I have been patronizing this Stop & Shop Pharmacy for a number of years and have had a number of issues from time to time, but nothing I could really go crazy about until recent months. On April 5, 2021 I finally received the straw that broke the Camels back. More and more I have been subjected to the impolite and arrogant attitude of the Pharmacist (JOE) -- the guy's really got an almighty attitude and speaks to the customer with a total disregard to respecting another person during communication. S & S Pharmacy staff is top notch ... HOWEVER the prescription manufacturers change FREQUENTLY which means once you adjust to your Rx, the next refill comes from a different manufacturer which translates to other fillers used with the Rx. This can possibly produce unwanted side effects, lower/higher efficacy, etc. Their excuse is we must take what the supplier provides because it is cheaper. We rely on trust and this is being taken away for profit motives. SHAMEFUL!!! read more

What happened to Customer Service? I was at the store at 7:15AM on a Saturday and wanted Lactose Free Chocolate Milk. There was one left and it was damaged plus I needed two. I yelled through the cooler to the person stocking and figured he could not hear me. I asked the person stocking the meat for assistance and he went in the cooler came out and stated the person will be right out. 6 min later nothing. I went back to the same meat person and told him the person is still in the cooler stocking and no one came out and he just shrugged his shoulders. At that time I went to the customer service desk. Found it to be closed because of the time. So I proceeded to self check out and asked if the person working in that area could have some one help. She called over the store intercom for assistance in front of the dairy cooler. 5 min later, still nothing. I went back up front and told the person that put the message over the intercom that still no one has come out and I left. As I drove home, I called the store to ask for the manager on duty and was put on hold for 10 min before I hung up. Ridiculous. read more

so found out that stop and shop has falsified my information which is illegal. They had told me i had a misdemeanor in san diego i've never left new york and been in new york for 27 years of my life and when't to florida to visit my aunt when i was 2 years old. Get this ! my Record is cleaned ! accurate backround check customer care associate i spoke too told me they dont know where they got that information from cause my records are clean and sent me my record portion along with stop and shop portion of my records and said nope they got the same copies you got ! they are cleaned. so when i asked one of the store managers he said he would call them and get intouch with accurate back round check the next day, So i called and Jim a.k.a store manager didnt do his part to get intouch with them like he said he would so the problem could be resolved and kept on insisting i had this false misdemeanor and told him i have copies that my record is cleaned and kept blaming corperate for the issue and said sorry they came back as i had this potiental misdemeanor. They didnt try at all when i spoke to the pharmacist he did absolutely nothing about it even when i had the proof. im going to keep exposing these Skeezers until i get my side of justice for illegally potentially falsifying my information ! this store is by far one of the racist stores i've been too towards hispanics and especially Hispanic males. Theres been reports that they sell rotten meat at this location. whoops ! that must've slipped out ! i do not see not one spanish person there working. i will not let nobody play around with my record just so they can avoid hiring me. Today was a quick visit and it was my first time at this location. Went to bottle deposit, some cans and bottles weren't accepted although the same brand were accepted by the machine. After waiting inside at Specialized Services for over 20 minutes, I was able to turn in those particular bottles/cans along with my deposit slips for redemption. Then I had a particular item to purchase afterwards, which I found relatively easily. I found the price of the item to be on par or a little above average.. But being in the store and the convenience of not having to drive elsewhere convinced me to purchase it there. The checkout girl was nice and speedy. Would I return? Sure, why not! read more

Here's an update since my previously "preferred" Pathmark (because of their increased item selection in regard to some particulars: salad dressings, Parmesan cheeses, etc.) is no longer, and this Stop & Shop location is closer and suffices: ****My Experience Since**** I cannot pedantically zero in on anything that I find disagreeable about this location, as I've become a regular grocery shopper here and I find this Stop & Shop agreeable. Rarely, you'll encounter a rude employee or fellow shopper. On one occasion, a cart-returner or a front-of-store staff member felt the need to brush up his issuing of directives (Take one from over there!) in regard to my mutualistic appeal to take and use the one cart he was returning for a cart that was already "returned"; maybe the cart he was returning was broken(?). But, I couldn't criticize the man's work ethic, as he was committed to returning that one cart. (Also, there has been a noticeable improvement in the returning of carts. I don't know if people started returning their own carts or the front-of-store staff are shouldering the load left in the parking lot by others.) On another occasion, I did notice some fellow shoppers disregarding a cashier's gestures and actual announcement that his register would be closed after a particular shopper--with one lady immediate beyond the cutoff point who didn't hear (I guess) the cashier's announcement motioning and then saying, "I don't know what the problem [or hold-up] is," as his line continued to grow. But, those were two minor, not even noteworthy (I'm just doing so [noting them] to relay how pedestrian the experience of shopping here is), incidents that didn't even reflect the business out of say twenty or so visits. ****Overall**** For the most part, I'm content shopping at this location. They stock the shelves around the clock or so it seems. Finding a bag for fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats is easy. Their hours of operation (6am-11pm every day) allows you to beat the rush to stock up for the work- and/or school-week. And they've even hired a fair amount of employees to assist cashiers with bagging, so you usually don't have to bag your groceries. (I try to help out with the bagging if I can, even though I probably do more bad than good. [Sometimes, the bags stick together.]) (Note: I have not purchased baked goods, seafood, or pharmaceuticals from this location' and I probably will not. Also, I try to avoid peak hours of operation, so that I can quickly go in, get what I need, and get out.) read more

I usually only go here for "fill-in" items. Never enough carts around. Staff, what there is of it, is friendly and helpful, and they seem to take an active interest in the community b/c you see Girl Scouts, local pet shelters. etc. given space outside. Never come here if you're in a hurry, though, as only one in ten registers will be open. I refuse to use self check because this reduces jobs! read more

I have been a stop and shop customer at this location since they first opened. It was new and clean and was a a joy to shop in this store, especially compared to how Wauldbaums allowed its stores to become dated and dirty. Pathmark was just as bad, and if not the store the parking lot was just as bad and filthy. I have found that this location is becoming just as bad. The trash that some people choose to throw out of their vehicles into the parking lot, rather then walk to the trash can, just lazy inconsiderate people, unfortunately shows the quality of shoppers. This really changes ones mindset when you have to see this before going into the store. The produce has certainly gone down in quality, the aisles are always stuffed with useless displays which block the shoppers from moving easily through the store, nonsense impulse buying products. They stopped carrying whole wheat stop and shop elbow macaroni and since I will not support Barilla products, Im told my choice is Hodgson Mill with Quinoa,(not a fan of Quinoa). As shoppers we are all facing the same issues, rising food costs, smaller packaging at or a higher cost, which translates into spending more for less. Be courteous ,don't pollute, and don't park in front of the store because you feel your entitled to. read more

Mismanaged. A tremendous effort with everything and then they cannot figure out the checkout part. Twice I've left a cart because they have not enough cashiers open and ready. They have it backwards! low end on the tailend? Management should be in there getting the checkout done instead of goofing off at the pub or elsewhere. This place is super dirty. The raw chicken is always within 1 or 2 days of expireing if its not already expired. Ive actually spoke to a manager twice about that and of course nothing changes. The deli cou ter is a joke also. I waited over 15 minutes today when there was no line because the people behind the counter wanted to have their own conversation. Eventually i just walked away. The precut cold cuts are ankther waste of time as the dates on those are sometime from a weekago! The produce is another short comimg. The peppers and vegatbles are always rotten. Most of the fruit is either rotten or no where near ripe. There is no in between. The store itself just looks dirty and run down and the staff is not very helpfull either. Ive never had anything from the fish dept. So i dont know how that would be but i will say that the fish ive seen does look fresh. read more

Staff here is pretty friendly and they have self-scanguns at the entrance to complement the good # of self-checkout kiosks. While the gun was buggy, the self-checkout line moves quickly and the staff is efficient when assisting to keep the line moving (customers can be snappy and they handle it well). read more

The worst place to shop. This store has poor produce for one. The scanners are never fully charged , the kiosk for ordering from the deli department rarely works , they never have their shelves stocked , frozen foods are never stocked, items on sale are not always available, its dirty , the people who work their are self centered and lazy. I am not really a regular at Stop&Shop but when I go to shop, I expect the people to be kind and courteous. The service was excellent except one of the employees who was a blonde female. I forgot to catch her name but she was absolutely horrible and offered no help whatsoever. She seemed to have " more important things to do " as she was texting away. This place is filthy. The parking lot has no place to return your cart. It is always incredibly crowded and it is hilariously understaffed. Lines are often very long and you usually have to bag your own groceries. I was there once and they were totally out of plastic bags! It's the kind of place you go and feel like you're going to get the stomach virus because everything is so dirty. Aisles are disorganized. Most of the meat is so far from fresh that its expiration date is within a day or two. Most of the good sale items are sold out. Prices are pretty bad compared to other stores- and some items are priced egregiously. I dread walking into the store because I have to brace myself for a nerve racking experience. It's like you are shopping in an inner city ghetto. A cashier checking me out once called her own store disgusting (unprompted). They don't care and they don't have to care because they don't have enough competition nearby except for pathmark (super ghetto), King kullen (worst prices anywhere) and walbaums (meh). Demand for groceries is so high in this community people would keep just about any nasty store in business. read more

my name is bill i. that last review i posted about the stop & shop pharmacy was when i went to the stop & shop pharmacy on pleasantview ave. in hackensack, new jersey. i haven't been there since september 15th 2020 & never ever plan on going back there again! the regional managers name was jerry & had called me in the morning when i was sleeping & i couldn't answer it. he or another higher up told to call that same exact pharmacy back. ? no way. game over. one of the ladies @ the pharmacy was young & named lisa. i heard she was of polish descent. she later developed a horrible attitude towards paying customers. an older woman who wasn't working there that long regularly yells @ customers. she most likely is the actual pharmacist there @ that time. i think her name is marion. i drive down the road past this store recently & did not see many cars outside. someone i know well said they actually went into the store at the hackensack stop & shop location & stated to someone that there were very little customers. i wonder why? ha! ha! i was going to this exact location since 2005 or 2006 since they opened up. it looks like in recent years they just go ahead & hire anyone. read more

First off i'll say that this store is always is very clean. They have done alot of improvments over the past year in the produce section & the deli area. Nice selection of Organic products when you first walk in the store if your into that. Now for the complaints. First off management needs to do something about their "cart boys". Half the time there are no carts in front of the store and the cart boys are all bs'ing with one another while smoking a cigarette, or just wandering around the parking lot like fools with not a care in the world. Now for the older man that managent lets stand in front of the inside of the store yelling weird things for hours on end...why in god's name is this allowed to happen inside a store. It's obvious the guy has mental issues beyond his control but why do store patrons have to listen to his nonsense, he kind of strikes me as someone who might go postal at any minute. Get him out of there he's scary !!!!!! Now for the people in the deli dept....just keep quiet and do your jobs...it's not social hour. If you spent less time yapping the day away you might get some work done. There is no reason why there should be 15+ ppl waiting for cold cuts with 5 ppl working behind the deli counter. Now if I go there and there is a long wait I just go to Handy Pantry, they sell boars head and if you go there in the afternoon after the lunch rush you will be in and out within 5 minutes. read more
