On a plus the store is well organized and usually clean.. We live in Trumbull and are equally close to this location and the Bridgeport store. Huge difference in price as this Stop & Shop is way more expensive. As an example, popsicles at Bridgeport are $6.99 for 18 and at Trumbull $7.29. It feels like the Bridgeport store has more variety in most categories. The deli has a nice selection of board head meats and cheeses. From our experience this store is easier to shop with less customers but it could be the times we were there idk. I didn't take any outside pics as it was dark. The parking at this store is easier with a decent amount of handicapped spaces. read more

CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES! I shop there regularly, and every time, I find at least one item where all the containers are expired.

This particular Stop & Shop is well run and clean. The deli, produce area and meats dept are always orderly and nicely organized. Produce, and other items are easy to find... I enjoy shopping here, a positive environment! read more

The container lids at the hot food bar are poorly made. They do *not* fit securely on the container tubs at all. No amount of pressing down is going to seal the lid for your food. You should either get some plastic bags from the nearby produce department to place the entire container in, or better yet, bring some oversized rubber bands with you before you go. Otherwise these cheaply made lids will fall off & your meal will wind up all over your cart, or your car. Also, can I get a ruling on that "Marty" thing that beeps & follows people around? Its only purpose seems to be always seems to be getting in the way of other shoppers. The store actually gave this oversized toy a "birthday" party a few years ago, complete with a cake. This is the local super market for Trumbull. PARKING - while there is a parking lot it tends to be crowded most times. More importantly the design is horrible as there is only one main egress to get out of the strip mall. AMBIANCE - the store is always pretty clean and the aisles are wide enough for 2 way traffic. VARIETY - pretty good when it comes to most things even Organic. However, if you are looking for ethnic items like Spanish or Latin or Island choices you'll have to go to Bridgeport. VEGETABLES - a high note because turn over is high so things are very fresh. PRICES - moderate at best. They have the sales etc. but lots of loss leaders. Also I've noticed big price differences between Stop & Shop locations for similar items. read more

Gotta update..they provided us with a fully cooked turkey that was tender as butter and absolutely delicious. My dad says it's the best turkey he's ever had. We actually ate it the day AFTER Thanksgiving (today) and all I can say is wow. Stop-N-Shop really rocked with the food. This is the first time we have ever got a turkey from them but judging by the taste it will not be the last. I still wish they would hire more people and get rid of the automated check outs, (I wish every grocery store with automated check outs would follow suite and go back to the old ways) but I have to give credit where credit is due and the fact is the food was terrific. read more

When you're pretty much the only game in town, I suppose you don't have to try harder. The staffing in this store has steadily worsened over the years, The majority of people at the service desk have forgotten the meaning of the word "courtesy". Ask someone for the location of specific items and they give you the wrong aisle and act as if you're bothering them for asking. Except for Louis in the deli, you get slow, stop and reverse service with attitude. This is the place you want to shop if you like mediocrity at its best. read more

I have just about had it. Earlier this week I had to return packaged salad for being slimy, and tonight's chicken dinner is ruined as the 3 lbs of drumsticks I just cooked smell fishy. Both items were well within their sell by dates. And forget their packaged tomatoes-you stand a very good chance of the ones on the bottom being moldy. Go anywhere else for fresh food. read more

While the produce department has an excellent selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, the meat department is below average. They do not scrutinize condition of the meat, but spend more time displaying neatly in the cooler. I watched as an employee was straightening packages of steak that had turned brown and placed neatly with the others rather than removing it from the sales shelf. There were also several packages of sausage that I decided to stay clear of for the same reason --- the meat was brown in color --- the dates were nearing the 7 day mark. read more

Produce is pretty horrible at times. The meat selection has gone way downhill. A little birdie told me (before moving on ) to watch out because those in the meat department were told to put out more cuts of meat with fat & worse cuts. And boooy did it end up being true. They hide the "not so good cuts" under the better looking cuts in a one package. Their double vacuum sealed Filets..... the worse cut is hid behind the price tag sticker. They never ever have enough lanes open. It's a lot of self checkout - which is great unless you have a cart full of groceries.I've been going to this stop & shop for almost 20 years and oh how I've watched it really go downhill. First, Trumbull is a wonderful middle class city with wonderful people. So this is the market my review should be contextualized within. If this was located in midtown Manhattan, it would have more than 5 stars. If it was in Greenwich, it would not exist. That being said, my reaction and the reaction of anyone else that lives in Trumbull that I've talked to is such: "Eh.... it's closer... I guess..." It's fine. Just, fine. But it's confusing, and the produce isn't great. We go out of our way to shop at Big Y at Hawley Lane. I only go here if I'm in a rush or I'm being lazy. If it had Shoprite prices, sure, 3.5 stars. Trumbull has one market and unfortunately this is it. I don't get it, the Shelton Stop and Shop is bigger and better stocked and even seems cleaner. This Store opens late and closes early. Produce is stocked on Monday night so don't go looking for kale on Friday. In the past few months I have gone there for specific items and they were out of stock. No mineral oil, nondairy cream cheese, turkey breast, bok choy, all missing at some point. today there was no grass fed beef. Trumbull deserves better. read more

I just had to return yet ANOTHER package of rotten meat to this store. This time it was a pork shoulder, not expired, and it stunk like crazy. So, it's not enough to check the expiration dates, you can't trust them here anyway. Their pre-sliced deli meat is bad 1/2 the time-so make sure you get freshly sliced from the deli. The store could be packed, but there'll be 1 cashier on! Always lines! It's the only game in town unfortunately, but when time allows, I go to Shop Rite in Shelton where everything is fresh and no matter how crowded the store is, you never need to wait in line because all of the cash registers are open. read more

Asked an associate( possible manager) for ten paper bags she's was like I can give you five she had a stack over 30 in front of her and I said six she said I can give you five. While I love the prices at this store, service is lacking sometimes especially from management. Ordered a "Thanksgiving dinner" from the Stop and Shop Deli in Trumbull to bring to our elderly parents. Ordered two weeks before Thanksgiving to make sure it would be ready. We drove over from NYS on Thanksgiving morning, went to pick up our order and were told, "its not here".....so we asked for the deli lady to check again and she started asking stupid questions like who did you talk to etc....what did that matter, even if we had a name, there was still no dinner available. We asked what they were going to do and the answer was NOTHING....told us to find a Boston Chicken Market....REALLY......never again will we go there read more

This supermarket is not huge but it does the job. They are stocked with all the necessities a person may need . They also house a bank and a Dunkin Donuts as well as a pharmacy. The staff are friendly read more

Trumbull Stop and Shop is the worst grocery store around- I live in Trumbull so there is not much choice close to my house. But I will make the trip to Monroe Big Y or the Stop and Shop there from now on. I went in yesterday for a few items- ended up with about 20- went to the cash register to find the lines really long and only 2 very slow cashiers. The cashier at the 12 items or less register is just standing there waiting to take a person with 12 items or less. No one was coming- so after several minutes of not moving in my line at all, I asked her if I could go through hers. She wanted to know how many items I had- so I said, never mind I have more than 12. Several minutes go by and I still haven't moved and the cashier in the 12 items or less is still standing there doing nothing!!! I went to the manager and told her I thought it was ridiculous!! I go back to my cart in line, and now she comes over to me and says I made her feel guilty so come to her register. I said " Well God forbid I should make you feel guilty and have to work- don't worry I'll wait. Finally the manager came out and opened a register and I went through hers. But still waited a long time as several people went ahead. Just not enough help in that store. I hate to complain but I never have a good experience. Monroe Stop and Shop is so much better- worth the few extra minutes to get there from now on!!! read more
