Price Rite is my primary go-to store for my regular grocery shopping. The Main St. location is…read morecleaner and faster than the Boston Ave. location. The prices are usually lower than any other grocery chain in the area. They have a good selection of products, though not nearly as many as a larger grocery chain. They carry their own brand products and I have found them as good as any name brand but at a much better price. They also carry Shoprite brand products as they are owned by the same parent company. As other reviewers have noted, they do not give bags for free. You can either bring your own, or they will sell you a fairly hefty, quite large and very reusable plastic bag for a dime. The produce prices are the best around, but you have to sort through some of the products to find the ones that are not over-ripe or less than acceptable. But the savings are well worth it. The store has an in house bakery and they make great stuff. The meats are very reasonably priced and I have never had an issue with freshness. But you should check expiration dates because you may find some either at the date, just before, or, on occasion, beyond the best by date. I have not found this an issue in their dairy section. The store has no deli, but they do sell a limited selection of pre-packed deli meats and cheeses under the Shoprite brand. The store sometimes gets backed up at check out if they are crowded and they fail to open enough registers, but the delay is not that long. They also have several self-check-out lanes if you have just a few items. If you don't mind bagging your own items, taking the time to sort through produce, checking expiration dates and having a selection of products less extensive than larger stores, this store will meet your needs and save you a good chunk of change.

If you're looking for a supermarket that won't break the bank, this is def the place! Every time I…read morewalk in, the aisles are fully stocked, making it easy to find everything I need w/o hunting around & visually appealing. The prices are consistently affordable which makes grocery shopping a little less stressful. From fresh produce to pantry staples, they seem to have it all, & I've never left feeling like I overpaid. The store feels well-organized so you can grab what you need. I love that there's always a good selection of everything(no more disappointing empty shelves)! Def my go to spot for saving money w/o sacrificing variety or quality. On this visit the cashier was super cool & friendly! There is also self checkout but sometimes scanning the fruit & veggies can be tricky. I always like to go to a cashier b/c it's easy breezy(they're way faster than me) & I also like to interact w/ ppl.

Yuck - it is so dark and depressing inside. For that alone I would want to give it very little…read morestars. The star rating is raised due to the friendly, amenable and helpful staff. And then gets raised even higher for offering a nice selection of organic berries. What delighted me the most, however, was finding two whole aisles of foods I normally buy at Whole Foods (which is now on my sour puss list due to the Amazon takeover and Big Brother tracking implemented) being available at this specific location. Super cool boutique brands like the paleo keto muffins I like - Mike's - a good selection of non dairy frozen ice cream, and other natural goodies (as opposed to the hundred million aisles of non-natural GMO food the masses eat, right?) Stop & Shop - you were slow to get on the natural and health food wave but at least you are doing it now, so kudos there. This location had a robot type thing that alerts the store to spills. One of the employees said to me he didn't understand why they'd have a robot do it and not a person. I was silently thinking because a person would be texting and more concerned with likes on Facebook or Tinder than doing their physical job, so I don't necessarily have a problem with the robot until people start behaving properly.

We live in Trumbull but primarily shop this location as much better pricing on most items. An…read moreexample is their popsicles are $6.99 for 18 and Trumbull's are $7.29. Better meat prices too. We were there this past weekend and the store was busy but easy to navigate. They often have folks outside selling and the Girl Scouts were here on this visit. Parking can be tricky and adding a few more handicapped parking spaces would really make a difference for the mobility challenged. We usually have good and friendly service combined with fair pricing makes this busy store worth a visit.
