Few spaces in the front of the building but a huge lot in the back. Busy store but very large for a Trader Joe's and well stocked, clean, and easily navigable aisles. Despite the interior being crowded with customers, the cashiers were aplenty and moved the lines quickly and efficiently, which is well appreciated! read more

Great products like every other Trader Joe's. What separates this location from the others is the way they treat customer's with legitimate service animals. I advise "Captains" to tread lightly before they get their balls sued off. read more

I've always liked this Trader Joe's. It's convenient and the employees have always been so kind and helpful. For some reason today I was treated rudely by a cashier - the problem seemed to be that I didn't bring my own bags and then pack my own groceries. She threw everything frustratingly into one double bag which was overflowing and when she put it back into my cart one of the handles broke as it was so heavy. She did not make eye contact with me and when I said "thank you so much" and smiled at her she grudgingly said "yeah you're welcome". I don't understand what I did wrong here, but I thought packing groceries was part of the checkout process, is this no longer the case? Either way - the remaining handle on my bag broke and my groceries spilled when I went to put them in my car. Hoping for a better experience next time. read more

Perfect sized little TJ's not far from the Merritt Parkway. We were coming from a friend's house nearby and heading to no man's land where no TJ's exist -- thankfully Google maps showed us there were 3 TJ's in the vicinity. It was only 730 so we dropped by to get a bunch of vegan goodies for my friend who is vegan. We found a parking space right by the door and were in and out of there is about 15 min (a record for me in a TJ's!) We got fresh flowers in a short bunch for only $3.99 along with the very impressive vegan banana nut loaf. They didn't have the vegan gingerbread loaf at this location so I'll have to try that another time. They did have the delicious vegan caramelized onion dip and tzatziki dips and truffle potato chips that were crowd pleasers! Lastly the vegan Mac was a hit! I'm not vegan but could easily be suaded with all of the great options TJ has to offer! The folks working here were all very friendly and helpful. I'm surprised this location was not crazy busy but perhaps it's because there are more store locations in this area. read more

I showed up early this morning to purchase flowers for my sister's bridal shower. The staff was restocking the current selection. One of the employees noticed that I had a bunch of pictures of flowers. I was looking for something in particular she stopped restocking and came over to me to see if she could help. Less than five minutes later, she came out of the back with tons of flowers and greenery that I was looking for. I thought that was so kind that she was able to get me literally everything on my list. Secondly, the prices are very reasonable. I probably got thousands of dollars worth of flowers for $100. We were able to put together some beautiful arrangements and the shower will be a success. Thank you Westport crew- you are all amazing. read more

Food poisoning . The fridge right when you walk in to the right ; that holds their grilled chicken / balsamic chicken or chipotle chicken goes up and down in temperature because of the door in the summer and the heat blowing in throwing off the thermostat for the fridge. When cooked meat goes up and down in temperature of a course of days bacteria can grow and that's what happened to me. Let's just say I didn't leave the bathroom for almost a week and the chicken was rancid . Ate it thinking the smell was of something organic, should of known just meant BAD read more

I have always disliked this store due to the layout and the parking lot but the real reason hit me while I was shopping at the Darien store over the weekend. The majority of the employees are rude and not helpful. When I ask a question, I get a short and usually unhelpful answer, a scowl, or a made up answer. I am done with this location. read more

The staff here are super friendly and helpful. On occasion they have not carried certain items I get regularly like nutritional yeast or whole kernel popcorn. Other than that I've always had a good experience. I think I get a bunch of flowers during every weekly visit too and they last forever! read more

What a damn shame. Been going for many years to the Westport store and loving it, telling friends how great it is. In recent weeks, employees aren't required to wear masks. These are people who are inside up close with unmasked customers. That means each employee is way more likely to pass the virus, acting as a vector between all the customers. That's bad and stupid and shows a blatant disregard for their customers. But if that's not bad enough, this is what happened today: One of their unmasked employees coughed or it might have been a particularly powerful sneeze, about 2-3 feet away from me!! In an instant, the way covid aerosols work, that inevitably passed some Omicron onto me and others. I'm vaccinated, and wearing a mask, but I had the crappy J&J, which many people around here did. No booster yet because of another medical situation. This is how it is for lots of customers, maybe not a perfect fit with their mask, and no booster yet. But having an EMPLOYEE interacting with people of all kinds all day, is like knowingly passing the virus and keeping this damn pandemic going. That one careless employee is actually not the problem, management is. I called, the response was just CDC guidelines nonsense. An unmasked employee, face to face with many unmasked customers, is damn near guaranteed to be a vector. I used to think trader Joe's cared about their customers. Clearly that has changed. read more

A good spot to grab some pantry and freezer basics. Personally, I usually buy granola, dried/frozen fruit, coconut water, tortilla chips, etc here. Maybe some cheese as well. But, not a place to get fresh meat & seafood. That usually calls for a trip to Stew's. Regardless of that, most of the staff members here are friendly and efficient. read more

Usually a good experience but a TOTAL bomb today. Most of the staff is great, a few have even become friends, but had a manager that needs help with customer relations. Should go back to general business 101. Doubtful he would pass the course, with the way he didn't want to hear a customer, who wanted to voice an opinion privately. read more

To the dingbat lady in the black Escalade the size of a tractor trailer who waited FIVE minutes blocking up the entrance just so she could wait for the space closest to the store (and the Post Rd..you know lady it's a major road with 4 freaking busy lanes) to free up when there were TWENTY+ free spaces a matter of feet away. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. You almost caused major accidents, you backed up traffic on the Post Road and didn't move even though I was blaring my (overused in Westport) horn at you. At this point TJ's, you really need to put a sign up so these SELFISH drivers might get a clue. But then again, they are so selfish they really don't care. What is it? 'Oh no, I can't walk more than 3 feet with precious Muffy and Buffy"? So I finally discovered a back entrance and exit to this shopping center lot. Use that. I love TJ's and all but not worth getting T-boned or rear-ended pulling in to the main lot. Karma to the Escalade lady. Karma. Oh yeah, it's almost the new year. New me. Namaste. read more

I love Trader Joe's! I really enjoy the shopping experience, without the extra costs that Stew Leonard's has in store. Unfortunately TJ's is not a "one stop shop", as I will typically still need to pick up my meats and cold cuts elsewhere. Oh well, if that wasn't the case, i'd probably do everything in one place. i need this store to be just a little bit bigger! The last time we went we got awesome tofurkey sausage with basil and sun dried tomatoes ($3!) which I really really enjoyed! Much better deals and higher quality than you would find at a standard Stop & Shop or Shop Rite. read more

Let me begin by saying that I have always been a fan of Trader Joe's. The quality and prices are usually great. It was my go-to market when I lived in Vegas. When I moved to Westport nearly 10 years ago I was thrilled to see one so conveniently located. I was sorely disappointed. The store is in a word, terrible. The selection is mediocre. Every time I have gone in hoping to see a radical change it hasn't happened. It's depressing to even go into the store... I am continually amazed when I see how many people shop there-- they either haven't been to a proper Trader Joe's or they like markets with minimal to no selection and drab, depressing surroundings. Fresh Market down the street is by far a much better alternative and comparably priced. read more

for a TJs it is pretty average, but it is busy and stuff seems to fly off the shelves here. It isnt a large store and the setup is a bit strange, but the few times i have gone in they have had the things i was looking for. parking lot is pretty horrible, but that is mostly due to the people parking here not the actual lot. Sometimes, I think I am a strange person for not being completely, head over heals in love with Trader Joe's. Is there a photograph of a studly, sculpted male with broad shoulders and a rock hard six pack that I haven't found yet in this store that most of my friends rave about? If there is, please, for the love of god, let me in on the secret!!! Don't get me wrong, I do like Trader Joe's quite a bit, despite its borderline claustrophobic feel. It's great for a party because they have unique frozen appetizers that taste great - like the Trader Ming Gyoza and Gyoza dipping sauce. And, they do have a great selection of cheeses, nuts, chips and healthier junk food items. Tuscan white bean dip and peanut butter filled pretzels are my favorites... of course, not together. The prices seem reasonable. But, I could never shop here for a week's worth of groceries, mainly because the produce selection isn't fantastic. Give me my perfect world of free reign daily grocery shopping excursions, and I would definitely add Trader Joe's in, but it's just not the perfect grocery store for me. read more

Once again a wonderful trader joes experience. With two young kids it's very hard to go grocery shopping. By trader joes always makes it easy. Friendly service and going the extra mile - rare in today's shopping experience. Today I was helped by Trudi - so friendly! She offered my daughter stickers and answered any questions I asked - even thought there was a line! You never feel like your are a problem here - they are always efficient and helpful. Tibi (I may have gotten the name wrong) then helped me to the care and loaded my groceries for me! Not only is the quality of food better here with a lower price point than I've seen anywhere else, the service is also incredible. Trifecta! Thanks again TJs! read more

Trader Joe's in Westport is such a fun store to shop in, especially if you're someone who likes to see what's new or different or if you like good deals and great food! Once you walk through the door you are greeted by a huge display of beautiful, fresh flowers! It's almost impossible not to pick up a bouquet to bring home or buy for someone you love. There are so many fresh & healthy prepared foods in the refrigerated section, such as sushi, salads, and boxed meals. There's an assortment of hummus, cheeses and dips, as well as cured meats. The produce is colorful and fresh. There's a tasting station where you can sample certain foods the staff puts out for you to try. Speaking of staff, everyone in this store is friendly and helpful. The people who stock the shelves say hello, cashiers are friendly, and the person outside the store gave me a cart before I walked in. One of my favorite things about Trader Joe's is the frozen food section. There's an array of delicious ethnic foods, vegetables, appetizers, seafood, pies, ice cream, pasta, rice dishes and a lot more. Perfect items to stock up in when you're pressed for time to cook. I love that Trader Joe's embraces the seasons! During fall there was pumpkin everything! You can find pumpkin tortilla chips, pumpkin salsa, pumpkin popcorn--all kinds of items that you wouldn't think can have pumpkin as an ingredient! And now the holiday season is beginning, so next time I go I can't wait to see what items I'll find then. read more

The folks at Trader Joe's are a breed apart from your average, sullen, uncaring supermarket worker. When I think about TJ's I think about a smiling, friendly face who is always there to help me with whatever I need, while at the local Stop & Shop, that MadTV sketch on Bon Qui Qui comes to mind. ("Sa-kurity!") The most magical part of TJ's is the bell to call their friends to come and help if the lines are getting too long. At the other place, the line just keeps getting longer and no one stops to help, lookin' at you like the long lines are your problem so deal with it. Every company in America could take a page from TJ's operating manual. They rock. read more

Trader Joe's is as excellent in Westport as it is anywhere else I have shopped. The staff are, of course, friendly, and the selection is what you would expect. Shopping just after peak times (such as 8pm on Friday) can mean the shelves are a barren of some of the more popular items. It is a shame that CT laws prevent TJ's from selling its own beer though. read more

This is a very good Trader Joe's location. It is right off the Post Road close to downtown Westport, CT. I recently stopped here late on a Friday at 8:40pm and they were running low on stock but staff were working hard to replenish the shelves. They have an extensive flower section and a good selection of fresh baked breads as well as the typical great frozen food items TJ's is renowned for. read more

I love shopping here. Their choices are of course limited and they are big on their own brand. The employees seem to LOVE working here as opposed to Whole Foods where employees treat it like a "job" and many of them (not all of course) don't seem to care. So for a good feeling when purchasing food I choose Trader Joe's!!! read more
