I'm a bit disappointed with this new grocery store. I've grown up in West Babylon and this place used to be my family's primary grocery store: Waldbaums. That particular grocery store had so many of my childhood memories in it. It was then transformed into Best Market and although I didn't preferably love Best Market, it was still a decent place to go and had much of the things I was used to.
However, this new thing that has taken the place of Best Market, I don't like. Where is the Deli? Where is the fresh sliced cheese and daily prepared macaroni salad? Lidl sells much of their own brand when it comes to products and I can't say I love that. They have so much space, and yet when you walk in, you feel as if they aren't making the best use of the space as everything feels so spread out, but not in a good way.
In the middle of the store, they sell car floor mats, holiday lighting, and small tool kits, basically right next to the frozen section.
Is this a grocery store, or big lots? I don't understand the concept they are going with, and personally speaking, I am not a fan.
This store is trying to do too much, and be more than it needs to be. West Babylon doesn't need a pepboys/ waldbaums / k-mart hybrid store, it needs a grocery store, similar to that of waldbaums and / or best market that is clean, up to date, and is living up to the standards of the year 2020. All in all, this grocery store is not that. Frankly speaking, I don't know what it is. read more
