I love a supermarket that gives me a good deal and that's the name of the Aldi game. You may not find everything you are looking for her, especially if name brands in particular are your thing, but they do offer a lot of alternatives. Biggest gripe is that when it came to cleaning products, there wasn't too much choice to pick from and a lot of things they didn't even have. Biggest upside though to their competitors is produce selection and quality is definitely much better. Staff was very quick and helpful for everyone that showed right at opening on a Saturday morning. Plenty of parking around in the big lot right in front of the shopping complex. read more

This Aldi's has the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. The guy with his hair down to his shoulders is completely rude, arrogant and unprofessional. I've complained before and upon returning I see that nothing has changed. This makes a very big statement about Aldi's and their management and leadership. Shame on you if you can't teach your employees that part of their job is being polite, kind, and respectful, then get out of the service industry and do the public a favor. read more

I love coming to Aldi's, especially when I'm in a pinch. I love how inexpensive it is. Granted, it's not like stop and shop where there is a plethora of items, but I don't mind. Their food looks fresher to me. I think I got one container of strawberries where a few were going bad. Other than that I love it. I remember going there for the first time with my husband, and I think we spent $84ish. We had half a cart filled up. We were guessing it was going to be over $100. We were very surprised about it and said that we were coming back. I do have to stay it is small, but I really don't mind it. There's no music going on and it doesn't get that busy. I have gotten some items, like a foldable picnic basket, that I absolutely love. I took it out for the first time to go on my dad's boat, and his girlfriend commented on it saying how cute it was. Prices on many things are so low you'll think you've stepped back into the 80's. :-) Aldi's keeps prices low by sticking to the basics. Almost every product in the store is their own brand. But don't let that fool you into thinking that it will be generic quality clones. I have found that their fruits and vegetables are always super fresh. I love that they carry limited edition produce at certain times of the year. For instance, this past month, Cara Cara oranges were available which sell on a popular television shopping network for 6x the Aldi's price. So delicious too!! :-) Baked good are always fresh... White bread for 85-cents, a huge lattice crusted apple pie for only $5 bucks. Lots of baked goods available. Try the 7-Up cake. Delish!! The meat selection is not too vast, but they usually have decent prices and nice cuts of what they do carry. Bacon is usually cheaper than the average supermarket. The dairy is also very decent quality. I have tried their milk, cream cheese, sliced and brick cheese, as well as many of their packaged cold cuts. I would say that 85-90% of it all hit the quality and taste mark for me. The assortment of different trail mixes is quite extensive as well. I would say there are a dozen or so options at any given time and the prices are low. I usually get several different ones and then mix them into a large zip closure food storage bag when I get home. Makes for a healthy snack at arms distance whenever you need one. If you're in the area and looking to discover a new grocery shopping experience, definitely give Aldi a try. Bring a quarter to access a shopping cart. Don't worry, you get it back when you return the cart. That's another way they pass savings on to the customer. They don't have to pay someone to scour the parking lot all day for carts. That is just one of the ways they are able to pass extra savings along to the customers. I'm hooked. My only complaint is that there isn't an Aldi in Nassau County. Aldi is great if you're looking for basic groceries for cheap. The majority of their products are brands you've most likely never heard of mixed in with brands you have heard of. Either way, you'll score some really great deals. They have a ton of cereals, snacks, and frozen food items to choose from. Their poultry section is small, however, I got a 6 pound pack of chicken thighs for $4 so can't complain there! They also have a ton of random items scattered around that you would never expect to see in a grocery store, including a limited time section which this time of year is devoted to Easter & Passover. Plenty of checkout lines but the Saturday I went, only 3 were open. The cashiers will not pack your groceries for you. Plastic bags are 10 cents each. There is an area beyond the cashier lanes where you can pack your items inside a reusable bad or paper bags (plastic if you're willing to pay the price per bag). Staff is friendly. Plenty of carts (that you unlock with a quarter which you get back when you return the cart). They're hiring and have a big sign outside saying managers start at $25.50/hour, so if you know someone looking for a job there ya go. read more

I've been to this new Aldi a few times. Despite their limited selection and a few other disadvantages I am still hooked. The best thing about it! It's the CHEAPEST grocery store in the area. It's not far from me so even though it's an extra trip because now I have to visit two grocery stores for my Sunday shopping it's worth it to find whatever I can in the store that's on my list. Last week I got a bunch of Easter candy and half the items on my list for $65. You have to put a quarter in to use the shopping carts but once you return the cart you get your shopping cart back. I like this system because people will definitely put the carts back to retrieve their money and there's no carts around the parking lot to ding your car. They also don't have bags here which I approve of. I have my own tote bags in the car anyway and it's less waste on the environment. So on these points I think other grocery stores should do the same and be like Aldi with the shopping carts and the bags. There's a limited selection so if there's certain brands you like you won't find everything you need here and chances are you'll have to make another trip to a different grocery store for remaining items on your list. What they do have in store is very cheap so it is worth going to! The store only accepts cash, debit cards or EBT benefit cards. Since my bank charges us $1.50 per debit purchase I have to make sure I have cash on hand to shop here with. So despite some downsides this store is worth shopping in for the cheap factor. read more

So I decided to trek out of my way to find this location as I was told it would meet my frugal lifestyle expectations. We're the items reasonably priced absolutely they were. This store is not for the lazy shopper. Most frugal shoppers are energetic for a deal. So be prepared to back your groceries with a box or bag. Don't dare leave your shopping cart in the parking lot, you'll miss out on your 25 cent refund. Overall the store is clean. Plenty of space for two carts to travel in one aisle. Just don't look for too many name brand items. They offer organic products and gluten free. Give it a try if your in the area. read more

Alex the assistant manager gave me an attitude as well and refused to give me the associate name even though he failed to comply with policy of wearing a name tag. I try to write reviews that are positive so that a business gets credit for being a good place. I am sorry to write this negative review but Aldi and their business model is horrible regarding customer service. We all know the drill at the checkout about loading your groceries onto the belt and the perceived efficiency of the cashiers who have a contest every day about how quickly they process customers. However, I have witnessed total neglect when it comes to customers who need assistance at the check out. Namely, seniors who might be slow moving and those who might not fully speak or understand the English language. There is absolutely NO assistance provided. The cashier just sits there as a customer tries to figure things out as everyone else on line lingers until the customer figures it out. After my third experience seeing this I asked to see the store manager - who let me know that they were short staffed and she was running around doing things. I was extremely agitated and let her know that the Aldi business model is horrible. It does not accomodate people who do not zip along at the checkout. I think that the Aldi stores owe the community better customer service for those who need assistance. I would like to see them provide a separate checkout line for those who need assistance. I know this would not save Aldi operating costs but I don't think they always have the best prices nor do they have good products. I plan to write to Aldi's corporate offices as well. read more

If you are looking for a bargain on the same foods you buy at Pathmark, or Stop-in shop this is the place to be! There is a price to pay for being cheaper - have to remember to bring your own bags.. pay .25 cents to use a cart (you get it back when you bring the cart back) and there is a limited selection. Much better than the Bay Shore location. Bay Shore is a madhouse at times, this one not as busy, and they usually have the things I need as compared to bay shore. I might continue to come here even when the Deer Park Ave one opens, that will be crazy too. Also....56 cents for a dozen eggs....you can't beat that. read more

I've only recently become an Aldi shopper thanks to a food blogger/You Tuber who introduced me to the clean eating items available here. If you read ingredient lists, you can find clean and organic items at truly reasonable prices. I've learned that you must go first thing in the morning to get items that typically sell out fast such as organic milk. They get shipments every day, but once it's gone, it's gone. Small selection of organic produce but just enough to get me through the week with making school lunches. Four stars based on availability of items and aesthetics. Store is clean, but displays can be a turn-off to customers who expect an "upscale" experience. Don't let the non name-brand products fool you. They are anything but "cheap." Plan to spend a longer than average time there your first time, just to read ingredients and get a feel for the store. Once you know what you like to buy, shopping is a breeze. read more

Sorry, I have to edit this review. I don't know what happened to this store but the last few months the quality has plummeted. When I go there and kindly ask a person who is working when will they be putting out a certain item and she can't tear herself away from flirting with the man stocking meat to give a customer a decent reply you know a store is going through a rough patch. A real customer service person would go fetch the item not just say "they aren't out yet." and return to flirting. This store is wiped out of items many times and the people who stock will run you down with their carts or block the way so you can't shop. In the morning there is only one cashier on. read more

This brand new Aldi is finally open after many many months of construction. It's located inside the same shopping center with LA Fitness, RiteAid, and Subway. This is not Costco or Stop n' Shop folks - it's more like a convenience store with random brands you've never heard of and it's CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. I am in this store every other week. They have a variety of foods (even some European finds) that are very inexpensive yet still quality. Bringing my own bags and making sure I have a quarter in my wallet for cart is such a small inconvenience for such awesome savings on my snacks, cereals, produce, dairy and frozen food purchases. ALDI (Lindenhurst, NY) used to be good. For the past year they keep changing their store aisles around.... so confusing. Then they have reduced the cookie aisle to half the choices they used to have. Next - tea bags - what store doesn't stock (regular) tea bags ??? Can't find them anymore or the tea bag aisle is always empty of black tea. They have a major problem with stocking shelves in a timely manner. IF YOU SEE AND CAN COMPUTE THAT PEOPLE ARE BUYING ITEMS DOESN'T THAT GIVE YOU A DAILY PICTURE OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, REPLENISHED AND RESTOCKED ??? Apparently not, I sometimes see these items replaced 3-4 weeks later while the shelf stays empty. I haven't seen the tea bags in two months. Ridiculous. Many more items I cannot think of at this time but it seems to be a steady and real problem. I'll still shop for bread, milk, cream cheese and other dairy but otherwise the store now rots. I would guarantee they do not lack in Europe where they originated. read more

I shop here often and also at other Aldi's out of town when I travel. The quality of their products is top notch--don't be hesitant because of the "off-brand" label--all of their meats, frozen foods, dairy, etc are comparable to leading brands. Eggs are usually less than $1.00/dz--milk prices vary among the different locations but usually it's below $3 /gal. sometimes way below--amazing! I just wish they would bring back their Bremer frozen fried raviolis (reg and lobster--amazing- no one else makes these!)-and lasagna patties (without the sauce) although the version with the sauce is very ggod.. read more

I like the renovations at Aldi Lindenhurst. Isles are opened up and selection is improved. The lack of open cash registers continues to be a problem. Aldi is an unusual store, Although it has a somewhat limited selection its much cheaper than any other local store. They have good produce and a nice range of organic products. My family and I have been shopping at Aldi a little over a year now. They sell a lot of their own brand products, which I use all the time, and have yet to be disappointed!
