I'm so glad Long Island finally got a Wegmans. When they first opened I thought their prices were really high but then I notice the Hot Zone Prices was really good deals. When you walk into the store there is a sign of items and prices and they compare them to some of the other markets in the area which is always good to see. Another plus is that they are open till Midnight and it's close to home. A year later and I'm obsessed with this super market. It's very clean and the customer service is always amazing. My son loves coming here to watch the lobsters. The seafood department always comes out with a Wegmans hat to give him and let him touch a lobster. The deli department is always nice. I love the meats from the meat section and the butcher. I love the organic everything they have it's always fresh and reasonable. The Bakery department is my other favorite part of the store. I never tried any of their cooked food. Except the sushi station. No complaints there. I tried many of their store bands and so far so good, except the cheese. It doesn't melt for some reason. I never had any issues at any of the department. From ordering Groceries from the app to looking for coupons, the app is great at navigating it all. There are a few brands that Wegmans does not sell so sometimes I still have to branch out to another market. But for our main supermarket Wegmans is it. read more

For those that haven't been to Wegmans before, it's a more upscale supermarket that has a nice environment with a lot of prepared foods / baked goods. Wegmans has a special place in my heart as I went to college upstate where there weren't many good food options. I used to go with friends to get subs from Wegmans and they were always amazing. So I was pretty excited when I heard there would be an outpost of this place coming to LI. I was pleased to see the sub shop at Wegmans churning out subs as I remembered. I think Wegmans also uses freshly baked bread for their subs; I chose the 'white everything' bread. I went with a large 'Wegmans Assorted' sub that has roast beef, ham, and turkey ($16.49). You can ask for packets of their 'sub sauce' on the side for no extra cost, which I recommend. I ended up pairing my sub with a bottle of Mountain Dew ($2.99). Total cost with tax included was $20.15. I was pleased to see that this Wegmans has a really nice seating area with a bunch of different tables and good natural lighting. You can get condiments and utensils for free upon entry. I unwrapped my sub and dug in. The sub itself is quite big, so I'm glad they still give you a lot of sandwich for the large size (I asked for my sub to be cut in quarters). However, when I finally took a bite of the sub, I was extremely disappointed. The sub was nothing like I remembered. It didn't taste bad, it's more that the sub didn't taste like anything at all. It felt like none of the ingredients had any flavor to it. It was kind of disorienting. I did some research online and realized that this is due to the cold cuts being used. It seems that the Wegmans subs of my memories used freshly sliced cold cuts of better quality, while the sub I got at the LI location used pre-cut cold cuts that were way worse quality. This resulted in a very 'watery' feel to the bite of the sandwich. There wasn't much flavor or texture to it at all. After realizing this upon the first bite, it was sad that the rest of the sandwich felt like dead weight. I ate the rest of it for dinner though cause I didn't want to waste anything. So I left Wegmans very disappointed to say the least. I guess it's true that nothing good lasts forever but I'm hoping that Wegmans can turn this around at some point. read more

Just got a quick bite for dinner from the pre-made section at wegmans. I got the tuna poke bowl and it was very fresh and delicious. I ate in the cafe section, and there were plenty of booths available. It was self service, but we also got sandwiches, and the staff member working, was doing a good job when it came to managing the crowd and producing sandwiches. After a year of waiting and delayed opening in 2024, Wegmans is finally opened today. This is the first Long Island location. Congratulations and Welcome to Long Island. Even going in the evening, the parking lot is packed almost like Christmas season where there isn't a single empty spot. When you walk in, there is space to maneuver though definitely have some patience especially if you have a shopping cart since everyone else is checking out the supermarket as well. There are a lot of employees so you don't have to worry about trying to find someone to ask for question. I had an issue with my loyalty card, customer service fixed the issue once he understood the problem. I haven't figured out what makes this location unique since I only walked the prepared food, cookies/desserts/sweets, vegetables, fruits, seafood and meat section. Guessing it's the seafood since there are so many oyster options. I haven't walked the rest of the supermarket yet. The one thing I noticed was this location has a self-serve hot/cold beverage machines, no beverage bar. The machine serves coffee (various types), tea, and hot chocolate. In my opinion, it tastes better when a person makes the drink though that is me. There was a large alcoholic and non-alcoholic section as well as a huge cheese and assortment of meat from various countries including Spain. I was starving so I picked up sushi: tuna tartar and mexican: vegetarian quesadilla plus a dessert: cannolis! The bakery and dessert sections are dangerous since so many delicious options. Chocolate mini cannolis are a good sized treat. Hopefully the excitement will calm down in a few days and I can check out the store more. Wegmans is a BIG store and has arrived in One of Long Islands busiest mid Suffolk hubs - after all these years of mid western fame known as a super-sonic multi department grocer and eatery - Wegmans has finally come to Long Island. First day and Everybody's here. As the old Italians say at one of my favorite local bakeries - Where you been??! One visit and its clear they will hold people long past curiosity - because people were buying from all departments- Produce - fish- meat- pasta- bakery - pizza - sushi - salads to go Or made to order, coffee, candy, bread, cannolis. This is the work of a finely tuned consumer pleasing machine- hold on Lake Grove and Smithtown area folks - very tempting in here! Happily tried a variety of to go items and justified the fun shopping by adding some carrots and bananas- to my large to go family style pile of sushi - and full cheesecake and pizza slices so delicious looking had to get 3. ... and a variety of wings from the wings bar - the Buffalo wings looked spicy - not my thing but will be loved - chips etc Like I said you' e been warned - fun shopping in here. Crowds were in all areas - but vibe was courteous and polite - Lots of staff - they hire plenty of local people - take up huge space and bring an awesome variety of items - enough so that people will stop off when passing exit 59 on the LIE - just a few turns north and your there. read more

Second time here at Wegman's. I remember I was so impressed the first time we went into Wegman's upstate a few years back. This was just as much. It is huge. Extensive produce selection, well stocked shelves full of product through out the supermarket. Prices were moderate but we found some good deals. They also serve prepared foods and you can even have some dishes made to order. I think it is a cool supermarket. It is clean with friendly service. We will definitely stop by the next time we are out east. read more

Alright, I read the reviews before I came and the general consensus for the poor reviews is that the place is expensive. So is every other grocery store on Long Island. I lived in Buffalo and Rochester for years and so I know Wegmans well. One of the things I loved most about the Wegmans in Western, New York was the stellar customer service. From the people at the register, to the people stocking shelves, to the people behind the deli and meat counter, to the people making subs, everyone was professional, sweet, hygienic, polite, friendly, I can't say enough good things about the people they hire to work at Wegmans at the locations upstate. I definitely cannot say the same about this location. Another really good thing about Wegmans upstate is the produce quality. That is the same at this location. All of the produce that I came across on a Sunday evening looked great. You don't have to worry about digging around for unbruised this and that, it's all good. And there's a price to pay because of the convenience. It should all be good no matter what grocery store you go to, but we all know that's not the case. It is the case here. I stood on line at the Deli counter while four, yes four employees were chit chatting with each other behind the counter. I wasn't acknowledged, they saw me but continued their conversations. I just stood there and waited patiently. Finally when someone decided to help me she had her same gloves on that she had on while her hands were on her hips, that she used to clean items with. That to me is disgusting. You should not be using the same gloves to touch cleaning supplies that you're using to touch my food. They have Wegmans brand items and other brands too. Something I noticed this time around now that I am really into heath and wellness is that a lot of Wegmans brand products are filled with toxic garbage ingredients like additives and seed oils. Items you think would be healthy, like a Wegmans brand frozen bag of mushrooms contains Canola Oil. A bag of microwavable brown rice, second ingredient is Canola Oi. Not necessary at all. All Wegmans hummus loaded with Canola Oil. One of the WORST oils for your heart and overall health. Check your labels. This is not a health food store by any means. Yes, their prepared food section is pricey. That's because it's prepared food. Go anywhere to get hot food, you're going to pay a price. People saying, "IT'S SOOO EXPENSIVE." It's actually comparable to other stores with prepared food, if not more affordable. It's Whole Food prices pretty much. Certain regular items are more expensive than stores like stop and shop, for example a box of their Swiss miss hot chocolate was $4.49 and it's $2.49 at Stop and Shop. If you know your prices for the things you typically buy, you'll know what to get and what not to get here. I loaded up on their store brand black and kidney beans, they have a great low sodium marinara sauce, they have a pretty decent variety of non-alcoholic drinks like HI-YO and Sin Euphorics. They even sell non-alcoholic spirits, which I thought was awesome. Great selection of protein bars, even if they're all bad for you, they have every option nonetheless. I loved Wegmans upstate, I don't love this Wegmans. No reason to drive 30 minutes here, for me, personally. Customer service is lacking. EXPENSIVE! We decided to make the 40 minute drive out here to see what all the hype is about. Once you're inside you're thrown into the prepared foods area, which was packed! Desserts, pizza, sandwiches to order, sushi, you name it they have it prepared and ready to sit there and eat or taking it home with you. There is a cute self-checkout area with boots to sit, which is a nice touch. The rest of the store is like a typical supermarket but with insane pricing. Items I typically pay $5 for are about $8 here. To me, it's not worth the drive and the money pouring out of my wallet to come here just to overpay. Parking lot is huge but shared with other stores, including a gym, so it's packed. The staff is friendly, says hello and goodbye. But the prices. I just can't see past them! read more

This isn't my first time at Wegmans, I've been to other locations in Jersey and Upstate NY. After the movies on Friday, I had to prep for dinner. I wanted my wife to come home to a hot plate so I decided to try Wegmans before the rush hour. No such luck, There were so many people shopping, it was utter madness. And that's ok, I'm glad people are spending money in a Long Island business. I need to zip in and zap out. Wegmans is broken up into sections: A coffee bar, salad bar, pizza bar, sushi bar, bakery I could go on and on. Wegmans is laid out with the hot bars to the right and to the left are the aisles of a typical supermarket. Hopefully in 3 months when the hype dies down, I can return. Is there a sliced nova section like at Fairway? (Remember Fairway, sooo good) I decided on a stuffed pork loin with the directions on how to make it?? I went home and put the entire tray in the oven. A little over 30 minutes, dinner is now served. Wegmans is by far the largest supermarket on Long Island. When we first became Arizona exiles in 1990, we could not believe how bad the grocery stores were on Long Island . Over the years, we have had a series of upgrades, starting with Stop and Shop, then Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Stew Leonards. We didn't even need any more improvements but we got one anyway. I can confidently say that this is the best grocery store on Long Island. It is infused with the joy of food, with every aisle packed with treats for the eye and the nose. Just inside the door I saw a pack of crab cakes for $30, but once inside the produce area, prices were fairly normal. Anyway, they don't claim to be the cheapest - just the best. For my money, they have succeeded. Fortunately, they are 45 minutes from my house in Merrick, so it will be a few times a year for us, but I can't wait for the next visit. read more

Wow! Truly an overwhelming experience! But a good one! They have everything except smoothies! Only negative was that they had large blown up rats out front. I hadn't known that they were not unionized , so I'm not sure about their employee salaries and benefits. Would like to know. Wonderful Bakery, sushi, hot food section, even a vegetarian hot bar, which I appreciate. They have a nice sit down area if you want to buy food and eat it there. Pizza, sandwiches, poke bowls, salad bowls. Lots of prepared foods. And they have digital sales , so check that out before you go. ( like $3 off sushi). I would probably go mainly for prepared foods. Wegmans has a food court that is unbelievable. From fresh pizza to salad bowls, heroes to dessert. Once you refueled grab your shopping cart and enjoy the store. Fresh fish, meats, cheeses are waiting for you to enjoy. Also fresh flowers for you to bring home. Helpful staff on hand all over the store to make your shopping easier. What makes this different from other supermarkets is the large food court, so you can sit and relax while the others do the shopping. Big parking lot, handicapped accessible. First time visiting a Wegmans and finally made it out to their LI location. From first glance it's very impressive. It reminds me of the Publix supermarkets down south. There are a lot of Wegmans branded products throughout the store. We went on the holiday weekend and they had a few samples for customers to try some of what they offered. One employee also gave kids stickers if they didn't want a sample which is nice. There are many counters from ready to eat foods, sushi, sandwiches, deli, bakery and pizza. I also like that they had pre seasoned foods that are ready to cook and even oven ready meals for those days you want something quick, fast and easy clean up. Some items are pricey depending what you get and whether there is a sale or not. To get some of the sales it does require that you be part of their rewards card club. You can sign up online or at the customer service. Our first time around we got the pre marinaded oven ready garlic and herb shrimp skewers, banana pudding (as a recommendation from the employee I talked to) and some watermelon and strawberries that were on sale. The banana pudding was one of the pricey items at $10 a unit, but the guy was right that it was one of the best. Super fresh, moist, fluffy and not overly sweet- just right. I would grab that again. The self check out is easy, but to add your member card it's after you scan all the products you plan to purchase to get the savings. Definitely would be back in the future. read more

This store is amazing! I have a friend who works here, so I wanted to check it out. It's gorgeous! The ambience is fantastic! The place is huge, it's like a city in there lol. The service was great, my friend was there and he asked me if I wanted anything lol. He also figured out where the thing was I was looking for. The item location number on the website is a bit complicated, the first number has to do with front or back of the store and then the number.. something something.. I was worried about the prices, but I was surprised because the 3 dollar soaps were huge, like 16oz so I was like, for that price? That's great! I mainly went to find Drizzilicious, which was cheaper here than at Target/Shoprite and Stop & Shop. It was like 3.50 there and the other stores it was more. Color me impressed! Been there a handful of times, and it's been a pleasant shopping experience each time. Front checkout people have been nice, especially to our child (who also loves the in-store little train in the back and kid themed carts). Every prepared food item has been good, no complaints there either. Are the prices a little higher, probably (but definitely not everything -- cereal I get is cheaper there than Stop & Shop or ShopRite)--but it's a worthwhile trade-off for the better shopping experience and variety. The place is beautiful and clean. Customer service so far has been OUTSTANDING. Food is good and fresh. Some things a bit pricey and or "ok" deal, some things especially Wegmans brand can be great deal. I have gone here at least 4 times using order ahead of time, and all orders have been correct and delivered to car within 2-3 minutes. At first glance seems like a great idea, a nice big grocery store with a bit of everything unfortunately that's not the case here. The store is a pain to navigate being so large and some of the signage isn't as easy to see as others. Wegmans has a hard time focusing on anything In particular that makes it stand out. Prices across the board are higher than I expected and prepped meals are very hit or miss and most are too expensive to even bother with. Also an issue is the location even if I liked the store it's at least a 20-25 minute drive from my house maybe even longer with traffic. read more

Completely overpriced. Tastes like gas station food or rest stop food. Service is atrocious and layout is even worse. Has a sink and no soap? Had to tell the guy how to make my sandwich since he had no idea what the menu is, and it still took 25 minutes of waiting. Clearly the staff have no idea what's going on (heard an hour wait on chicken tenders since they needed to be "breaded" (which isn't even true) just for them to come out 5 minutes later) and the prices are insane for what the food really is. $8 for a tiny soup? I enjoy the variety of different foods in this Lake Grove location store, however, I have gone to this store after 5 pm, usually between 5 and 7 pm, and they are usually sold out of the milk and coffee creamers, also sold out of the beef chopped meats to make your own burgers and whatever. Very disappointing, why they fail to stock up for the after 5 pm customers is beyond me ! I do love their fresh breads such as the olive oil garlic loaf and pumpernickel fresh breads and rolls, offering them in half loaves if you don't think you can eat a whole one. Their fresh produce is a nice variety to choose from as well as their own brand name of dips and cheeses. I wanted this to be my "go to" new food store as I only live approx a mile away, but because they tend to be sold out of the dairy and fresh raw meats, I will be going back to my old Stop & Shop supermarket (located in Lake Ronkonkoma) for my grocery essentials, they are always well stocked up after 5 pm ! I find it hard to find what I am looking for in this Lake Grove location and find myself spinning around looking for a basic food item ! I get my work out in this store just searching for items ! The customers buy out the store like they are selling gold at low prices ! It's very crowded on a Sunday. They gotta keep the shelves stocked up for the after 5 pm customers, Wegmans ! I will say I do love their marinated vacuum packed Wegmans brand chicken cutlets and the price is pretty low for 2 large cutlets, could serve 2 to 4 people under $10, they have some good food and some of their prices are actually much lower than Stop & Shop such as the milk and coffee creamers, and then other prices are way too high for my budget, such as the brie cheese and blue cheese variety in the deli section and fresh raw meats. I have seen some old brown salami packaged, not very pleasant. I like the idea of the "grab n' go" half pound variety of cold cuts at the deli section, instead of having to buy a full pound. Too each his own. It's a very nice store, I will admit this, however if you need to run out for milk and coffee creamers after hours, I would suggest you go to your local 7/11 instead, even though the price is higher but at least they have some stocked up in their store ! If you are new to this store, check out the loud toy train that circles constantly on top of the ceiling in the dairy section, it is a fun novelty to add to this store. Holy cow! What a selection! If I lived nearby I would never have to cook at home again. So much prepared dishes to choose from. I got the salmon poke bowl for lunch and it was delicious. The sushi was fresh. I noticed the wegmans brand was much cheaper than the other brands. Most dishes were around $16 and you got a generous portion. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by and grab some dinner or lunch again. read more

I bought the ginger scallion salmon cakes and was looking forward to tasting them. They had so much red pepper flakes and black pepper in them that I couldn't even finish one! The peppers completely overshadowed any ginger flavor at all! This was so disappointing because the red pepper flakes were the last ingredient listed, so they should have used much less.
