I've come here many times over the years. They sell everything from high-quality gemstone jewelry (great for gifts) to palo santo (great as incense). I have always felt welcome when browsing or purchasing items. Yet I'd like to share a customer service experience that stands out. I came here last December searching for a labradorite cabochon for a necklace I planned to make for my sister. I wanted the stone to hold a distinct "blue flash" and for the focal stone's size and shape to complement the rest of the pendant. It took me a long time, it seemed, to settle on a purchase. The owner/manager was incredibly helpful and patient, sharing tray after tray of labradorite focal pieces until I found what I wanted. My sister loves her gift (pictured here on New Year's Eve). I love a good crystal shop. One that has allot to offer and a good knowledgeable staff. I wanted to start the new year off right, and I needed to "replace" a few crystals and pick up anything that might catch my eye. What a lovely shop! Back in the Bay Area and I was checking out some of the shops in Berkeley. I came across Stone Room 2. The large butterfly shaped Amethyst geode at the entrance is so stunning it stopped me in my tracks. I had to go in! There are a variety of amazing specimens for sale. Do not let some of the prices scare you off. It seems those gems are priced by the quality of the specimen and the size of the piece. For those on a budget, there are an assortment of gem stones in little baskets on the ground. The geodes cost just $2! We had a blast cracking them open. We purchased a few other gems as well. Up the stairs you will find beads for jewelry making and some gorgeous carved pieces. The carved crystal skulls being my favorite. I was especially pleased that they carried authentic Palo Santo sticks. Something that is not easy for me to find where I live. The ones they carry are sourced from Peru. I smudged the house when I returned home and it gave me such a serene feeling. I plan to visit again before we leave. I was so taken in with everything else that I forgot to look at the jewelry! She mentioned how the manager was so nice and walking in, she felt really good energy. We finally set a day to visit together and as soon as we walked in, we felt so calm. Went to try a chicken spot across the street and my boyfriend told me to turn about and there it was Stone room 2. I went to their main store but, the 2nd location is a lot bigger with more crystals to choose from. There is plenty of parking around this area so finding parking shouldn't be a problem. When you come in crystals are organized by name and their description to helping you with your spiritual higher self. There are so many to choose from and they have everything. No incenses just crystals and jewelry. The guy behind the counter was very welcoming and catered to my needs in having an amazing experience. Prices cary depending on the crystal and size. I study geology and collect rocks & minerals as a side hobby, this store is by far the best rock shop I've visited. They have a huge variety of rocks, crystals, minerals, fossils and jewelry. Every time I come back there's something new. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about their collection and willing to answer any questions you may have! Honestly, this place is a very average crystal place. They have a good selection however it's on the pricy side which I understand for Bay Area. However, the vibes are so off here. The owners literally hawk eye you the entire time your there I had to leave because it was making me and my friend uncomfortable. It even made my dad raise an eyebrow. Not at all what your looking for when you go to metaphysical place. Also they only allow 4 people at a time and we have a sneaking suspicion that it's not Covid related. Like do you have to watch over my shoulder the entire time when there only 3 other people in the store and two guy owners? Also be aware they give palo santo as a gift, which is nice, but I've also heard it's a closed practice and stay away from it. If your looking for cool statement pieces this is a good place. My crystal headquarters. Ok, not really because Stone Room in Albany (their main store) is my main headquarters, but I've gone to Stone Room 2 more since it's a tad bit closer. Definitely compared to Albany, it's smaller due to the store layout and also how the space is in the middle of Downtown Berkeley. So as a result, more things are in bowls rather than all the rose quartz that I know are on display. That being said though, the selection and crystals inside are still very good. I feel though this is probably a better place to pick some small crystals for your bag for good mojo. The vibe in here is also great and I always go here and end up taking something home. They've given me small gifts when I'm here, whether it's a piece of small stick of palo santo for smudging or even a small crystal. Also the Berkeley location seems to have the candles better laid out. Price-wise it's average, but compared to some places, it's definitely better on the wallet. It's not etsy cheap, but at least you're supporting a local business and also you know that the stones are at least cleansed with positive vibes. I believe they smudge the space with white sage daily, either burning it or a smudge spray since I saw they have one. Go because: You like crystals and geology You need a spiritual boost You usually know what you want You want good customer service with a staff that knows what they are doing. I saw one of the shopkeepers be so patient when kids were there and they paid for their purchase all in change. Go to the Albany location if: Mobility is an issue due to the stairs You need a larger selection or you like the displays better You want towers and larger pieces Parallel parking is an issue for you (there is a good distance from a lot, but Solano Ave. parking is not parallel) Don't Go if: You're going to be rude and take away the good vibe from there. read more

Good variety of products, staff are friendly. However, they really need to rethink the layout of the store/items. The things the most people are looking to buy are the small stones/crystals. But the shop has placed these all in little baskets and bowls ON THE FLOOR. You have to bend your upper body down to read the labels. Then you have to bend down all the way or kneel to pick up an item. This is *not* an effortless shopping experience. If you have back problems, you should shop elsewhere. Instead...there's a whole lot of large showcase pieces on the shelves. It'd be a good idea to rearrange things, or even get more shelves or drawers for the small stones/crystals. read more

I was in the area, passing by when I saw this cute and beautiful crystal shop. I was amazed at how many different crystals they had, along with the variety. The customer service was also great. The two gentlemen always checked on me to make sure I was doing okay and made me feel comfortable while I was browsing around. I ended up purchasing a Selenite and an Aragonite.
