Living in NYC we do have supermarkets but due to lack of space most of them are on the small side and feel cramped and claustrophobic as compared to those out in the suburbs. Stop & Shop does make me miss shopping in a real full sized supermarket. This is a huge store. They have everything here you can ask for! Big, bright, clean, organized. Full service deli. A ton of items on the shelves. A lot of checkout counters and even self checkout stations. Had no problem finding what I needed after help from the staff pointing me in the right direction. Parking lot is large with plenty of spots. It was not crowded at all when I was here in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Still, I would never live in the scary suburbs. Been there, done that. I'll stick with crazy crowded Fairway or Trader Joes in Manhattan!

Tickleberry cake bars. We were not thrilled with these. Maybe they were getting old? Tasted like wax coating on the outside.

I like this location. It wasn't too crowded, and had most of what I needed. They have the SCAN IT! scanners, so that's a plus.

Then the pharmacist ran a discount RX card I'd gotten from the Doctors office and it was only $10.

When you walk into the store there is a sign of items and prices and they compare them to some of the other markets in the area which is always good to see. Another plus is that they are open till Midnight and it's close to home. A year later and I'm obsessed with this super market. It's very clean and the customer service is always amazing. My son loves coming here to watch the lobsters. The seafood department always comes out with a Wegmans hat to give him and let him touch a lobster. The deli department is always nice. I love the meats from the meat section and the butcher. I love the organic everything they have it's always fresh and reasonable. The Bakery department is my other favorite part of the store. I never tried any of their cooked food. Except the sushi station. No complaints there. I tried many of their store bands and so far so good, except the cheese. It doesn't melt for some reason. I never had any issues at any of the department. From ordering Groceries from the app to looking for coupons, the app is great at navigating it all. There are a few brands that Wegmans does not sell so sometimes I still have to branch out to another market. But for our main supermarket Wegmans is it.

Wegmans has a special place in my heart as I went to college upstate where there weren't many good food options. I used to go with friends to get subs from Wegmans and they were always amazing. So I was pretty excited when I heard there would be an outpost of this place coming to LI. I was pleased to see the sub shop at Wegmans churning out subs as I remembered. I think Wegmans also uses freshly baked bread for their subs; I chose the 'white everything' bread. I went with a large 'Wegmans Assorted' sub that has roast beef, ham, and turkey ($16.49). You can ask for packets of their 'sub sauce' on the side for no extra cost, which I recommend. I ended up pairing my sub with a bottle of Mountain Dew ($2.99). Total cost with tax included was $20.15. I was pleased to see that this Wegmans has a really nice seating area with a bunch of different tables and good natural lighting. You can get condiments and utensils for free upon entry. I unwrapped my sub and dug in. The sub itself is quite big, so I'm glad they still give you a lot of sandwich for the large size (I asked for my sub to be cut in quarters). However, when I finally took a bite of the sub, I was extremely disappointed. The sub was nothing like I remembered. It didn't taste bad, it's more that the sub didn't taste like anything at all. It felt like none of the ingredients had any flavor to it. It was kind of disorienting. I did some research online and realized that this is due to the cold cuts being used. It seems that the Wegmans subs of my memories used freshly sliced cold cuts of better quality, while the sub I got at the LI location used pre-cut cold cuts that were way worse quality. This resulted in a very 'watery' feel to the bite of the sandwich. There wasn't much flavor or texture to it at all. After realizing this upon the first bite, it was sad that the rest of the sandwich felt like dead weight. I ate the rest of it for dinner though cause I didn't want to waste anything. So I left Wegmans very disappointed to say the least. I guess it's true that nothing good lasts forever but I'm hoping that Wegmans can turn this around at some point.

My wife and I needed to do a quick shop last night and decided to swing by the supermarket. The hype right now is at Wegmans so the store seems empty at 7pm. Walking in, we're greeted by a hostess. She explained the smart wagon, we're the cashier as we swipe the reader in the wagon. Do I get paid for this? Haha The shopping experience is interesting, lots of great sales but regular priced items are eye popping. No, I don't need $36 worth of detergent but I do need .75 cents on Nan bread. That's right, 3 quarters. I noticed the cheese selection was pretty cool but yogurt choices were not that large. The store is very large and clean. All of the shelves were well stocked. Listen, I think I'm a fan?? Every week we have to go to ShopRite because the digital coupons didnt work. Amazon Fresh had the tech down! After we were all rung up, we received a discount being a prime member. Still on the fence, so far nothing but a positive shopping experience to report for Amazon Fresh.

This is a great store with quality products where you can save money. Highly recommend. I wouldn't purchase their skin care, medical or cleaning supplies. Those seem to be overpriced. However, the premium quality comes with an equally premium price tag, a reality that has persisted, and perhaps even intensified, since its acquisition by Amazon. For the savvy shopper, there are still ways to navigate the costs. Keen attention to pricing, coupled with strategic use of Amazon Prime discounts and in-store sales, can help balance the ledger. Ultimately, the store's unique draw lies in its exclusive selection; there are certain specialty items you simply won't find anywhere else, making it a necessary stop for certain needs. Our family has found a practical rhythm: we always begin our shopping at the Trader Joe's across the street. After surveying their selection and prices, we then visit Whole Foods for those few, special items we can't get elsewhere. This approach makes the added effort, and expense, feel worthwhile. Despite the undeniable cost, shopping at the Lake Grove location remains a valuable way to support and enrich a healthy lifestyle, especially for those living on Long Island's East End.
