My wife went to this citizens bank yesterday as she needed to withdraw cash, but was waiting on a…read morenew debit card so she was unable to use the ATMShe arrived 10 minutes before closing time and when she arrived, there was a couple being helped by the 1 clerk available at the time. My wife patiently waited as they helped this couple for 15 minutes meaning the time was now 7:05. When the couple walked away, my wife walked to the clerk, who very rudely told her "WE ARE CLOSED", even though she clearly waited for 15 minutes, was there prior to close, and because the clerk was unable to do her job in a timely manner, was simply sent away. The clerk did not apologize, did not say anything while clearly noticing my wife was waiting the whole time, and the clerk did not stop or show any sympathy. The clerk simply said "WE ARE CLOSED" as she turned her back to my wife and walked away. I was extremely shocked to see this as I checked out our groceries needed, especially as she has been a Citizens bank member for over 10 years now, and she is treated above and beyond at every other location. This is the one time we visited this location as we are typically not in the area and because of this, we have started to actively look for a new bank to do business with. It's unfortunate that they chose to employ someone who is clearly there just for a paycheck and not to actually help customers. Update: Still no word on Yelp or directly from the Citizens Bank branch this happened at. Sad to see they value getting out exactly when they are suppose to, rather than the customer they have had for 10+ years.

Ok, no problem, let me add a signature; here's my ID. Nope, can't do that after the account is opened. What? My money is just inaccessible? Yup. Tellers seemed disinterested and had no authority to resolve the problem. I understand that these kinds of problems can arise at banks from time to time, so I was told to contact the manager. Left voicemails for the manager, Kristine Noonan, and she didn't even bother to call me back. That was enough for me, there are too many banks out there to bother with this non-sense. Closed the account and moved on. I will say the problem does seem unique to this branch, as in past had very positive and helpful experiences at the Citizens in East Cambridge when I had an account there.

About a year ago I had a very bad experience with an extremely rude customer service…read morerepresentative. I almost changed banks because I was so disgusted. Recently I had a manager (who wasn't there at the time) named Melissa help me correct an unauthorized charge to my account. I use the Redstone branch because it's in close proximity to my home location. I've heard horror stories of it taking months for people to get their money back. Melissa immediately took action by shutting off my debit card and preparing the paper work for me. She filled out everything. All I had to do was sign it. She even offered to bring it to me personally if I didn't think I would be able to make it to the bank that day. I didn't want her to have to do that so I went in on my lunch break and she had me in and out in 2 minutes. Within 7 days, I had my money back and my new debit card. I already had the pin because Melissa gave it to me before I received the card. She also told me I qualified for power checking which allows me to use other ATM machines and be reimbursed by the bank at the end of the month. This was great! Finally, I moved 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, the bank has made it a nightmare changing my address. Every time I would go into the bank the representative would need a manager override because for some reason my address wouldn't change (I'm fairly certain it was a computer glitch.) Since Melissa has started working here I feel like the customer service has done a 180 and I'm glad I stuck with Salem Five. She's an asset to your team and should be commended!
