I will start with the pros: their selection is very good. That's it. The cons outweigh this…read more I was referred to this company by a family member that used them. She commented on the selection and nothing else. In hindsight, I should have run for the hills. We went to the showroom several times to walk the warehouse and choose the perfect stone. Quartz is what we ordered. Pierre and his brother own the shop and while they were never overly friendly, they were professional. The day we came to order the stone and discuss details, things went well and Pierre scheduled us within weeks for measurements and install further out on the calendar. Supposed to be two dates (measuring and install). Prices weren't cheap, but weren't the most expensive either. I was so excited that this company seemed to be on their game. His brother came to quietly take the measurements on the scheduled date. Install day comes, two men show and wait for bigger guys to help them. Bigger guys arrive and carry pieces in and determine they did not bring the right size. So the whole install day is scrapped and we get scheduled another two weeks out. This time only three small guys show up without proper equipment to bring in massive slabs of stone. They rest an over 9 x 5 foot slab on our wood step denting it. THEN after getting it into the kitchen, chip a whole corner off of the island top, turn around to see if we saw, and spend about 40 minutes trying to glue it back together which we said we won't accept. It was probably a 4-5 inch piece busted off the corner. The workers (specifically one I did not get name of) get irate at us and call their boss Pierre. Lots of yelling in a different language and I get handed the phone to say we need a new piece of stone and the step will now need repair. (Pierre agreed to both without apology). The one worker was so rude every time, he was actually scary and we really didn't want him in our house again. So we get rescheduled yet AGAIN. This time, two men (who had been out prior) come out with the stone and only do part of the job. No reasons why, but explaining your process to customers (that you do the counters, then island, then backsplash at all different times) would be nice. I can't even list everything that went wrong. The sink cutout that we paid $250 for was done wrong. It was to be flush as stated in the initial meeting. Apparently Pierre didn't write that down and blamed us for the problem. Even when it was recut, it doesn't match our sink (that they had the whole time). They wanted to use these huge, ugly black plastic brackets for under the sink. We had to go buy our own stainless steel brackets to use instead. They won't use clips or glue. They hacked into our drywall and cabinets to make their ill-measured stone fit. The backsplash doesn't go up to the bottom of the cabinet (they told me that's not possible), so big gaps under the cabinet and between the top of the backsplash. Caulking cracked within a week of install though the temperature was the same in the room. The grout (or glue) between the stone at the seams is missing/has gaps and is yellowing. I sent photos and called Pierre about this. We were rescheduled for a recaulk once after being told it was a temperature problem (which it is not). It's about skimping on product and using cheap materials. We were treated poorly at every touchpoint after the initial sale. I am very disappointed they don't stand by their work and that our kitchen has zero warranty.

Trust them with your ideas and let them guide you. You will not be disappointed. Wonderful people to deal with from Georgianna, to the people that measured to the installers and finally the owner. I hired Mil-Spec Construction for a kitchen renovation, and I'll start by saying if I could give…read morethem more stars, I would. The quality of workmanship that they held all the contractors to, was outstanding. The price for a high end renovation is always expensive, but I felt it was extremely fair, and never once felt like I was being overcharged for anything. That is all to be expected from a quality contractor, but where I felt they really shined was the communication, and schedule. I was aware of every aspect of the renovation, and knew on a daily basis, who was going to be there working, what they were doing, and when they were going to be there. It was like clockwork, and never had a time when someone was supposed to be there, and didn't show up. Everyone (Mike, Blake, Stephanie) went above and beyond to make sure my project went smoothly. I will absolutely be using them for future projects.

I am giving this company 3 stars because the work itself was completed on time, but the overall…read moreexperience was deeply disappointing. Bait‑and‑switch concerns. The owner, Blake, initially presented one set of expectations and then shifted them once the project began. Warranty issues. I was told the work came with a two‑year warranty. Within one week of the bathroom being completed, I discovered a leak behind the wall. When I requested assistance, I was blamed for the issue rather than offered support--despite the problem appearing almost immediately after completion. Contract practices. The contract I was asked to sign was blank. When I raised concerns about the work, I was told the items I questioned were "not in the contract." Instead of addressing the issues, I was met with threats of litigation, and at one point the owner made comments that I perceived as physically threatening. Several mistakes were made during the project and were only corrected after I pushed back--only for the situation to be turned around on me again. I invested approximately $30,000 in this project. My original review was posted on Yelp but was later removed after the owner disputed it. I have text message documentation of the entire experience and will provide it if further false statements are made by the owner or Blake (B.G.). My strong recommendation: do not sign a blank contract and ensure every detail of the work is documented. I made the mistake of trusting the owner as a friend, and that trust was not respected.

We did a major kitchen remodel, gutted the entire entire kitchen and replaced HVAC, electrical, floors. We were very concerned because our neighbor went with a general contractor and it took them 2 months to get it done. Dreammaker has kitchen remodeling down to a science. They estimated 13 days, they actually got done in 9 days and came back for minor touches completing ahead of time in 11 days. Just amazing. I chose Nuway despite the other two Yelp reviews they had at the time. I didn't see how a debate on a broken tub nor the parts guy being fast enough had any bearing on a full kitchen remodel. I feel I ultimately made a good choice, and I would ultimately recommend them. There were times in the beginning of the project where I would think I made the worst decision in my life. There were issues like any other major remodeling project and changes needed; but ultimately, they pulled through and I was impressed with the outcome. I was also impressed with their continued support AFTER I made the last payment when I have a couple minor items come up and they responded quickly and courteously. I feel I received solid value for what I paid; I was able to have my cherry cabinets, quartz counter tops, top end fixtures, and simultaneously was able to considerably open up my floor plan for a much more reasonable price than I would have thought possible had I limited my search to the companies in Birmingham and Rochester. I also was treated fairly, and courteously through the whole process. I actually came to trust them, which is critical when faced with a project as large as a kitchen remodel. It's worth the drive, Steve was great to work with and if I had issues no matter how "nit picky" they were addressed. The bathroom is small and increasing the size was not an option, so we weren't sure that "rearranging" the space would get us the bigger shower that we were hoping for, but Aimee (the designer) came out and took measurements and later presented us with a layout that would accomplish our goal. The finished product not only provides us with a bigger shower but it is absolutely gorgeous. There were some "hiccups" along the way, some major and some lesser so, but Aimee and Lauren (the scheduler) were reassuring and professional, and every issue was addressed. The crew always arrived when scheduled and, because of their professionalism and thoughtfulness we were not inconvenienced anywhere near as much as might be expected when you are living in the home during a construction project. I would definitely recommend Newmyer Kitchen and Bath to our friends and neighbors.
