LOOOOONG insufferable lines. Both managers and cashiers are totally INDIFFERENT and couldn't care less. Inquiries about item availability were routinely shrugged off. Shelf-Loading staff would bark at customers to get out of their ways. Majority of checkout lines (both staffed AND self- serve) are closed even at the busiest time. read more

This is my second time here and I have to say I like it a lot better than my first visit. Let me tell you why (1) they do there baking right in the store. (2) all of the produce and meats are fresh. Most of the products I've tried have been excellent, with a few exceptions (their grits were awful, sliced cheeses have mold before the sell-by date, 2 different brands of coffee were undrinkable). My main complaint is that there is always a long line for check-out. I guess they save money by not hiring enough staff. Their bottle/can return machines rarely work & the cashier claims s/he can't give you back your deposit without the machine ticket. I've been to other branches where they have more staff. Don't know what's wrong with this location. However, the prices & quality are worth it if you can take the time to stand on the long check-out line. Waaay better than Aldi's! read more

Looks Great. What a nice market to shop. It's laid out so nicely and it's so easy to shop. It's clean and it's brand new well-stocked with friendly personnel. The prices are so good. Today was opening day and it was packed. Ok, I am updating this after the initial "newness" wore off. Yes, we were happy they opened. However, I left review based on initial looks and prices at the store. The quality just isn't there. The baked goods taste stale, even though they are freshly baked. I went back a second time to give them another shot with the same issue. They're just dry and stale tasting. I was under the impression it was a European style bakery, this is pretty lackluster. It's not what I am accustomed to. Next is the deli, not good it's not fresh seems to be a lower quality. I am a pasta aficionado, I make my own and I buy high quality Italian pasta always. I tried their Italian imported pasta, it was horrible! A few of the items we had such as the cookies and the frozen potatoes were fine so I'm leaving it at a three star because I'm sure some of the stuff is fine. But I won't likely shop there very often. I love this store. It's design is nice and makes it easy to shop. I love seeing what they have in the seasonal areas and what new imported goods they are carrying. The prices are also unbeatable. The only thing preventing me from leaving 5 is the empty shelves. You have to get there quick for sales & there are certain items that I LOVE but cannot always get when I visit. So I'm giving it 4 stars right now. It's newness and certainly differs from Best Market. So entering - I see some great deals on pre-packaged avocados, asparagus, salads and then off to the right there were many options for Lidl made guacamole, hummus, and so much more! One benefit is that there are many organic products to choose from at very reasonable prices! The sauce section is also another great benefit. There are many that are only found at Lidl... I like the hot sauce, different curry and salsas. There's a lot to choose from. You don't find the usual selections here. The produce was nicely organized and looked fresh with many options. Lots of pre-made salads, soups, and even sushi! It was late so I did see some bakery and deli items. Vacuum sealed seasoned/unseasoned meat and fish. So many great new products out! The return policy is great. So there's little risk in giving it a try! read more

The fruit and produce section is the first area you walk into, and it smelt like death. I went to the cashier since they do not have customer service there to check a gift card balance from a card I received and they are unable to do that. The website is outdated and also couldn't do that. So I picked up a few items then got back on line. Their prices aren't that great with a limited selection of things my children and I would eat. I didn't have the Lidl app, and the same cashier told me he couldn't give me any coupon codes unless I had the app. So I had to keep the people behind me waiting since there was only one register open as I downloaded the app. The yogurt under the sale sign was not on sale and they didn't have the yogurt in stock. When I was younger if it was under a sale sign, the sale was honored. This cashier simply didn't care. When the receipt printed it was also a dated printer and I barely saw my remaining balance. The prices at Stop and Shop are actually cheaper! I suggest going there for fresh produce and shrimp rings. Their shrimp rings were $3 more than Stop and Shop next door was charging. I've been to this location before, and it's never impressed me. The cheap diapers are the only reason they didn't get 1 star. read more

Visit Date: December 28, 2019 I came here after an AA meeting because I wanted to check it out and we needed a few things. I would say Lidl is a cross between Aldi and a regular supermarket. I wanted to buy so much there but just stuck with a few items I could carry in my hand and take out to my car without a wagon. From my purchases I would say the cheese is good, we haven't used the batteries yet, my hubs ate his egg whites and didn't complain about them and doesn't seem to have an issue with the light butter spread. I also bought the coffee pods but weren't all that impressed with them personally. I liked it here and would consider coming back again if I had the time. It's a little out of the way for me but the prices are great and I like that unlike Aldi they have regular brands for sale at cheaper prices as well as off brands. read more

Overall, it a good grocery store. They don't keep much stock so everything you see on the shelf is all they have that day. Sounds smart, but also don't be caught late at night hoping to find everything you want. I find the store similar to Aldi with its off brand products, good prices and random items you'd normally never see in a grocery. It's a little odd that right by the deli (which isn't even a deli counter at all...it's all precut deli meat) you can also find a play set for your child, clothes for your dog or an appliance. They almost sell too much of the random items for my liking. Way more than you'd ever find in an Aldi. The bakery looked gorgeous and was all self serve cabinets displaying yummy pastures, breads and treats! The beer selection is pretty slim so that's a bummer compared to the selection in the Best Market that used to be in this location. I appreciate the credit only self check out kiosks but the machine is so slow in scanning items and accepting your payment. This method is supposed to be fast yet it feels so slow! Not sure the price comparisons on everything they sell, but I would suggest follows the ads and sales and buying Lidl branded items as much as possible to make your dollar go farther. read more

They came out strong with great organic options years ago and now have fazed them out. I don't feed pesticide produce and poorly raised meat and poultry to my family. The last 3 times I had to walk out because I couldn't purchase anything. No one who works here knows if they will have organic foods again, when asked. Sad. read more

Not sure how I feel about this store in total. The floral area and the bakery seemed pretty great! But the randomness of having bras and underwear , tools and vacuums in the middle of the food sections is odd to me. We bought the All Purpose cleaner with bleach as it was cheap and when we checked out saw it was leaking. The cashier also warned us that those bottles tend to have issues with the spray top staying connected. We tried a new bottle and when i went to use it and sure enough the top just comes off when you try to spray it on so beware if you get this item. It also smelled stronger than my usual bleach cleaner YET didn't clean as well. read more

My local spot "used to be" another grocer however the ALDI family has expanded and took over the space. Well laid out, clean, tidy, helpful staff. Directly at the back of the store is the bakery and there are some deliciously fragrant aromas coming there... feel my thighs & waistline expanding with every inhalation. Organic section is awesome and kind of fun to see home goods, pajamas and car accessories in the center of the store. Definitely a store that caters to ALL your needs. Meats, cold cuts, a huge variety of cheeses and other dairy products. This store has everything from pet needs, bathroom essentials, feminine hygiene, make up, frozen eats from the sweet to the savory and lest we forget... beer and snacks. Lastly the prices cannot be beat! If you aren't enamored by labels and brand names (which they do carry) however your wallet is where you feel the savings. Overall, I think Lidl just gets an "it's ok". The store was immaculate, and the produce that they did have looked good. The fresh bakery area was a nice touch. But overall, this felt like a slightly nicer Aldi. There was a huge emphasis on pre-packaged foods. And while they had a lot of unique foods, which I thought was kind of cool, I'm a much stronger advocate of fresh produce, meats, etc. I think this could be a great market for people with different eating habits, but for me, Lidl just isn't the right fit. read more

I have been using this store for a long time and have always had a good experience. Until recently, when I was poisoned by expired juice. I did not immediately realize that the juice was spoiled because I drank it with medicine and expiration date was 01/22/2021. But later spent the day in the emergent room with very bad pain. Love it. Prices are unbeatable. Cold cuts maybe pre sliced but theyre GREAT and I Am an old school boars head girl. The meat is in cryovac packaging but I learned that besides whole foods (which is literally triple the price) Lidl meats can be traced back to the farm of origin. They also have organic grass fed meat at the best prices ever. The bakery items are fresh, awesome and unexpensive. The house brand items are awesome as well. Even the oreos were as good if not better then the name brand and oreos are sacred ;) Im sure Ill be here a few times a week especially with how much money I am saving w their app and coupons! read more

First off, I have to say that I am an Aldi shopper so I knew what I was getting into by going to Lidl. And I am also an ardent Best Market shopper so I had some misgivings about going to Lidl which "took over" one of my favorites stores for produce, bakery, variety of meats, fish department and more. I first experienced Lidl in Virginia Beach. But I was a visitor and not a resident and you never know about a thing until you live with it. That said, I was excited to try Lidl West Babylon. When I first went to the West Babylon store, I was taken back by the wide aisles and brightness of the store. They had sea scallops on sale for $6.99 (12 ounces) a good deal. The only reason why I got some was that they forgot to put a sign there so no one knew they were there. Thank goodness for that because once discovered, they went out of stock fast. Not a problem, but I was told every time I came back that they put them out every day. That was the biggest story that I have ever heard and one lie that continue to perpetuate. I have been there the first thing in the morning and still no stock on certain items. That being said, I began to see a pattern of oversights and untrue statements by the workers and practices that made me raise my eyebrows at such practices: I purchased chicken tenders which were on sale. It was a package of approximately 3 lbs. (2.98 exactly). I frequently weigh my meats and seal them in portions before I freeze them. On this occasion, I set up one pound packages, knowing that one would be slightly under. Well, the last package was short by about 3.5 ounces. I called Lidl and they apologized and sent me a $5 gift card. After spending more than $100, I received a 20% off coupon on frozen seafood for use at any time I wanted (up to three weeks). I saved this coupon for use when they had their frozen seafood specials. One day, during lunch hour, I went to Lidl and purchased White Castle frozen cheeseburgers. On the next visit, I looked for my coupon and saw it was not there. I called Lidl again to report this. They said I used it. I emphatically told them that I didn't. Upon investigation, they discovered that they used the coupon on the cheeseburger (I guess a type of fish) and gave me $0.78 in savings. They apologized and told me that they would send me a $10 gift card. I spent almost $100 on frozen seafood. So although they promised to send me $10, they still made out because I would have been due $20! Today, on a Wednesday, I went to Lidl at 7:15 AM. There were a lot of folks unpacking boxes. I wanted to get the sale items early before they sold out. Well, with all of the employees scrambling around, a number of the items I had circled in my circular were not out. Again, an excuse that they were expecting a truck with the items. I told one of the managers that I was getting disappointed in the fact that that was not the first time, that I had come for an advertised item that was not in stock. One of the workers ran out of the door and came back with the box of the item (boneless chicken thighs) and asked how many I wanted. I also was looking for calamari that they had advertised as well as jumbo shrimp. Again told that the item had not come in and was probably on the truck. So the clerk said, "I will call other stores to see if they have it." I said, "I am not driving 20 miles to save three dollars!" When I checked out, today, I saw that they never accepted my 10% off on meats (which was another coupon). I asked why and they could not answer. I felt it was another failed coupon issue. So they went into the cash register and gave me the difference. All in all, the employes of Lidl are courteous and try to be helpful but with all of their employees which appear to be five times that of Aldi, they can't seem to have it work seamlessly. Wrong priced items and out of stock or NOT stocked items. For me, Aldi is more efficient in its use of workers. Lidl has more employees, but they have no idea what is going on and appear to bump into each other out of sheer confusion. Today, I complained to the management of the issues I have had with Lidl and they apologized, but for me, they need to get their act together or they will definitely lose me as a customer. read more

Pro: Their bakery breads are excellent. My family greatly enjoyed the Ciabatta bread and subs my wife and I made with a Baguette killed the name brand sub place. Con: a "12 ounce" steam in bag of broccoli weighed 9.5 ounces after draining the water. I know there are some limits on liquid content in canned foods, but does anyone know if there are limits for these steam bagged vegetables? read more

Don't ever go here or any lidl. They are so full of junk in the middle of the store they can't carry elbow macaroni! I didn't go my husband did. Made my first visit late afternoon on Sunday 12/15. The building looks great inside and out. It's somewhat like Aldi, except with more "Name Brand" items. They have some "private label" foods which is acceptable if you're on a budget. No deli - doesn't bother me. Some employees were in the parking area directing traffic (Great idea). Very clean with Wide aisles on selling floor and checkout area. Friendly staff. Courteous service. Many managers on floor making sure shelves were restocked. They had "sample areas" - only downside is the customers who randomly dropped the sample containers on items (Customers need to be courteous too & not slobs) It's a business, help keep The NEW Place clean! read more

Quality vs Quantity a MAJOR issue--Popular name brand items in short supply- LIDL generic brands in heavy quantity seem to predominate selection; much prefer to select my own fresh cold cuts not settle for the pre-packaged varieties currently inventoried; fruits/vegetables in bags serve only to hide imperfections; LIDL should not try to be another Costco, Sams Club etc... stick to grocery and other consumables; suggest that LIDL Corporate focus more on upgrading/enhancing customer experience in Best Market locations rather than advancing this new 'LIDL' concept. read more
