Not sure how long this place has been around but it appears to be a hidden gem with very few Yelp reviews. I am happy to give them a 5 star review with the quality of the service and especially the food! It's a typical meat store with some of their own packaged sausages and ground meats but they make a mean sandwich. They have about 5-6 sandwiches to choose from. It's also more of a grab and go place, they have a few picnic tables in front to eat at for warmer weather. My wife and I split 2 subs. We had the roast beef and the turkey. Both were very enjoyable but the turkey stood out a little more for me. It was pomegranate glazed turkey breast with baby arugula molasses and a spicy feta dip that packed a punch full of flavor to complete the sub. The roast beef had a horseradish tzatziki and olive oil with their pasture raised beef, everything was really fresh. I could not leave out the seeded bun in this review, soooo good, couldn't be any more seeds on this wedge in a good way, the bread is outstanding. Both of these subs were only $12.99, amazing price compared to other sandwich shops, the pictures don't do the sandwich justice, was incredible, will be back!!

Pro tip for anyone trying to avoid the absolute chaos of the main lot: pull in using the George Ave entrance and park over there. It's a total game-changer for getting in and out fast. Most people know this place because it was on Ripley's Believe it or Not! back in the day for being the world's largest dairy store, but it's honestly just an institution. Right when you walk in, you see that huge stone tablet with their customer service rules--basically saying the customer is always right, and if they're wrong, re-read rule number one. Supposedly the founder, Stew Sr., put it up after arguing with a lady over some sour eggnog decades ago until his wife checked him. It definitely stuck, because in two decades of shopping here, I have literally never had a bad customer experience. The staff is always so solid. They have everything--a great bakery (the Apple Cider Donuts are legendary), a massive seafood section with fresh lobster rolls daily, a killer meat department where I usually grab lamb steaks, and a seasonal garden center and "Little Farm" with goats and ducks that the kids love. They even have a food truck outside now. But if I'm being completely real? Half the time I roll up here, I am solely there for one thing: the hot bar. They have the absolute best wings around, specifically the Spicy Italian ones. I will literally drive over just to grab a container of those wings for lunch. A few quick heads-up things: download their app before you go because the loyalty program rewards actually add up pretty quick, and definitely remember to bring your own bags. Oh, and grab a soft serve on your way out. Essential Norwalk experience.

I love this location and my daughter was fortunate enough to visit our family for the holidays. I'm so jealous. My cousin saw her staring at the metal mug and purchased it for. That's family for you. I really miss the unusual vibes I get from Stew Leonard's atmosphere. I remember visiting as a teenager when I came to Connecticut for the summers. I'm highly recommending!

** Bait & Switch Pricing - Greedy out of touch owner **…read more Stopped in with my two teenage daughters for a quick snack after school. One ordered a juice, one ordered a smoothie. After taking the order, the staff said they couldn't make the juice. Fine; we agreed to one smoothie split into two cups. Instead, they overfilled two cups. At the register, the owner tried to charge me for two smoothies (nearly $12 each). I explained we only ordered one smoothie to be divided. He looked at the cups and said they were full, so I had to pay for two. That's not how ordering works. If he had half a clue, he would've investigated further instead of immediately trying to squeeze the customer. He didn't. He then took one smoothie away from my daughter, said he'd divide the other, went into the back, came out with an empty cup, handed it to me, and told me to divide it myself. After the bait-and-switch and then adding insult to injury, I finally broke down and called him an M.F.; though frankly, that's too generous he is really just a low-life POS. He responded by calling me a cheapskate and telling me to get out (in front of my kids). For the record, both daughters also bought other items in this already overpriced store. This wasn't about money. It was about refusing to be taken advantage of. Maybe this kind of conduct flies somewhere wherever he is from, but it's not how business is done in the U.S. or in Westport. And last I checked, the basic rule still applies: the customer is always right, especially when the facts are this clear. Plenty of better options nearby (GG & Joes has better smoothies!). We won't be back.
