We live in Trumbull but primarily shop this location as much better pricing on most items. An example is their popsicles are $6.99 for 18 and Trumbull's are $7.29. Better meat prices too. We were there this past weekend and the store was busy but easy to navigate. They often have folks outside selling and the Girl Scouts were here on this visit. Parking can be tricky and adding a few more handicapped parking spaces would really make a difference for the mobility challenged. We usually have good and friendly service combined with fair pricing makes this busy store worth a visit. read more

Yuck - it is so dark and depressing inside. For that alone I would want to give it very little stars. The star rating is raised due to the friendly, amenable and helpful staff. And then gets raised even higher for offering a nice selection of organic berries. What delighted me the most, however, was finding two whole aisles of foods I normally buy at Whole Foods (which is now on my sour puss list due to the Amazon takeover and Big Brother tracking implemented) being available at this specific location. Super cool boutique brands like the paleo keto muffins I like - Mike's - a good selection of non dairy frozen ice cream, and other natural goodies (as opposed to the hundred million aisles of non-natural GMO food the masses eat, right?) Stop & Shop - you were slow to get on the natural and health food wave but at least you are doing it now, so kudos there. This location had a robot type thing that alerts the store to spills. One of the employees said to me he didn't understand why they'd have a robot do it and not a person. I was silently thinking because a person would be texting and more concerned with likes on Facebook or Tinder than doing their physical job, so I don't necessarily have a problem with the robot until people start behaving properly. read more

Stop & Shop is always a great place to pick up groceries and other goods. Today we stoped to pick up flowers for a friend. The flower shop always does a good job in setting up arrangements and providing ready made arrangements. The flowers are always fresh and smell great in addition they are reasonably priced. read more

I've been going to Stop & Shop on Main St for about 11 years since moving to the area. Everyone is super helpful and considerate and I've always found what I need. I want to say that "Laura" from the floral department is just simply a wonderful sales associate. She has gone out of her way to make beautiful floral arrangements for me when there was little to nothing available on the floor. Apparently in addition to getting rid of the self service scanners they also turned off the server for the mobile app so you can't scan groceries with your phone either. I'll definitely think twice about coming back since they decided to make it less convenient to shop here. read more

I avoid this Stop and Shop like the plague, but yesterday I wasn't able to make it to my usual grocery store. Several of the freezers stopped working sometime last year. The broken freezer issue was part of the reason I stopped shopping here. Anyway I bought a frozen item to find it almost halfway melted like when I last shopped here. I don't get it, it looks like the broken freezers were replaced. So are they just happy to sell half melted frozen food to people? Can people get sick from that? DISGUSTING! Do Not Shop At This Location. I purchased crab legs on June 16 and they tasted and smelled like perfume. The week before I purchased items from the Deli and noticed the lady slicing the meat was wearing several bracelets with dangling charms that was sliding across the meat she was serving. ZERO STARS FOR CLEANLINESS. The employees are polite but I would not suggest purchasing meat, seafood or deli items until they change their hygiene habits. Every single time I shop here, my bill is wrong. The cashiers add items to your bill that you didnt buy, or scan the same item more than once, especially when you are buying a lot. They make small talk to distract you while adding a bunch of crap to your receipt. When i call customer service, no apologies, just 'bring your receipt in and we'll correct it". It took four times for this to happen for me to know its NOT a coincidence. Damn shame!! read more

Stop & Shop in Bridgeport, main st Brooklawn ave. Normally you are just treated poorly at the deli, but today I had a written script from the doctor. I thought I would stop in and maybe pick up a few items while I waited for my order to be filled. First I called and the woman on the phone was so rude, I hung up on her. A short time later walked in the store and have to stand I at the counter while the staff completely ignored me...... I could not believe that they just went about their business as if they didn't see me......mind you they were facing me. Then the phone rang and the the pharmacist that I spoke with early picked up the phone never even acknowledging my existence. Finally the girl walked over , I handed her my script. She asked the other pharmacist if they had it , which he replied no....that's was it.we don't have it....... So I asked ,can you get it. With a look of complete of annoyance he replied , yeah but it will be sometime next week. I took my script and went to CVS right down the street , like I should have in the first place. I will NEVER again even attempt to use their pharmacy and will do my best to avoid having to use their entire store. read more

A new low in cleanliness. Deli area food cases very dirty, crusted food. Bakery area same. I used see people clean there all the time, not anymore. Floor is barely clean. Look at the edges. There were flies in the bakery bins. Gross. Standards have declined in this store. Deli staff is hit or miss, lots of turnover. Old timers are gone. This place is beyond disgusting. I wish I had the option to give it zero stars. I had the unfortunate experience of bringing my 5 year old into the bathroom here ... it was very obvious that it had not been cleaned or even checked in weeks. Bodily "excretions" on the floor, on the toilet seats, even the walls, NO toilet paper in ANY of the 4 stalls, and NO soap to even wash your hands with. And to add to the unsanitary conditions, the 2 Hand sanitizing dispensers located DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM were completely empty. Not only should this establishment be ashamed for having their customers deal with such filth, but so should the nasty people who create these messes and then LEAVE it like that! I have been been going to Stop and Shop for as long as I can remember from Milford Ct to Norwalk CT. Madison Ave Bridgeport was the best but they closed it , leaving us with Main Street as the closest. I can honestly say most of the staff is the best part of this store. First, I have gone there on a Saturday morning, the busiest time of the week and they have had 2 registers open and bag yourself! Something tells me they are saving money by forcing you to go to the self checkout! Yeah, put more people out of work. But yesterday was the payoff, we have 4 cats and they seem to have the best variety of flavors. But, they have this problem where they stack the cat food ALL the way in the back making it impossible to reach, I can't imagine who's bright idea this is! Lately I have had to get a roll of wrapping paper to push it forward for or anyone else for that matter to reach. To make a long story short, yesterday I pulled my back trying to reach it. I know I should have reported it but that's on me. I plan to tell a manager next time I am there not expecting much of a response! I tried to contact corporate but of course there is no way! Just kinda sends you in a loop! Also, this store is not so pretty and oh, we once bought a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream and it was half eaten! Customer Service Desk did not believe us! Gross! And finally, the deli! They usually have 2 people serving customers but still there are about 5 people walking around! They all look like they don't want to be there! 9 out of 10 times the order is wrong! We now go to another store, who ALWAYS have baggers, is cheaper and 5 people behind the deli so barely any waiting time I would tell you who they are but I am not giving up my secret!
