I was disturbed to see comments on Facebook allegedly made by your loan officer, Jim Picanso, suggesting that lynching Black people should "come back in style." If these statements are authentic, they are deeply offensive and raise serious concerns about racial bias and discrimination. Does your company condone or agree with these views? If not, what actions are being taken to address them? As a representative of your organization, Mr. Picanso's public comments reflect on your company's reputation and commitment to treating all clients fairly and with respect. Statements of this nature naturally cause people to question whether Black customers and other minority clients can expect equal treatment when seeking loans or financial services. I would appreciate a response regarding your company's position on these comments and any steps being taken to ensure that all customers are treated with dignity, professionalism, and without discrimination. read more

Love love love our local Stoneham Bank! They do so much for the community - shred drives, Halloween stroll, tree lighting, town day...all of those things just make me happy. Like when they had Santa in the drive thru in those early days of covid. But what's the best about Stoneham Bank is how easy they make it to do business with them. The Branch Manager, Violeta, remembers me and greets me by name. I thought it was just me, but she does it for so many clients. Such a nice touch - why would we go anywhere else?!? TL;DR Highly Recommend!! read more

jessica was amazing and extremely helpful intensive and a pleasure to work with I to anyone

On 7/18 and 7/21 I brought 142 E Bonds to be deposited to my account and the customer service was more than excellent Violeta and Gio were very friendly and experience on how to process them. The value of the bonds was deposited to my account the same day . It is a breath of fresh air to encounter people that do a good job now days . Also want to mention the warm welcome from the receptionist which you don't get at any Bank. Juan S read more

Once again the service at Stoneham Bank was not only thorough but the staff takes the time to explain issues that we were not aware with travel. The staff explained the importance of using credit cards versus debit to minimize the chance of being scammed. Yes you can teach an old dog a new trick. Thank you again. read more

They are the worst. If I could leave no stars I would. They approved me and I set up my direct deposit and then they closed my account without reason. If this bank doesn't get a one star Idk what else to say. Horrible. I've heard bad news but dealing with moving my direct deposit wasn't fun. read more

I have been a customer at the Stoneham Bank my entire life. A very long time now. I have always done my business there because of the people who have worked there. Currently the bank has employed some new people. They are all outstanding and our excellent representatives for the bank. Gio is one of the young gentleman who from the first time I met him he always makes me feel welcome when I come in. He even calls me by my last name which shows you how respectful he is . Keep up the great work. John LaRocca. read more

I first heard about StonehamBank through a homeowner seminar they were hosting. One of their lenders, Judy Cronin did a wonderful job presenting - she was warm and insightful. I was truly impressed. I knew I had to contact them. A few days later I made the mistake of contacting a different lender named Pasqual Storms to help me with a loan. From the initial phone call, I felt his rude demeanor. He never once had a positive outlook. He failed to discuss loan options that would work for me financially. To him, there was only one option and I did not quality. He told me my 730+ credit score could be better and reiterating I should get a gift from a relative when I told him from the very beginning, I wanted to do this on my own. I had money saved up for a down payment and it was more than enough with the right loan. But Pasqual failed to make it work. A good lender would look out for their clients and try their best to help you reach your goal - this is not Pasqual. I would him e-mail early in the morning with enthusiasm and he would wait til the end of the day to condescendingly present me with bad news each time. After refusing to approve me for a loan based on minor issues, I pulled a relative in to cosign and he was extremely negative and assumed my relative - who has an 800+ credit score and impressive finances - wouldn't be able to help. That was the last straw. I've already begun working with a new lender at a national bank and the experience has been nothing but amazing. I got pre-approved right away. I'm getting a house this spring and I'm glad it's not with Pasqual. You'd expect a small local bank to provide quality customer service and to help you succeed financially. Not here at StonehamBank - they set you up for failure. Maybe it's just Pasqual? Either way, I'd look elsewhere. read more

Due to a hardship, divorce and custody issue, I was 2 months late on payments. Asked for a loan modification and they never responded to the submission packet I sent. was told by the Vice President that they would not move forward as long as I was making payments, just that they had to protect their end. Well, they moved forward and slapped me with 23K in Attys fees by just filing the initial paperwork. Absolute worst BANK ever. And because I have less than perfect credit , I cant refinance. Additionally, they "mistakenly" lost loan payments and the process to get them allocated correctly was a nightmare. DO NOT USE these crooks! read more

This is a local bank with a local feel. The receptionist seals the deal for me. She is wikked awesome and always makes you feel welcome. The customer service department is good as well, doing their job to the best of their ability. Their ATM cards could use a revamp, they are ugly. I love this bank because there is no surcharge on dumping a bunch of coins into their coin machine and having it placed right into your account. It's awesome. The tellers are nice enough, not overly friendly and yeah, they have the bullet-proof glass between us. They have dum-dum lollipops all over but they never offer, maybe they should offer. read more

Horrible treatment for anyone looking for refinancing a mortgage. Avoid this bank like the plague. They are cavalier and do not care about you. Take this as a warning. Go elsewhere. read more

They suck. I walked in with 500 in 20s they refused to convert them into $100 bills because I was not a customer of the bank I asked the man pleaded with him , I have a daughter flying out I just didn't want to give her a whole wad of money he said I can't help you this bank sucks. Do business with a bank that is for it's community not there to soak it for money. read more

Stoneham Bank provided a mortgage for my recent purchase. Their rate was as good as I could find anywhere else. Their fees were lower than my last mortgage w/ Bank of America. Most importantly, they were blazing fast in processing my loan. The whole process had a feel of a local bank who was on my side, as opposed to a National bank where your loan processing is tossed into their bureaucratic machine, and you can't get any visibility into the progress or estimated completion date. I worked w/ Maria Luker out of the Stoneham office, and she was extremely fast, and great with communication. read more

DO NOT USE THEM TO FINANCE YOUR CAR LOANS/MORTGAGE ETC. and if you already do check DCU rates this could save you thousands of dollars!!!! It saved me over 10K... I had been a customer for over 20 years, started with them because they were a small bank feel...not any more! Their mortgage rates are higher than most. I am switching to DCU better rates and much better service. Stoneham Bank lost my account over a $45.59 charge, when they were making over $600 a month in interest from me....does this make any sense to you??? Kerry smart decision, but in the long run you helped saved me over $10K, by taking my mortgage elsewhere! read more

It seems unusual that people actually do their jobs well. The Stoneham Bank is exceptionally good at what they do. They take care of customers and really pay attention to the quality of service. I filled out one of those, at-a-boy cards, extolling their good service. The president of the bank wrote back in person. She thanked me for the feedback and asked if there were anything they could to better... a tall order to be sure. I recalled seeing an anomaly in how the online banking web interface worked and sent them a note. They followed-up and spent a lot of time to really understand what the issue was (a really obscure technical representation problem that most people would never catch, let alone care about) and to thank me for bringing it to their attention. In a decade they have been there with a smile and when I mess-up, they call and practically apologize for bringing up my error. These folks are beyond amazing. I have done a bit of banking over the years, and even in a large, high end back, the service has never been better. I highly recommend the Stoneham bank. Not only do they do their job well, but they are willing to accommodate the needs of the customers. read more

Had a nice enough experience up until the point where we were only informed there was a paperwork problem on their end the day before we were supposed to close. Got placated and told it was "no big deal" and wouldn't affect closing when it turns out we can't close without it. We have been asking for weeks if everything was set and been lied to over and over. Situation could have been avoided if any point during the 6 weeks we took to close we had been spoken with about the issue. I would absolutely not recommend using them for a mortgage, other local banks have comparable rates; look elsewhere. read more
