You name it, Salem Five has it. Want free coin counting in this location? They've got it in house. How about very short lines? I don't think I've ever seen it busy where I waited for more than two people in front of me. Eeeemmm is that free Keurig coffee and CNN playing in the background in the lounge area? Nice touch! I don't get why people tend to gravitate towards something like Bank of America unless we live among that many zombies in America. All I ever hear are horror stories from customers there as I secretly laugh with glee how my bank has never taken an illegitimate penny from me. Do yourself a favor, drop the zeros and go with the local hero, you'll never change banks again.....I can assure you of that.

Ok, no problem, let me add a signature; here's my ID. Nope, can't do that after the account is opened. What? My money is just inaccessible? Yup. Tellers seemed disinterested and had no authority to resolve the problem. I understand that these kinds of problems can arise at banks from time to time, so I was told to contact the manager. Left voicemails for the manager, Kristine Noonan, and she didn't even bother to call me back. That was enough for me, there are too many banks out there to bother with this non-sense. Closed the account and moved on. I will say the problem does seem unique to this branch, as in past had very positive and helpful experiences at the Citizens in East Cambridge when I had an account there.

About a year ago I had a very bad experience with an extremely rude customer service…read morerepresentative. I almost changed banks because I was so disgusted. Recently I had a manager (who wasn't there at the time) named Melissa help me correct an unauthorized charge to my account. I use the Redstone branch because it's in close proximity to my home location. I've heard horror stories of it taking months for people to get their money back. Melissa immediately took action by shutting off my debit card and preparing the paper work for me. She filled out everything. All I had to do was sign it. She even offered to bring it to me personally if I didn't think I would be able to make it to the bank that day. I didn't want her to have to do that so I went in on my lunch break and she had me in and out in 2 minutes. Within 7 days, I had my money back and my new debit card. I already had the pin because Melissa gave it to me before I received the card. She also told me I qualified for power checking which allows me to use other ATM machines and be reimbursed by the bank at the end of the month. This was great! Finally, I moved 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, the bank has made it a nightmare changing my address. Every time I would go into the bank the representative would need a manager override because for some reason my address wouldn't change (I'm fairly certain it was a computer glitch.) Since Melissa has started working here I feel like the customer service has done a 180 and I'm glad I stuck with Salem Five. She's an asset to your team and should be commended!
