that fly if I was the manager. I also find that meats are priced rather high at this store compared to other area stores. For a better deal I suggest trying IGA or Giunta's for better deals on meats. Giuntas also has the best selection of produce I've ever seen in a supermarket. Another gripe I have is that they decided to move the bread to the last aisle which is also the refrigerated aisle. This causes all of the bread items to have very visible moisture in the packages. Especially in the summer. As soon as you get two or three aisles away, the bread is now soaked with water because of the humidity change since the aisle it's in now is so cold. Seems like a poorly thought out decision to me. I can't imagine I'm the only one noticing this problem. I shop here often though, as it is close by. Overall I am happy with the selection, quality, and prices on most items. There is a bottle return area, a Coinstar machine, and a couple of lotto machines as well. They also have Western Union at the customer service counter. read more

I just had the worst experience and response in stop in shop west babylon on Montauk Hwy. I was harassed by a crazed bread vendor that actually jumped in my face yelling obscenities. I immediately reported this to the store managers. Who took my name and number. My husband returned to the store demanding further action. The manager Ray would not give the name of the vendor or contact his supervisor. So Ray for being so unhelpful and unconcerned about the well being of your customer, I will file a police report and retain a lawyer. Shame on stop and shop for such poor customer service. read more

I've been frequenting this store for a couple of years. I liked the fact that it was bright, spacious, clean, and was overall a well-managed store. Lately, I've noticed it has gone downhill. The last straw was when I was charged regular price for two separate items on two separate trips within two weeks, when there were tags that clearly stated they were on sale. This means they forgot to take the old sale signs down from the previous week. I don't know if it was some directive behind the scenes, and I hope it's not as simple as that. Or it's incompetent, forgetful, or even honest workers who forgot to take them down. But this happens at many places, especially some CVS stores, and complaints have been filed because of it. I refuse to waste my time and hard-earned money, and I'll just assume it's just shenanigans. I won't look like a fool making the same mistake constantly. Zero stars is too high for this place. I was there earlier, placed products back on the shelf, and when i was leaving i was chased after by an employee who threatened to call the police on me, wouldn't let me leave the parking lot and embarrassed me in front of the people around me. A call to the manager was no help as they only had a part time night manager who said he had to get the other side of the story. i'm your customer, there is no side but mine. Don't bother using the deli kiosk to order cold cuts. They put your order last. Then they tell you they are working on it when you come back 45 minutes later. So then you waste another 15 minutes waiting for your order. The check out personnel can't make change for a $20.00 bill and don't even ask the in house bank because they won't do it unless you have an account. read more

I think some of the people who left a comment here are confusing this stop n shop with the one on 109. These reviews are for the one off Montauk Hwy. The biggest issue with this store is the lack of shopping carts. They have been better but there was a shortage for a while and soooo many people are to lazy to take the extra few steps and return the cart so your scouring the lot to find one. The man with the beard that works at the pharmacy is nasty. He will see you standing there waiting for him to acknowledge you and he won't. He will get to you when he is good and ready and when he gets to you there is no warm greeting or smile he's a miserable man. The bathroom at this store is DISGUSTING!!! I shopped here during my pregnancy and had to use the bathroom frequently and every time I did it was appalling. I always brought disinfectant wipes and tissues to clean it before using it. The other issue is the prices have gone up on EVERYTHING and I'm not understanding why. LOL butter went from $4.99 to $5.59 overnight. Their meat prices are astronomical and the quality of the meat sucks. The only thing I like about this store is their produce section and overall layout. I only come here for convenience. read more

I have been bringing my mother here for years now, and have really been disgusted lately with the quality of the store. The carts are NEVER brought back to the store by any employee, and the ones that are there by the store doors are either broken or wedged together. My mother is 84 and should not have to fight for a cart. I have seen other people getting disgusted with that situation. I made a complaint today to a young employee at the customer service desk and she had quite the attitude did not even care . So I told her I would make a formal complaint. Her reply was...ok. Also, the employees are always outside smoking or talking away inside. There is always crap left in the shoppers way. I've been going to stop and shop on route 109 for a few years now I like the fact that they always have good sales even if you don't have your savings card they always give you one from the register, but besides the good sales the cashiers are always very nice and a few days back I accidentally dropped my keys inside my trunk and my doors were locked!! This really nice boy, unfortunately I didn't get his name, went out oh his way to help me unlock my car with a wire hanger and after about 20 minutes he open my doors and I was able to get my keys out. Thank you sooooo much. Locksmith would of charged me a lot of money to do what he did for me. Again thank you. read more
