This is a fast food place with beer and wine disguised to look like a nice sit-down restaurant. Went in on a Saturday night after a movie and it was very loud, packed, and people were running all around (picking up their orders and refilling their soft drinks...?) The tables were filled with fast food type trash, plastic cups and large fast food type disposable soft drink cups. Pricing is between fast food and sit down restaurant but the atmosphere is "get-em-in - get-em-out", fast food style. There is nothing inherently wrong with that if that's what you are looking for and/or if you have a bunch of small kids who don't do well in a sit-down restaurant (been there). read more

I have been eating here from time to time over the years and at first their food was consistently good. In recent months either the chef has changed or the ingredients have and the food has become worse and worse. Today i went there on the off-chance that it had improved. I ordered a petite chopped salad with tri-tip. The meat was grey and tasteless and the salad was limp and slimy. After two bites i got up and left. The food was utterly inedible. The food is VERY plentiful and of good quality. A family sitdown atmosphere, with very good service and polite waiters. Everything we have tried has been excellent. This place is always packed and smells sooo good so we decided to try it finally. Staff is friendly and the place was clean, but our entree was OK. We ordered the tri-tip and chicken breast combo. Ceasar salad and breadsticks were good. We ordered a side of mash potatos and they were tasty, but the meat wasn't as good as we would have expected. Both meats lacked so much flavor...it's like they cook it without using marinades and just pour whatever sauce you chose when ordering. We have tried BBQ restaurants all over the place and I would consider Stonefire Grill the McDonald's of BBQ. Those who truly know their BBQ will understand what I mean. read more

For BBQ chicken and steak...this is the best it gets!! Meat is so tender, almost melts in your mouth. The flavor is decadent! Make sure to try their garlic butter bread sticks. Our office goes here at least once per week. They have lunch specials with good prices and they don't skimp on the portions. read more

We visited the Stonefire Grill for the first time last night. The good: The interior design is nicely done. There are plenty of staff circulating around in case you need anything after you receive your order. The breadsticks. The odd: Basically, you order at a counter a'la a fast food restaurant. Your order is then delivered to your table. This works well at McDonalds, but with a more complex menu... not so much. The not so good: It is apparent that the ribs are steamed, then sauced and grilled after you place your order - so don't expect anything even remotely resembling expertly done ribs. The sauce is an attempt at North Carolina style but very heavy on the vinegar. A final word: This place, due to the design can get very noisy and the 70s background (actually, 'foreground' given the volume) make conversation difficult. Overall - just ok. Will we go back again? Every Sunday after church I have dinner at Stonefire Grill in Irvine. I love the food, specially South of the border salad. All the employees are very professional, always helping their customers. I had a great experience 2 weeks ago. This place was very full that people had to wait to be seated. As I'm eating my dinner, I see one of the employees working so hard, his name is Coyotl. Went to try this place out last week, I'm giving it a 3ish stars. It's good if you have kids, it's pretty loud. I ordered the half chicken and half tri-tip. The food was cold and not so tasty. It was our son's 16th birthday and we decided to order in for dinner. Unfortunately, our family did NOT have a great experience with your facility. What we ordered (which was not a large order) we did not receive. We were given horseradish as dressing for our Caesar salad, we did not receive our side of baked beans and slaw, nor did we receive BBQ sauce for our ribs (which came completely dry). When we went to pick up our food the "hostess/manager" had no clue what was going on and the restaurant seemed to be in a bit of confusion. Nonetheless, we were completely bummed. We've gone here twice. First time was two weeks ago and we were served chicken that was cold. Second visit was last Friday. I had the salmon, and my wife had the chicken. Both meals were again served cold. The only thing that was served warm were the breadsticks, which makes sense since they were served 10 minutes after we got our entrees. Ordered dinner to go tonight and was called by the manager Christina before I left to pick up my meal. They were out of the specific item I ordered yet she had a great solution for me. She gave me the choice of cancelling or going with her recommendation. I didn't cancel the order and was pleasantly surprised with a better alternative than my original choice. My family has never been to Stonefire Grill until Monday. They hosted a Sensory Friendly night and that made all the difference to us. We don't go out to dinner, like at all. Why? Because it's stressful having a toddler let alone a toddler who gets easily overwhelmed in most restaurant environments. It was sooo nice to know that we had a place to go where we didn't have to worry about anything. Let me stress that it is not common to have a family friendly restaurant to go to where the lights are low, it isn't to loud, it's family friendly, the food is delicious, and overall not needing to say sorry. Thank you Firestone Grill. PLEASE HOST ANOTHER NIGHT, like once a month would be nice- so families like mine can get out. I will tell you how much I love this place. When my son was younger, he liked to go to some event at the Game Stop close to Stonefire Grill. I never objected, even though we live a good hour from Irvine (more if traffic is bad) because it meant I got to have a meal here! To start with, the Greek salad is delicious; chock full of feta cheese and briny olives, a little kick from the pepperocinis, some sweet earthiness from the beets and of course the lettuce, which was fresh and well prepped; no hard pieces from the core like some restaurants try to pawn off on you! Standard Greek dressing, but not too oily or tart- just right. The bread sticks come hot from the oven. Beware their buttery addictiveness or you may not have room left for dinner when it arrives. I've had the tri-tip, the chicken and the ribs and they're all good. What I really love is the pizza. The crust is just right for me; not too thick or doughy. The sauce is mild and not overly sweet and there's plenty of cheese and toppings, but not so much that the crust collapses. The place is always clean, the service is efficient, the prices are reasonable; the one downside is that it does get very crowded at times, so you may have a bit of a wait for a table. But hey, that's what you get for choosing such a great place to eat! read more

Great atmosphere with friendly staff. We ordered the Caesar salad, pesto pasta and margarita pizza. The margarita pizza was bland. Not enough sauce and the dough was slightly soggy. I was in town for business and wanted to try unique to the area. I found Stonefire Grill. I will say the server was very polite and helpful, I ordered the French Roast dip sandwich and medium drink which came to $9.66. When I got my food I was a little surprised that the only thing on my plate was the sandwich and nothing else. For the money I was expecting a little more. I've been to Stone Fire several times - and even twice in the same day! I'm a creature of habit so when I got around to the Petite Tri-Tip it became my dish there and I've had it every single time since. Always BBQ, always medium and always with the Greek Salad. 2 bread sticks are included with the package all for $8.63 inlcuding tax. I typically drop a Hamilton and throw the change in the tip jar. The salad is always the same - crisp ingredients, nice light dressing and always delicious. The meat doesn't always come out medium though - I've had a range from medium to well done. The meat is always tender and tastes great so that's why I still gave them 4 stars. There is room for improvement here. The service is always great but if you are dining with friends, you may end up getting your food at different times. read more

I recently had Stonefire come out and cater for a formal company event. I was in charge of the catering for 120 ppl and all I can say is that everything was AMAZING!! I ordered the full catering package (BBQ Tri-tip, Lemon Chicken, Pesto Pasta, Beans, Cesar Salad, Garlick Mashed Potatoes, Breadsticks) and everything turned out absolutely perfect! The set up was elegant and the food was talked about even the next day! People were raving at how delicious the food was and were giving me high 5's for a job well done but I cannot take credit for it. I will definitely have STONEFIRE GRILL cater our future events and even my personal events. The staff was also so fun to work with and had everything in control while serving the hungry crowd. StoneFire Grill catered our company luncheon and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the efficiency and friendliness of our hired server, Hannah (if you get the chance, request her. She's awesome.) We ordered Elly's Choice, which is either BBQ or Pepper Garlic Tri-Tip; Lemon Garlic or BBQ Chicken Breast; BBQ Chopped Salad; Garlic Mashed Potatoes; and freshly baked breadsticks. Hannah came in, got everything set up within an hour for our lunch and served everybody quickly. It's not easy to please 65 people, but it was accomplished. Would definitely order from them again. Came here with my girlfriend once, Excellent customer service and the wait wasn't even that long! Got a table after only waiting 10 minutes or so on a busy night. We ordered the large pesto pasta and a couple of bread sticks and that was enough for the two of us. The pesto pasta is delicious, maybe its just me but I'm still craving it! Went there for a large order about a month or so ago and they have awful service. Do not go! Called my order in and was there at the time they said the order would be complete. Went to the front carry out area and gave them all the info and paid. The cashier told me to please wait. I waited 20 minutes beyond the time and was observing the cashier and everyone to see when an order like mine might come out. I was getting impatient but waited. Nothing came out of the kitchen, the cashier that I paid through finally realized my order has been done the entire time sitting in the cubby behind her even before I paid. I asked her how long was it sitting and she lied straight to my face, 'maybe ten minutes. " I was pissed. I would have complained to the manager but we had guests over so I was rushed. I asked for more BBQ sauce, she then gave me attitude. Mind you we ordered 5 or 6 lbs of tri tip and other stuff to go along with it and I told her that. She then showed me some BBQ sauce was in there and got me more. That's all she had to say. Got home a few minutes later and had the guests eat really cold food. We had to heat it all up again. This was horrible service and I wish I remember the girl's name because she was useless. If you don't mind cold BBQ, go ahead and get some from this place. Otherwise you might have your food sitting for 20 minutes too long before you get to eat it. There is no excuse. I was watching the waitress and she really didn't do much throughout the time. She could have easily pulled it out at the time of payment, hell even a few minutes after. I've never seen service this bad and it wasn't cheap. I paid a good amount for this and was treated poorly with attitude after her screw up. read more
